I cannot add events to my calender, no  plus  sign

I have done all the updates and still no plus sign to add events.  What am I doing wrong?

To add events into calendar you have to have an account with iCloud and have calendar enabled on iCloud. To do this you have to enable the calendar, go to settings on your iPhone then tap on iCloud, if you don't have an account with iCloud then make one or if not signed in, sign into iCloud, after that toggle the calendar on. You're set, you can now add events into calendar.
Reply if this works.

  • Cannot add events to my calendar

Cannot add events to my calendar no plus sign button like manual shows

Just spoke with a Senior Tech at Apple Support who solved the problem, for me at least, and it involved disabling Calendar under my Gmail account.
Settings -> Mail, Contact, Calendars -> Accounts.
One of my accounts is Gmail.
Gmail -> Mail, Calendars, Notes. Mine were all turned 'ON'
    Turn OFF Calendars.
    Voila.
Go back to Home->Calendar-> and the Plus + sign is there and editing is fine!!!!!

  • Getting message on ICAL that I cannot add events to mail calendar

I have always been able to add events to  my ICAL calendar.   Getting a message saying I cannot add events....what's up?
    Thanks!

you may also want to try running the discs Apple gives you when you get your computer.
, there you can reinstall iCal and everything should work brand new for the app.

  • I have lost my calendar and now I cannot add events to it.  I keep getting cannot save event no calendar has been set.

I have lost my calendar and now I cannot add events to it.  I keep getting message "cannot save event no calendar has been set."

Maybe you need to Tap the Calendar Button in the upper left corner of the calendar app and select a calendar in which to add the event.
Do you have. + sign in the lower right corner of the App? If not go to Settings>iCloud>Calendar>On. If you want to sync the calendar with iCloud, leave it set to on. If not, then set it to Off.
Or try this of those suggestions don't work.
Close all app scompletely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Cannot add events in calendar on ipad os 7

I cannot add events in my calendar , Alonso lost the ones I had . This happened after os 7

He Nicholas, thanks for your reply. All the things you mention I already tried. As I wrote, if I do a factory settings reset and replace my backup, it works for about 1 of 2 days. I can add events again. And then suddenly, I cannot add anything anymore and the same problem comes back. So a factory restore works for a short period. That's maybe the most mysterious part. Someone else with ideas to solve the problem?

  • I have updated my 4s to iOS 7 and now cannot add events to my calendar or create reminders.  How do I fix this?

I have updated my 4s to iOS 7 and now cannot add events to my calendar or my reminders.  Anyone else having this issue and know how to fix it?

I have a similar problem in Reminders....there is no + button to add events.  In Calendars it is there.

  • I've just updated my iPhone 4 and now cannot add events in iCal. Anyone having the same problem?  Thanks!

I've just updated my iPhone 4 to 5.0.1 and now cannot add events in iCal. Anyone having the same problem?  Thanks!

The SMS links thing is highly annoying. You don't have to copy/paste however. You should see an icon like this: (>) to the right of the text bubble with the link. Tap on that, the in the screen that opens, tap "Visit".
Alternatively, you can tap twice directly on the link, then hold your finger down after the second tap.
Still unnecessarily difficult, but not as bad as copy/paste.
What I don't get is why can't I find any mention of this change or how to fix it (if even possible) elsewhere online?

  • Just upgraded iphone 4 to iOS5.  Cannot add event to calendar anymore??

Just upgraded iphone 4 to iOS5.  Cannot add events to my calendar.  Any ideas???

apps are not tied to a computer or to an ios device they are tied to an appleID
you can see all apps you ever downloaded in your iphones app store app where you can redownload them for free

what you're talking about are just files files have little meaning

  • I get "you cannot add events to a mail calendar" when I try to add events

I was in Mail and created a to do and a new calendar was created called "[email protected]>calendar". When I try to add an event to this new calendar I get the error "you cannot add events to a mail calendar". I can create new calendars under the "[email protected]" group heading. And I have tried to import iCal events into a new calendar created under the "[email protected]" heading but, when I close iCal all the newly imported events disappear.
Is iCal corrupt? Can someone explain what this calendar is for? Doesn't seem to be of any use if you cannot events to it.

this is happening to me as well, I cannot create an event in our shared calendar

  • I cannot add events to my calendar. The "plus" button does not show up.

Go to settings -> iCloud and  turn calendar on. This should hopefully resolve your issue

  • My ipad2 cannot add events to calendars? There isn't a symbol "plus", and it doesn't response no matter how to tip it.

My ipad2 cannot add events to calendars? There isn't a symbol "plus", and it doesn't response no matter how to tip it.

This may sound a little stupid, have you tried turning on iCloud and test your calendar again.

  • Calendar does not have the plus button, cannot add events.

I have a new ipad2 and there is no + button to add events and tap and hold doesn't work either.

open the iCloud settings and turn off the Calender and and turn it back on again.

  • M Lion upgrade, now iCal will only add events in one Calender (color).

Before I could highlight a calender on the side bar & add a new event & it would appear in the highlighted calander's color.  Now, regardless of what calender is highlighted when I add a new event, iCal adds the event still as this one calendar & no others. Therefore I have to change every event to the calender I want AFTER I've added the event, rather than just adding it correctly in the first place.  Does that make sense?  Any advice on how to fix this like it was when I had Snow Leopard?  Thanks!

I have tried everything that I found mentioned in other threads as well as other sites. Not one thing fixed this problem. I downloaded the 30 day trial version of BusyCal. That program worked very well with Lion and synced back and forth between all my devices, laptop, desktop etc. However, I do not want to pay 50 dollars for it.(You can put it on two computers for this price.) If BusyCal had a "year" view I would be tempted to pay the 50 and call it good, however.
I am certain that Apple will release an update that will fix the sync problem, the only question is when that will happen. I have not found any rumors or buzz as to when that might happen.

  • Cannot add events to calendar on iPhone

After downloading iOS5 on my verizon iPhone4, I get the following error messages when trying to add events "no calendar has been set" (it has) or "that event does not belong to that event store" Help!

To delete tasks off the multitask bar, click the button on the bottom/front of the phone twice quickly. This will dislay just the multitask bar at the bottom of the screen (generally you see Music, Phone, Mail, and Safari here). Then click one of those tasks and you'll see all the items in your multi-task bar start to wiggle. You can scroll across from right to left to see all the apps you still have running, even if you aren't using them. click the X on each of these to close the apss -- this will not delete them from your OS. I did this and am now able to create Calendar events again!
