Hello Likhil, '''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
Thank you.

  • Firefox started crashing a week ago and now I can't type in a foreign language (Korean) when I can on other web browsers like IE or chrome..help!

    The language bar is working just fine. And, I can see that the setting has changed to the other language but it just won't type in firefox. It keeps typing in English. It works in word or other web browsers, so I'm assuming this only happens in firefox. So, then, what is the issue?

    In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
    Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
    Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

  • How can i type a foreign language in fireworks cs3?

    Hi,
    I am trying to type in some Indian languages - Hindi, Kannda, etc. on my Fireworks file. I am simply using Google Transliterate to generate the text, then copying and pasting on to FW (CS3). But the text appears badly formatted - not completely garbled, but the accents are shifted.
    Why is this happening? And how can one insert different language texts inside an english language FW file?
    Thanks,
    V

    Thanks for the helpful hint, but it didn't work. The imported file also has the same character shift going on. Also, when I import the file, the font automatically changed to Tunga - which is the default MS font for the Kannda script. Everything looks good in Transliterate, but once I bring it to Fireworks, the characters and accents get separated.
    Thanks,
    V

  • Using a foreign language with the Java I/O, and saving to flat file.

    I want to use a foreign language in my program, in particular, russian. I want to be able to input the russian text into a GUI and then save the data in a flat file as well as retrieve it again. I am able to save some type of data to the flat file but it is unreadable. Question marks or some other unreadable characters appear instead.
    I am also not able to write in a foreign font. Can someone give me some advice for how to input a foreign language into with a GUI, save the information in a flat file, and retrieve it again.

    If you have got a String in Java somehow regardless of interior encoding mode, you can write it in a text file with an encoding you would like (e.g., UTF8).
    //import java.io.*;
    String str = "ABCEDFG";
    try{
       BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(new FileOutputStream("out.txt"),"UTF8"));
       bw.write(str);
       bw.close();
    }catch(IOException ioe){
        //process
    }

  • Microsoft Word Templates in Foreign Language

    I just bought Microsoft Office 2008 for my Macbook (with Leopard) and I was looking at the Project Gallery templates and if I open up any of the templates for Microsoft Word, all of the words are in different languages and I cannot even look at the template and get ideas of what to use them for. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to change everything to English? Also, I downloaded a demo of extra stationary for Mail, and again, all of the templates are in a different language. If anyone could help, that would be great, thanks.

    That isn't a foreign language. It is "desktop publishing nonsense". It is just filler text to show you what real text might look like. It always starts with "Lorem Ipsum" or something like that. They have been using this text for many, many years. It is kind of Microsoft's way of subtly telling people that Word is now good enough to use for desktop publishing. If you double-click on that text, it will go away and you can type your own text in there.

  • How can i set predictive text to a foreign language

    I'm new to apple and iPhones. I've got everything setup in English but I frequently want to send text and/or email messages in French. When I do this predictive text jumps in and changes things to what it thinks I want in English. e.g. if I type tous it predicts I want toys and inserts it accordingly. How can I set predictive text to a foreign language.
    (p.s. my wife's iPad works fine as it has a button to press for alternative language but I don't see anything similar for iPhone)

    Add the French keyboard.

  • FDM - Errors with Foreign Language Characters in Load Files

    For our Netherlands data import file, our source account decriptions contain the character "ë". The account decription is not loaded to HFM, but we are receiving error messages when importing. Is there a way to ignore foreign language characters? Another post suggested "Administration", "Configuation Settings", "File Encoding Type" then set to "Unicode", but the version I am using does not have this option. Version is 11.1.1.3.
    Thank you!
    Melody

    Hello Melody,
    If you are using FDM v11.1.1.3.00 the file-encoding is defaulted to Unicode. It might be helpful to contact support.
    It could be your DB isn't setup to handle unicode characters (in this event the information would be stored in the SQL*Loader or MSSQL Logs). It could also be the file you are trying to import actually isn't "unicode" but more of a local ANSI/ASCII format.
    Most 'European' characters were supported in that release; and I know several clients that use it as expected.
    Thank you,

  • Foreign languages

    My customer has asked that I come up w something that will interchange the english text in my vi to a foreign language.  He said something about including an *.ini file.  Not sure I have a full grasp on what he wants.  I think what he was getting at was to create the vi in english and include an ini file that would some how convert it to the language in the ini file.  ie...english charaters to say Japaneese...This would include labels on the front panel as well as the error codes if any are generated.   Would this be a daunting task??
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Clint
    There's some documentation on this included in the help files of most versions of LabVIEW.
    The basic idea is to export all strings from the VI into a VI string file, translate the file and then re-import the strings to the VI. This would be a little daunting but it's perfectly possible.
    Does that help?

  • Captivate 5 English-to-Foreign-Language Font Errors

    I am working with a large client who has experienced translation errors in Captivate 4 transfers to Captivate 5. The font they've used didn't translate into Chinese, and when the course was updating to Cap 5, everything basically broke.
    My inquiry is about which Captivate fonts can translate into the top 15 foreign languages most widely used in BOTH Captivate 4 and Cap 5? Has anyone done any research into this area? Does anyone knows which fonts DO and DON'T translate fully given all the necessary symbols and characters in both versions?
    Thanks for your help!
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    Welcome to captivate forum.
    I did not get the scenario exactly.
    Are you facing the issues with the text caption font, when captivate 4 project created in english version tried to open in captivate 5 chinese version?
    Is it with the font type or caption text?
    Regards,

    I need to add a foreign language fonts. How do I do it?

    Are you really not able to type it right here on this site like I can below?  The top row of keys is
    (HM QWERTY) ճւերտյւիոպ
    (Western QWERTY) խվէրդեըիոբ
    I am wondering if you are perhaps trying to type into MS Word?  That app tends to be defective.  If so, try selecting the text and setting the font to Mshtakan, which is a complete Armenian font that comes with OS X.

  • Replacing form and dialog text to foreign language

    Hi
    I'm trying to translate some english text to foreign language, but I just cant get it to work in webforms and popup dialog boxes.  It works fine with text that I have typed on the page, but the system-generated text just stay's unchanged
    please help!      This is the javascript that works fine with all text except system-generated test:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    checkLoad();
    function checkLoad(){
    if (document.readyState === "complete") {
    document.body.innerHTML = document.body.innerHTML.replace(/Not set/g, "Ikki &aacute;sett");
    } else {
    setTimeout('checkLoad();', 1500)
    </script>
    Would like the text "Not set" in event bookings (when capacity is not defined) to say "Ikki ásett"  ... but it just does'nt work ..    And dialog pop-ups like "Please enter ..."  to be translated to  "Vinarliga útfyll"

    what do you mean by convert? if you really mean translate then no. there are no good tools in existence anywhere for computer translation from one language into another. that's very hard. there are some online tools like this one http://translate.google.com/# but they do poor job of actual translation if you need to translate actual text and not single words as anybody who used them can testify.

  • Webpages often show foreign language even after English made preference. How do I fix that?

    When I go to websites, the text is in either a foreign language or wingdings. I never know when this will happen. Web sites that have never done this before are now doing it. I have to close Firefox and use Internet Explorer which I don't like. I have gone to options and made English (US) my preference, restarted the computer, but no change. This happens on websites I use often. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Thank you.

    This issue can be caused by an old bitmap version of the Helvetica or Geneva font or (bitmap) fonts that Firefox can't display in that size.<br />
    Firefox can't display some old bitmap fonts in a larger size and displays gibberish instead.<br />
    You can test that by zooming out (View > Zoom > Zoom Out, Ctrl -) to make the text smaller.<br />
    <br />
    Uninstall (remove) all variants of that not working font to make Firefox use another font or see if you can find a True type version that doesn't show the problem.<br />
    There have also been fonts with a Chinese name reported that identify themselves as Helvetica, so check that as well.<br />

  • Spell + Grammar check a foreign language properly.

    The method provided in Help is useless. I tested it in French; it's a joke. Someone finally gave me the right way.
    Log out (know your password first, so you can log in and out). Then go to the Black apple in the left upper corner and choose System Peferences>International>whichever foreign language you need to write in and move that to the top of the list. Then create your new document in the usual manner and spell + grammar check in the usual manner. File your document away in your Document folder.
    Log out of there, log back into your English language environment and you're done. It's a little heavy-handed workflow-wise, but at least it works.
    If you know of and/or have been successfully using an easier method, please let me know.
    So far as I know, MS Word beats Apple by a mile in this particular respect.
    I mentioned it to the Apple team just in case they feel compelled to help. Let's hope they do. Soon.

    Logging out and back in certainly isn't necessary.
    Changing your primary language is required if you want to change the default language used when creating new documents from the built-in templates.
    While the Help instructions are somewhat misleading, they are correct for some situations.
    Remember that Pages treats language as a style property, such as underline. So the techniques
    you'd use to get underlined text generally apply to changing the language:
    1) Change the language with the text inspector and start typing. Any text you type at that point will be in the specified language. (If you click in a header or a text box, or even elsewhere in existing text and start typing, that will still have the default language.)
    2) Select a range of already typed text, and change its language.
    3) Create a new character or paragraph style with your desired language as its only property. Use that anytime you want this particular language.
    4) Change the definition of all the character and paragraph styles to have your desired language, and save as a custom template. This is most useful for people that want their interface in one language but type all of their text in another.
    As for grammar checking - I assume you're referring to Proofreading. Proofreading isn't grammar checking. It simply checks for certain basic errors, regardless of the language. It doesn't do sentence analysis. I think it works as well in French as it does in English: "C'est la la vie." => "Il semble que le mot « la » soit utilisé deux foisde suite. Supprimez le second mot."
