I can use the Iphone in Venezuela????????

Hello,
I do not speak well English
But I want to do a question to them, be really hit with the technology of the Iphone and i want buy me it and to bring it to my country.
My doubts are the following one:
1. - I can use the Iphone with any cellular operator GSM?
2. - That I must make to bring it to Venezuela ?
Been thankful by its aid

It might be theoretically possible, but you would have to buy a US AT&T plan with a US address, and then pay international roaming charges, which could be expensive. However, WIFI hotspots should work fine.
You would really be well advised to wait until the iPhone is introduced in Venezuela with local calling plans, local support and repair, etc.

I have a macbook white (Snow leopard), just started using mac, Is there anyway we can use the Iphone Apps( downloaded from ITune) on Mac, they are getting saved in Mobile applications and have ipa extension

The operating systems for iOS devices and for Macs are completely different. Applications written for iOS won't run on a Mac no matter what fiddles you try with it. You can sometime extract data by opening the package, but it still won't do you any good. Look in the Mac App Store in your Applications folder to see if there are Mac versions or similar programs (iTunes login required).

If your phone is locked to AT&T, you can certainly travel & use your phone, but you'll have to get AT&T to provision your account for International use...select the country/countries & plan. This is very expensive, as the roaming partners set the rates & you generally pay through the nose.
And no, you can't use a local sim if your phone is locked to AT&T.

  • Updating MacOS, so I can use the iPhone.

    Hey all
I am looking to get an iPhone, but just found out that I must have 10.5.8 installed on my computer. Currently I have 10.4.11 installed on a Powerbook G4. Someone suggested just upgrading to 10.6, as it is only $29 vs. $129 have seen at a few places on the internet. Problem is that I thought that 10.6 was not compatible with non-intel Macs. I am correct in saying this? Also why the difference in the price 10.5 vs. 10.6? Can't see spending $129 when I might upgrade my computer in a few years if not sooner.

Went to Apple store when system told me in order to run phone I needed to upgrade iTunes to 10.1.
    Correct.
I needed to upgrade software to Snow Leopard to run 10.1.
Incorrect. You only need Leopard. However, since Apple no longer sells Leopard they sold you what they had that would work, albeit without knowing your machine wasn't fully up to specifications as regard to RAM.
Spent the $179 for Snow Leopard
That much? The retail box set is only $129. [http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC680Z/A]
Went to install Snow Leopard and couldn't as it needs at least 1GB ram. Mac Mini has 512.
That's low even for running Tiger which you're doing now. RAM is cheap. Post on the Mini hardware forum for your model and you'll get recommendations.
    Where did I go wrong?
Want my essay? Apple is pretty narrow about compatibility. Almost invariably the newest gadgets require the newest systems which require the newest computers, and Apple only sells the newest. For somebody like me perpetually running old equipment I would never buy any other Apple gadget unless it too matched the generation of my computer equipment. So let's say I upgrade to a 5 year old computer and want an ipod. I have to find a 5 year old ipod (not easy) and a 5 year old operating system (not easy). That's asking for too many planets in alignment. When I bought a mp3 player I did not get an iPod. I got a Sansa Clip that has its own issues running on Macs, but I was able to find workarounds for that.
Apple's answer to your question is you went wrong wanting to run a new phone on a 4 year old computer running a 5 year old system. Fortunately you can upgrade system without having to buy a whole new computer, but will have to spring a few tens of dollars for more RAM.

  • How can I use the iPhone i bought here in the US in the philippines?

i have an iphone and i was just wondering how can i can use the iphone i bought here in the united states to the philippines? is it even possible? please help me. thanks!

Yes, but extremely expensive - get an international roaming plan from AT&T.
If you mean use it with a local carrier, then no - all iPhones sold in the US are carrier-locked to AT&T. You're better off selling the phone to someone in the US and buying one in the Philippines.

  • Can you use the iPhone wirelessly without activating AT&T?

FIrst, I HATE AT&T, the coverage is awful and I am very happy with Verizon. I would like to use the iPhone as more of a PDA, and having a PDA with wireless connectivity would be great.
Do you have to activate the phone plan, or can you just use it with a wireless connection?
Any chance they will eventually offer it with other carriers?
    Thanks
    John

Well you can be sure Apple will not make a product for Verizon for at least five years, as that is how long its contract lasts with ATT. That contract prevents Apple from allowing the iPhone to work on anybody else's network, and from making any phones for non-GSM networks. The only other GSM network in the US is T-Mobil. SO I suspect Apple can make a non iPhone for T-Mobile before its deal with ATT expires.
Also, you can try going to ATT and telling them you want the iPhone, however, you will not provide them your social security number, and ask are there any options available to you. They may tell you that you can use the iPhone as a Go-Phone (they are not adversing this, but it is in their policy manual). After a month, cancel the go phone service (as there is no contract). Also, ATT generally allows you to cancel a contract with 30 days. So they might just let you cancel the contract, and your iPhone will probably still work (the non phone features).

  • Using the iPhone without the activation

Do you know if I can use the iPhone only as an iPod? (Without any phone line)
I just don't want to buy the iPod Touch because next year I will start using the phone...

You can't use the phone for any purpose except emergency calls before activation.
The iPod, Safari, Mail, Weather, etc will be unaccessible.

  • How do I change the icloud account on my iphone? I want to use the same account for all my apple devices (macbook air and imac and iphone). I can't see where I can amend the iphone account because it is in grey?

I want to use the same account for all my apple devices (macbook air, imac and iphone). I can't see how I can amend the iphone account because it is in grey? I also can't remember the password for this account so i can't even delete it and start again?
    Help!
    Thanks

Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud.  In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens.  Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device.  It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days.  When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question.  However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload).  Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this.  If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account.

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

I doubt the phone is locked to GCI in any way
Well, you're wrong, & in fact not only is it locked, GCI does not offer unlocking for iPhones.
Fact is your post won't help the OP.
And you are 100% sure its locked to them? How can you know this? While GCI does not offer unlocking that does not mean the phone is actually locked to it. Get off your high horse.
Its possible the original owner had an unlocked phone. he was using with GCI. Or that GCI doesn't actually have locked phones. Seeing as they don't even have their own infrastructure but instead use AT&T's I doubt they'd have iPhones specifically locked to them and that would be the reason they do not offer unlocking (because there's nothing for them to unlock). And just to clarify, I'm not saying for a fact its not locked to them. It very well maybe be, but without knowing more about the phone and going by the fact GCI uses AT&T infrastrucure its possible its not locked. But here's no way to say for sure either way.
Trying a Sim card from AT&T or another carrier might just help the OP if its actually unlocked or locked to AT&T rather than GCI.

Do you mean that you removed the phone from the 'manage devices' section of your iTunes account ? If you do then that won't stop you being able to purchase items on your phone - you only need to be logged into an account to be able to purchase with it.
If you do mean the 'manage devices' section then you can associate, or re-associate, a device (or computer) by using iTunes Match, or automatic downloads, or redownloading past purchases on it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

If you are saying that you both have iCloud accounts and use the same icloud ID, then yes, the contacts will be deleted.  The idea is that all devices using the same icloud ID are kept in sync.  You need to use different IDs.  You can keep the same iTunes ID so you can share the songs and apps.  But use different icloud IDs.

  • How can someone use a stolen iphone? does erasing the phone (which I feel like I should do) make it easier for the thief to use the iphone?  If I don't erase it, it doesn't seem like anyone should be able to use the phone because of my password.

how can someone use a stolen iphone? does erasing the phone (which I feel like I should do) make it easier for the thief to use the iphone?  If I don't erase it, it doesn't seem like anyone should be able to use the phone because of my password. Also, is it possible to retrieve anything that has been sent to the phone (i.e. text messages) since it was stolen through icloud? The "find my iphone" app says the device is offline but it rings when I call my number -- any idea how that would be the case? Thanks!!

You have a password, so good move on your part.  Whether you erase it or the thief does, they still get to use the iPhone as theirs.  Which is more important (pick one), protecting your data or punishing the thief?
Ringing occurs at the carrier.  Chances are you're going to voicemail after only two or three rings.  If you have an iCloud backup also a good move.  Re-read my question in the first paragraph.
