I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. Singaporean Visa debit card working but Indian Visa debit card not working

I had an iTunes connect id linked to my singaporean DBS bank Visa debit card and it worked fine in the app store, now I have created a new account in India and I am trying to link it to my HDFC bank Visa debit card but it fails.Is there a solution to this or is getting a credit card from the same bank the only solution?

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store. But if you only want the free apps, take a look here:

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

It says that my payment is declined. I have money on my card and my bank account shows that my apps and music purchases have been paid for. I can't even get free apps.

Do you have enough funds in your bank account?
otherwise iTunes sometimes black lists card if there are too many fradulent purchases
Reason why they might black list a card is possibly you call in for alot of fradulent purchases
One more reason can be because iTunes does actually limit the amount you can change payment methods

Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

For a card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If you can't remember your security questions go to Express Lane , select iTunes from the list, then iTunes store. On the next screen select account Management. There, select iTunes store account security and write that you would like to reset your security questions and / or answers.
You should get an eMail reply over the next 24 hours.

After download when I want change my payment method again to none, it says “enter a new VISA CARD to clear outstanding. I am entering my VISA DEBIT card no. but it says again to enter new card no.
When I check my Debit card statement there no payment made to apple, but apps downloaded on my iphone.
And when open itunes and want download more apps it say to enter CARD no.

I am trying to get itunes to accept my visa debit card

I am trying to get my itunes to accept my visa debit card. Keep getting message that says the card is invalid and I know it is not.

many users have indicated that Apple no longer takes debit cards, but some users say they are still able to use their debit cards - so who knows, that might be the problem.
Also the address assocated with the card must be in the same country as the itunes store being accessed.

I cannot add my Visa Debit card to billing information?
