I can't view notes on my ipod nano

I've tried a few times to get my notes, all saved in text files, to show up on my ipod. I followed the instructions and enable the ipod for disk use and then moved the files to the 'notes' folder on the ipod, but when I look in the folder on the ipod, it tells me I have no notes. Am I missing a step? If anyone's had a similar experience, I could use some advice. Thanks all!

Yhea, same here, i've tried almost everything, checking the hidden files, deleting .metadataneverindex, adn changing text formats but even if they are on the iPod, i can't see them when i go to Extras>Notes

I am new to the ipod world, I won the thing. So since I had
no music on my computer but lots of photo's thought I would
load some to check out how they look.
After trying for an hour, updating to the latest 1.1.1 ipod
nano firmware, latest itunes 6.0.4.2 I fixed the problem.
I had to put at least one song on the nano and then the
"Photo Library" folder along with the folder name I was
syncing showed up. This is a bug <|:-(

ITunes 10.7 can not eject my ipod nano 4

When I bought iPhone5, I update my iTunes to 10.7.21 to identify iPhone5.
But the new version iTunes can not eject my ipod nano 4 normally.
When I tried to eject iPod nano 4, the "usb mass message is uninstalled" message shows, bu the ipod nano 4 still existed in iTunes.
Then my Windows 7 system can not shut down successfully.
Can you fix this bug right now?

I'm having the same problem, including it not syncing my playlists. Also, I have the iBooks app installed and it won't sync my books?? I paid for those and thyey show up in my iTunes, just not on my touch.

this is my first ipod, and i am very happy with it except i can't viewing lyrics on my ipod.i pressed the center button when it is on the Now Playing screen, but it won't show the lyrics.my iTunes can see the all the lyrics, but my ipod.i went to apple store and made a appointment with their genius. after waiting for 40 mins,no one help me, then i left.

While on the Now Playing window
of the 5G iPod, if you press the center button twice,
the lyrics come up.
Though, of course, you first need to enter the song's lyrics in iTunes.
(File -> Get Info -> Lyrics)
I use Sing That iTune! (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/music/singthatitune.html)
to automatically fetch song lyrics off the Internet,
but as the OP uses Windows, I don't know of an easy way for him to do so.

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I upgraded to itunes 10.6 and with that "upgrade" I can't manually sunc to my ipod nano 5th gen anymore. I have re-installed itunes, restored my ipod, tried syncing under another users account and everything else I can think of. It syncs ok upon initial start-up but then when I tryp to select podcasts or music to sync to it, itunes crashes. Now that I restored my ipod, I can't even get my old podcasts much less add new ones.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?

i'm seriously considering buying an iphone. but before i do, i just have a couple of questions:
1. How can I transfer my music from ipod nano to iphone?
2. Will there be an iphone with higher memory capacity than 16gb? If so, when will it be out. (If there will be memory sizes of ipod similar to ipod classic, then i think it's better if i wait a little longer considering that there's only little difference in the price).

I don't believe there will be an iPhone with storage capacity equivalent to the iPod Classic anytime soon - at least not within the next month, or even this year or the next.
The iPod Classic has a hard drive. The iPod Touch and iPhone have Flash storage. Flash storage is more expensive than the hard drive equivalent, but the cost for Flash storage is coming down - supply an demand is probably helping this. The iPod Touch has double the storage capacity of the largest iPhone storage capacity since the iPod Touch doesn't include a cell phone - the case has more room for two 16GB Flash drives. More than likely there will be a 32GB iPhone at some point, but I believe it will be a while before we see a 64GB iPhone or larger approaching the storage capacity that is available with an iPod Classic.

The ipod is not a backup/storage device.
You need to copy everything from your old computer to your new one.
The Apple store will do this for you, you can call apple support and they will help you, you can use google.

I agree, sounds like there's something in the port on the Nano. Try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air, or a gently with a wooden toothpick.

Okay, I apologize, belay my last posting :/
This evening after a whole day of working fine (again), I had the same problem, but this time my idea couldn't fix it. One point I'd like to make is to NOT listen to your ears when troubshooting your ipod. When your ipod is turning off, try tuning into the radio. Mine tells me that it isn't recognizing my earbuds and won't even turn on the radio. I'm going to try to clean the connection out, but really? This is freakin' new, Apple people! Maybe its a way for the company to make you purchase new accessories for the ipod they replaced with the recall :/

1 - Ok, to put notes onto your nano, you'll first need to enable it for disk mode. When it's plugged in, go into iTunes, and open up iPod preferences. Check the "Enable disk use" box.
2 - In your Windoze file browser (what you click on files in), locate your iPod, which should be located in My Computer. Open that up, and locate the notes folder. That is where you can put any notes, in the form of text files, that you want.
3 - Make the notes. iPods only recognize plain text and html files. So, when you open the text file up in a word processor, make sure to save it as a plain text file (.txt extension). Then, just drag it onto your iPod.
In disk mode, your iPod will need to be ejected before you unplug it from your computer. Right click on it (in your My Computer folder) and click "Eject"
