I cannot access my library from my old p.c. Please help if you can
I had a PC that died on me after many, many years of loyal and dependable service. I purchased a new PC and now I can't access my ITunes library from it.
Please help
Restore it from a backup, or use these instructions to redownload your purchases through the iCloud, or if the old PC's hard drive still works, put it in an enclosure and copy the library off.

If I try to sync --I get the message that ipod can be synced w only one computer and if I sync with this library (which only shows new purchases from itunes) it will replace everything that is currently on ipodWhy can't the songs be transferred to the device? Is it because they are not authorized? Were these 25 tracks purchased/downloaded with the same account you have used to authorize the PC/new iTunes library?

As I was installing the Windows 7 on my Imacwith the bootcamp and stated how I wanted to divide the drive I put 160, but I want to add more space because of the adobe software it will not install two of them, so how can I add more on the drive space to from 160 to 250? please help thank you.

I copied iPhoto library from old Mac to NAS. I cannot access the library from my new Mac
I've a nice new MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.5) with iPhoto version 9.5.1. I decided to move my iPhoto library from my old MBP (running iPhoto 7.1.5) to a Synology NAS and expected I'd be able to open it from the new Mac.
I can see the library on the NAS from the new MAC. Unfortunately when I select it using option key on iPhoto launch or trying to open directly from the library in Finder, I end up with iPhoto open and showing "No photos". I've tried using iPhoto Library Manager and this can't select the library either.
I can open the library on the NAS from my old Mac OK.
Does anyone have an idea what I'm missing here?iPhoto Libraries cannot be located on a NAS driver. Read this Apple document, iPhoto: Issues with FAT32-formatted drives - Apple Support, and note the last sentence of the first paragraph.
They must be located on a drive formatted OS X Extended (journaled) with ownership set to be ignored (if an external HD). A NAS is a headless computer with a file system and file access requirements that are not compatible with iPhoto's Library structure. -
I have a macbook pro w exisitng iPhoto library. I now have Canon printer and loaded Canon software for same. I cannot access iPhoto library for use from Canon software. I can print from iPhoto directly to new printer without problem. How can I use iPhoto library with Canon software? I would like to try the software to see which I prefer...
Simply export some photos from iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and experiment.
Without telling us even what this program is, not to mind what it does, that's the best anyone can suggest.

If this has never worked, can you goto http://EPMAMACHINE:19091/awb
where EPMAMACHINE is the ip address or name and see if you get the login prompt. If the login prompt here is working and you can login properly then I suggest you re-deploy workspace and the web server configuration from the config tool.

and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.

Hi. I have an iphone 4 that I have just installed ios7 onto. I had backed up the phone prior.
After the software install the phone rebooted and showed the 'Hello' setup. I am stuck because as part of the setup it asks me to 'restore from backup via itunes". I dont understand why i need to do this as I thought the ios7 install procedure would restore the phone with it's content.
I tried to restore from backup but it says I cant because there is not enough space on the phone. If I connect the phone to itunes, it shows that the phone has all my content, especially since iphoto launches and I can see all the photos it wants to download to iphoto off the phone.
I am caught in a loop. My phone has it's content, but the startup procedure on the phone will not let me progress until I have restored from backup via itunes. But it cant because the phone has no space!!
The only other option it gives is 'Set up as new phone".
Can anyone help please. Thanks.You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I recently upgraded to a ner version of itunes, at the same time, i reset my ipod software, which has now been sent off for repair. Itunes wont let me play approz 1000 songs that i have purchased.
It says to provide a password to authorise, only problem is, i no longer use that account ID, despite still knowing my password.
I can authorise more recent purchases, as that ID is current. Is there any way i can get old songs back, or have itunes ripped me off out of about £800? I dont understand why this happened.I dont understand why this happened.

No need to do that. Just edit your account with any new info if you move or get a new email address/ISP.

PeteThere are a number of other threads from people reporting a problem with a blank Updates tab in the App Store app - it looks like there is a problem at Apple's end which they need to fix.
Some posts are suggesting that you if you go into the Purchased tab in the App Store app you might be able to update the apps from there, though you will need to scroll through the list to find those with updates and individually update them. -
Cannot transfer iTunes library from old hard drive. Pls help.
My old laptop is broken, so I purchased a "rocketfish" housing so I can extract the info from the hard drive through USB.
The problem is I cannot figure out how to merge my library from the old laptop hard drive to the one on my PC. The iTunes file is there, and I've tried to drag and drop it into the file on my "C" drive, but it still dosen't show up in iTunes.
Please help if you can.OK what you can do is use the File -> Add to library... command and then point to the music folder on the rocketfish drive (or you can just drag and drop the folders from the external onto your iTunes library window). This will add them, but not playcounts, playlists, ratings, etc. They will come in as new.
The other thing is, if your iTunes preferences are set to copy added files to the iTunes folder, then when you add them, they will be copied from the external to your internal drive. So you need enough room to hold all the files. Alternatively, you can uncheck that option and have them added to the library but they will remain on the external drive. But to play the files you need to have the drive connected and powered up.

If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.

I have inadvertently changed a file permission setting. When opening Aperture I get the following; "Aperture cannot access this library. To use this library make sure it's file permissions are set correctly". I am an old dude new to Mac OS. Looked in settings but have no idea how to allow file sharing to myself. I have been using Aperture actively for 6 weeks. I'm the only one using this Mac. What up?

This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. You can demote it back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Drag or copy — do not type — the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:20 ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ 2> /dev/null
Be sure to select the whole line by triple-clicking anywhere in it. You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. You don't need to post the warning. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar. A text window opens.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
