  • Mac Mini - Dual Screen (Keynote Presentation)

Is it possible to set up a Mac mini to use a iWork Keynote presentation with two screens, one showing a primary display and one a secondary display with presenter notes?

Yes I use a "new" mac mini and have dual dsplay setup
I did do my final Bachelor presentation on this very mac mini and keynote, took the mac with me to university, andused the screen and the beamer, had the keynot dual display setup, everything worked like a charm. I had to buy quita a bit of adaptors dor DVI and VGA, but now I am set.

  • My Documents have disappeared since upgrade to iOS 8 in pages - as I use them every day this is an emergency. I seem to activated cloud drive which now means I cannot access my documents  -  why no warning?

ssince installing iiOS 8 and clod drive I have lost the link to Mac micro and all my pages documemts! This is an emergency!

It seems as if the two systems need to be installed together, i.e. Yosemite and IOS 8.
However, like you, I have installed IOS 8 on my iPad and iPhone, and now I find I cannot access my Pages, Keynote, Numbers and MacFamilyTree documents on my iMac and MacBook Pro until Yosemite is released.
Apple have trumpeted the closer integration of the two operating systems, yet they have not released the two simultaneously. This is going to cause a lot of problems for users of iCloud, and seems to be an own goal for Apple.

  • How do I share a Keynote presentation when iWork ceases?

My keynote presentation is enormous so e-mailing is not really an option, the recipient is new to all things iPad, so what is the easiest way to share a presentation?
I know I can upload it to my computer but that seems unweildy.
If they are ditching iWork they should have a solution, but iCloud only seems to work with your own documents and devices....

    Not done, sorry.
so sending by mail didn't work either, because the Keynote 13 file could not be attached to a mail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Keynote 09 can as can PowerPoint). This is ridiculus. This is Apple trying really hard to make it impossible for people to work with their software

  • The iWork Public Beta allowed me to share Keynote presentations with anyone via the web. How can I share a Keynote presentation online via iCloud? Must the presentation be downloaded to view?

The iWork Public Beta allowed me to share Keynote presentations with anyone via the web. Now Apple tells me the Public Beta is being replaced by iCloud. How can I share a Keynote presentation online via iCloud? Must the presentation be downloaded to view?

iCloud is not designed for sharing data with other people: you will need a third-party alternative such as DropBox or Sugarsync.
More details here (written for migrators from MobileMe but the basic information may be helpful):

  • Is there a way of giving access to Keynote presentations stored in iCloud without disclosing my AppleID? Thanks

My Keynote presentations are backed up to iCloud. I would like to be able to authorise selected others to access and download these files but do not want to give them my AppleID. In iDisk and Mobile me, one could set public folders.
I could upload the presentations to another file sharing service but this is a slow process and the files are already on iCloud
Apple in its current focus is great on serving the individual user but often one wants to share or collaborate with others.Bring back iWorrk.com say I.
    Thanks for your help

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might consider DropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage. (not all these alternatives offer all the services previously provided by iDisk)

  • I have several keynote presentations on my computer but now am getting the message that the program cannot be installed "because of a problem." All this started when I bought microsoft office for  University (2011). What is the problem and how can I fix

I have several keynote presentations on my newish computer but am not unable to open them. I get the message "keynote cannot be installed because of a problem" (unspecified). Does anybody know why this happend? Does it related to using Microsoft "University"  2011? How can I fix it? Thanks!

    Thank you for your reply.
I just tried the 3-step process suggested on http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2431353
This all started when my mouse/thumb clicker was going crazy. Found an expanded battery. Obviously need a new battery. Unfortunately must wait 6 weeks to get my new battery. Meanwhile, I'm running my computer on AC only, as there appears to be no other option. I was informed that when using AC only (no battery) some high-energy-use programs like Office might not function.
Do you know if there is away to use office even when just using AC and not having the battery in? I'm doubting if I have other OSX problems because everything else works: email, safari, itunes, iphoto, quicktime, etc . . . . ?

  • Accessing a Keynote presentation on iPad

How do I access a Keynote presentation on my iPad that I created on my MAC and saved into iCloud?

Go to Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data and make sure it's turned on, and that Keynote is turned on there as well.  Then go to Settings>Keynote and make sure Use iCloud is turned on.  Then you should be able to see your iCloud Keynote documents when you launch the app.

  • How can I send a copy of my Keynote Presentation to someone else so that it will include my slide notes (uploading it to iWork seems to exclude my notes and only shows the slides). A quick response would be greatly appreciated!

How can I send a copy of my Keynote Presentation to someone else so that it will include my slide notes (uploading it to iWork seems to exclude my notes and only shows the slides). A quick response would be greatly appreciated!

I'd try Dropbox (http://www.dropbox.com/), which you and your recipient both have to have. It's easy, and the free version would probably be enough. There are any number of other services available for emailing large files (google that). Of course, your recipient must have KN installed to be able to view it correctly, or can view it in PP, but with some loss, primarily transitions/animations.

  • Error when trying to access keynote presentation saved as ppt

When I export my keynote presentation as a power point (.ppt), I get an error message that states "there was an error accessing Macintosh HD:Users:" and then the rest of the file path. I am trying to save the file onto the desktop but it doesn't matter where I try and save it, I still get the error.
    Thanks
    Craig

While I don't know why this happens, and you're not the only one with this problem, it has never happened to me. I don't think it's because of clean living , but perhaps something problematic about one or more of your slides, but perhaps not all of them. See if you can break up your presentation into smaller parts, try exporting a few of of them. If one or the other group works fine, it'll help you narrow down the problem.

  • I cannot open a keynote presentation sent to me.

I need to update and work on a Keynote presentation that was sent to me, but for some reason I cannot open it. I recently downloaded v6.1. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I hit this wall. The only solution seemed to be to delete keynote and redownload it from the App Store. Hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to hide Accessibility Voiceover Cursor when connecting to Bluetooth Remote Control in Keynote presentation on iPad?

Hi team, I would like to know
When I use my Satechi Bluetooth pointer (linked in Accessibility mode) with keynote on iPad there is a box around the items in my slides. Is there a way to remove this box?
like these comments on this video
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3Fw9m7UuY&list=UUajGeviMMa-piNbYJehhFmA&index= 3
I didn't get any of those boxes for 2 years but if I remember well it just started to appear after either upgrading to Ios8 or updated Keynote, can't recall exactly.
Any idea on how to solve this?
Thanks so much for your time and help in this!

  • Is there a way to toggle to a web browser while in Keynote presenter view?

I teach at a number of research classes at a University and I prefer to use Keynote as a teaching tool. My teaching requires that I access websites regularly throughout the the class.
Here is what I'm currently doing:
    1. Before the class starts, I open each website we'll be using during the class as window and assign the window to it's own desktop. So if I have four websites the students will be accessing during class, I'll assign those four websites to four distinct Mission Control desktops (I'm using the 10.8.4 OS X).
    2. I run my presentiation from Keynote using the play key, but without access presentation mode.
    3. When I need to access a website while teaching, I [ALT]-[TAB] out of Keynote, select the appropriate page from Mission Control, and demo that page.
    4. When I'm done, I simply click the Keynote icon in the dock and resume my presentation.
This system works and I have no real complaints with it - except that I cannot take advantage of Keynote's presentation tools. I've tried any number of ways to toggle to a web browser while in presention mode without success. While in presentation mode, if I [ALT]-[TAB] out of the presentation, it simply stops the presentation and the web page doesn't appear on the projection display (because I'm not mirroring my displays) and the only way to get it to work is to re-mirror my displays.
I tried using the X command in Keynote, which is the toggle between displays, but no matter what I did, I cannot get the webpage to show up on the projection display.
Is there an easier way to do this? Bear in mind, I'm not merely showing webpages, but I'm actually interacting with them (performing research on these pages) so they have to be operational. Right now I'm assuming presentation mode is just not going to work for this kind of scenario.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

place as many shapes as you need on a slide and create a hyperlinks to your website
Keynote preferences > slide show;    select  >  allow Expose and others to use screen
select the shape and in Inspector > Hyperlink; select the enable as hyperlink box, then type in the address
use alt > tab to go back to Keynote
before playing Keynote, open and move the web browser on to the projector screen to position it ready for use

  • How do I give a large Keynote presentation from my new iPad?

Currently using a MacBook Pro. Trying very hard to pursue a seamless transition to using a Gen 2 iPad.
I can use iWork for the documents and can access photos and video off of the cloud. This one issue does seem to be stopping me. I frequently give a Keynote presentation that uses a series of video clips. These clips range from 14 seconds to 5 minutes in length.
I doubt I can even fit this amount of media onto my iPad. It does not seem possible to acess an external HD to use to feed the Keynote presentation to a projector or large monitor. Will this one issue stop me from transitioning to an iPad as my work device of choice?
    Thank you.

There are some email services that have a space limit for attached documents

  • Keynote presentations that will support small animations.  How can I do it.  Understand there might be some software which can be used via my desktop but not direct from iPad.

I wish to insert small animations into a Keynote presentation which I can make from my desktop, although I will ultimately wish to deliver from my ipad.  Simon thought there could be some software available to make this happen.  Other people have said rename .gif files as .mov files, but cannot seem to do that.  Many thanks for any help.  M argret

This is a user to user support forum.  We are all iphone users just like you.
You are not addressing Apple here at all.
This is an odd way to ask your fellow iphone users for help. Berating oterh users will not help you.
    "it's too fragile"
No it is not.  i have never damaged one, nor has anyone I know.
" U loose data when Ur phone is locked"
No you don't.  Why do you think this?
"and there is no customer support!!!  "
Wrong yet again.  Apple has an 800 number and they have many retail stores and they have support articles that you can access using the search bar. Or you can contact them throgh express lane online
"but I will go back with Blackberry "
    Please do.
    Good ridance
