I cannot access gmail

I can access gmail from IE and Chrome. Not from Mozilla. I tried the cookies thing and the safe made thing and still get this.
The page isn't redirecting properly
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.

Hi Justin,
I guess then that you have read and tried all suggestions in
* [[Websites say cookies are blocked - Unblock them]]
Can you please confirm you also cleared cookies. I have have a gmail account and can still access it. I presume gmail is the only site you have noticed this error on.
# Can you get to the google site with any of these links
#* https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?
#* Or the numeric one for Google 74.125.142.84 then click the +you option
#* (avoid using your bookmark)
# After
## Setting Firefox to only open with this site and google tabs (Risk reduction, close other tabs & Windows)
## Try temporarily disabling all security software,
## In Firefox's safe mode
## Attempt the step 1 again.
# Finally if still no luck repeat but this time in Windows Safe mode with networking. (IIRC method changed in Win 8 will check and add info later)
Just for info it is unlikely to be a DNS issue but this is a good article should it turn out to be

  • Since I disabled features in the people widget, I cannot access gmail

I was so annoyed at the people widget covering up my emails that I disabled all the features IN it instead of the whole widget (which I have since learned how to do) and now I cannot access gmail with firefox. I can with internet explorer though, but prefer to use firefox.

-> Tap '''ALT''' key or press '''F10''' to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled'''
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
    -> Update ALL your Firefox Plug-ins https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted/Incompatible Toolbars
-> go to Tools Menu -> Clear Recent History -> '''Time range to clear: select "EVERYTHING"''' -> click Details (small arrow) button -> place Checkmarks on '''Cookies, Cache''' -> click '''Clear Now'''
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> in '''Startup''' section click '''Reset to Default''' button
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
    1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Advanced -> Network -> Offline Storage (Cache): click '''Clear Now''' button
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon on SearchBar -> click '''Manage Search Engines''' -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click '''Remove''' -> click OK
    -> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious/Incompatible Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Appearance section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious/Incompatible Themes (Persona) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons and Themes later. Check and tell if its working.

  • I cannot access gmail via Firefox 3.6.22

Because you have upgraded Firefox and seen to it that the new version will not work well with older versions of OS X (mine is 10.4.11) I cannot access my gmail any longer via Firefox. Gmail no longer supports the older Firefox. You are all in cahoots. This kind of planned obsolescence is disgusting. It forces people to continue upgrading and spending. Capitalists! disgusting!

Nope. I have a mac, running OS X 10.4.11, and I can no longer access gmail if I use the Firefox browser. it just spins it wheels. I can however access it no problem with Camino. Sure, not all options are now available to me, but I frankly dont care. I just want to access my mail. No go with Firefox.

  • Cannot access gmail with firefox only with windows explorer

Just installed Firefox on new computer and when going to google web site I cannot access my gmail. I get the message "not a valid gmail address". I can go to google with windows explorwer and there I can get access to my gmail.

    Hi,
You can try to access Gmail without the Gmail labs feature and see if the problem goes away: https://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0
If it works then perhaps a labs feature is problem.

Also, try accessing after clearing the cache: '''Ctrl''' + '''Shift''' + '''Del''' or '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Clear Recent History''', choose '''Everything''' in '''Time range to clear''' and '''Cache''' in '''Details'''.

  • Cannot access gmail on Firefox with Windows 8.1

When I try to access gmail, I get the following message from FireFox:
    "Untrusted Connection"
"If you usually connect to this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.
This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.
mail.google.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because no issuer chain was provided. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)"
Additionally, Firefox offers no other solution to this problem.
This is a new HP laptop with Windows 8.1. My previous laptop had Windows 7 and before that all of the other Windows versions and I've never had a problem accessing Gmail before using Firefox.
I use gmail literally all day long for my work. Please fix this or tell me how to fix it.

hi, in order to know what's going on we probably need more information about the issuer of the failing certificate. please proceed like this:
enter '''chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul''' into the location bar, and in the page that opens, set the server location to "https://mail.google.com" in order to retrieve and view the certificate.
then please report back with the data of the issued by section of the certificate viewer.
    thank you!

  • Cannot access gmail google any of those sites...

Whats going on I can't access gmail or google? This has been going on for about a week now. No browsers work. I'm all updated.

Why would you want to install OSX again? Web mail like gmail, hotmail and yahoo is managed on someone elses server through the internet. You are just using you macbook to access them with your brower. Delete your plist files or empty the caches. Maybe you tried to access them when they were having maintenance.
If I had a penny for everyone re-installing the OS again, I would be a millionare. LOL

  • TB client on W8 machine suddenly cannot access GMAIL account - why? It works from client on other machine and from browser.

It worked fine until 6 days ago - then the machine suddenly could not access the gmail account. Accessing gmail from browser or from Thunderbird on ANOTHER machine works fine.
    Using IMAP and ssl.
I can see this problem has many treads on the web - so it should be known to Mozilla.
    Regards

Lots of thread on the web about "This problem" very few solutions though or you would not be here.
The usual cause is anti virus or firewall. Which is why solutions are thin on the ground. Have you tried starting windows in safe made with networking? and then starting Thunderbird

  • Cannot access gmail

Installed FF today. When trying to log in to my gmail, the login page comes back, enter password again and so on. I never had this problem in IE and if it is not put right quickly,I give up FF.
I tried to reset my password, that did not work.
It is aproblem on this computer as I have tried on another one and it worked on that.

I downloaded Chrome and used it but still kept Firefox as my preferred browser. But after I installed Chrome, it became harder and harder to access my gmail account from Firefox. So, I made every suggested tweak to every part of my system but it did not help. Finally, I uninstalled Chrome and updated everything. But since I uninstalled Chrome, the problem got worse and now it is almost impossible to load Gmail from Firefox.
So, although I have spent hours on forums addressing this problem, nothing helps. Yet I have no trouble with gmail with any other browser, using my same computer and exactly the same settings.
This is very frustrating and time wasting and I wish I could get more direct help from Firefox instead of being left to post a reply into cyberspace.
The Firefox community is very smart and resourceful, and I wish someone from Firefox could see this and address it directly as well. The only thing is, I am not sure this started at Firefox. On lots of the forums, I saw comments taking them to task for the issue. But in my experience it started after using Chrome, even though it actually got worse after I uninstalled Chrome.
Maybe Google is blocking Firefox, rather than Firefox blocking Google.

  • My iMac OS X, v 10.5.8 cannot access gmail in other than Basic mode with ANY version of Firefox. Is there a fix?

For a long time, now, if I use Firefox and try to access my gmail account, it will not open in other tan Basic mode. That is so restrictive that I just use another browser. Safari and Chrome work fine on my iMac OS X, v 10.5.8 -- this is a long standing issue that I have raised in the past with no success whatever.

  • I cannot access gmail from firefox 9 despite dealing with cookies & cache. It opens fine in IE8 but not firefox

I have tried all the google mail suggestions, including allowing www.google.com to send cookies but it makes no difference. I had problems with adblock plus blanking out the text in gmail but uninstalling this cured problem but today I can't get in at all.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Mail cannot access gmail accounts

    I use iOS 7.0.4
Since earlier today, mail stopped working with my (several) Gmail accounts.
I have not changed the password in Gmail or something like that. I tried re-entering the password on the iPhone, deleting and re-creating the account - nothing worked.
I have exactly the same issue on my iPad and Macbook.
iCloud account works, Gmail accounts don't.
Gmail works with other Email clients and the website.
Any idea what I can try to correct the issue?
    Thanks!

I verified this, and I am not using two-factor auhtn on my other devices.
Yes, I am sure I am not using this (maybe I should...
    any other idea?

  • Cannot access gmail from 8130

I just purchased an 8130 from nTelos today and I am using it on their pre-paid service plan.  While trying to set up my gmail account on the phone, it keeps saying that my username and/or password is incorrect, even though I have thoroughly checked for accuracy multiple times.  Does anyone know what could be going on?
