I cannot activate LR5 and find 2 hosts file in html. not sure how to proceed from now
i cannot activate lr5
Contacted help desk and found the info on the site but i ma supposed to copy the hosts file and remove reference to adobe activation. issue is that i see two host file but in html format. how am i supposed to do this? sorry, am not a techy.
What operating system are you on?
Win: - How can I reset the Hosts file back to the default?
Mac: - restore orginal host file | Apple Support Communities
Or get in contact with the support of the Operating system and ask them to guide on getting the Host file restored.
It is a System Related file, they should be able to assist you in restoring it to default.

My iPad only has a blank screen. If you press the two buttons to try to get it to restart all you get is a faint light for al few seconds and then it goes back to a black screen. I did try to restore by hooking up to my mac, but I still have nothing.
First thing to try is a reboot of your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Hold those buttons a long time before letting them go. Also it might be best to leave the iPad on the charger overnight before resetting it.
If this doesn't work, it's time to make an appointment at an Apple store for a Consultation. -
I am having trouble installing photoshop Lightroom. The program is installed and has some sections blocked off. I have the S/N #... I need it to be confirmed and activated so i can receive an email to activate the system to my computer. I am not sure how to go about doing so.
If you have a serial number, you simply need to enter it into the proper fields.
Since you don't say what version of Lightroom, and what sections are "blocked off", let me guess that you have Lightroom CC, and you need to enter the serial number to turn it into Lightroom 6. Simple but true, have attempted to enter password as instructed but where/how do I enter?
After several attempts and failed it now is extending next attempts by 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and so on

After a certain number of unsuccessful tries (maybe 10?) you'll be locked out. You'll have to restore the iPad. Since it sounds like you havent really used it, this shouldn't be a problem. Do you know how to do this?

I have read some posts about changing the permissions in the iTunes folder, but not quite sure I understand. Which files should be granted read and write access? Am I in danger of doing further damage to my iTunes folder?
Okay i just figured this out and am willing to help. In finder, go to your Itunes media folder, wherever it is located, there are several files in it, (music, movies, podcasts, mobile aplications, ect...) you should find a folder that is labeled "downloads", right click it and choose "get info". at the bottom of the popup window, theres a section labeled "sharing and permissions" expand it. make sure all the users there read "read & write" close the popup window and make sure it saves. you should have no more problems. If the problem still persists, make sure the folders that are before the "downloads" folder have permission as well. If it STILL persists, exit itunes, delete the "downloads" folder, and restart itunes. Hope I helped!

i just upgraded my iphone 3gs to ios 6 not sure if it updated but now when i turn on my phone it says automatically that i need to connect it to itunes using the USB port but when i connect it it comes up as new hardware and cannot find a program/software for my device even though i have the latest itunes on my computer. i have tried reinstalling itunes but it still cannot find my phone and now i cannot use my phone as it is stuck on the sync to itunes screen

Since updating the recent OS on my iPad my location services do not work. Maps "Cannot determine location" and "Find Me" is running in circles. How can I delete the update on my iPad???
You can't delete the update and your problem probably is not in the Update.
Check to see if Location Services is turned ON. (Settings > Privacy > Location Services)
What model iPad Mini do you have? WiFi or WiFi + Cellular
Have you recently changed WiFi routers? -

Adobe Activation error I bought a used CS2 application with serial numbers: it loads fine and works, but I cannot activate it and it will run out in 26 days. I bought it on ebat for 40 dollars. I am willing to pay a royalty fee. In 2006, or so, I bought a student version of CS2 at the College bookstore legally and registered it and it is still running on my 2002 eMac, but my Mac cannot communicate with my wireless printer I just got. So I looked for a copy of CS2 to put on my second hand IBM PC.

I am trying to assign delegation to a user and I receive the following message.
The delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate Send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permission to perform this operation on this object.
We are using 2010 for the server and client. There are only specific mailboxes that this is happening for after being migrated from Lotus Notes. The user can use their mailfile fine however it is just the delegation that appears corrupted somehow.
I'm not sure how to fix this. I have checked the access through the security tab in ad and that looks fine.
Any help would be appreciated.I did some more digging and I solved it.
This would be the solution:
In Active Directory Users and Computers
-Click on VIEW
-Click on ADVANCE FEATURES (this is important otherwise you won't see
the complete list in the next steps)
-Click on the USERS container
-Find the problem user's account
-Right mouse the account and click on PROPERTIES
-Click on the SECURITY tab
-In the top box, click on the SELF account
-In the bottom portion of the screen make sure the READ PERSONAL
INFORMATION & WRITE PERSONAL INFORMATION should both be checked for
ALLOW
If you can compare the permissions for 'SELF' with another user you probably should set them accordingly to be safe. I noticed that for the user where setting delegates (SOB) did
not work, more than those 2 permissions were missing.

i backup my iphone on my pc and copy backup file into drive D then i setup new OS on my pc. after that i copy the backup file into itunes backup folder but itunes can't find the backup file to restore my iphone. how can i restore my iphone?

I found the answer to my question.
When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer. -
Just got iPhone 5, get home and find iCloud Outlook Add-in does not install under Windows XP. I am loathe to upgrade to Windows Vista/7/8 just yet. Can I obtain and use an earlier version of iCloud Outlook Add-in? My iPad II synchronizes!
There is no 'earlier' version that supports XP. iCloud launched with Vista/7 support only.

I installed the LR CC, signed in and out, restarted computer, UN-installed CC and installed again, signed in and out several more times. Nothing!!! I have Lr5 and it works fine, Lr6/CC will not open. I'm lost!!
