I cannot add or delete music manually from my iphone

I used to be able to manually add or delete music from my iPhone 4S in iTunes. I tried setting the phone to sync my library automatically and it filled up the phone, but now I can't get rid of any of it (and my storage is maxed out).
Any ideas?

Manually managing music on the iphone 4s. I updated to the latest version of itunes. When I try to manually update my music, it will only give me the option to manag videos. I have tried restarting my iphone, nothing has helped.
(1) Using the same computer to sync and update
(2) checked and unchecked the option to manually manage videos.
(3) no option to manually delete or add music. can anyone help me in fixing this issue.

Hi, No they will remain in the background of your iTunes Account, so delete from your device what you want and redwood it later if you want.

Hi Gregg,
Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

I bought a used iPhone 4S but I cannot add or delete apps

I bought a used iPhone 4S but I cannot add or delete apps or music. Cannot reset as no tab is found under General. And I do not have iCloud PW of previous owner. I thought whom I purchased from was reliable but may have been taken. Any ideas how to resolve problem if solvable or how can I found out if phone was stolen? I have purchased other used before without such a problem. Thanks for any help.

When you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.

Once a device or computer is associated with your Apple ID, you cannot associate that device or computer with another Apple ID for 90 days.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90-day timer. You must wait 90 days from the day the device was first associated with your Apple ID before it can be associated with another Apple ID.

If I transferred music manually from a PC, why I can't do this from other pc now?

I added music to my iPhone manually managing but I changed my pc and see that the "Manually manage music and videos" box is unchecked, if I check that will I be able to add music manually from any pc? thanks

I decided to sync from now on, as you recommend, and I'm having some difficulties with songs that don't belong to any album or that has it's own album data cause I got only one song from that album, I have 2 albums with alone songs, so in the library I can't know which songs belong to one album and which to other, is there any path filter to know where are located filters and be able to know which album belongs to? thanks

can I delete music files from my PC without having to lose them from my ipod classic. I dont see the need to clog up disc space with all the music I own on CD's so once I have them loaded onto my ipod I would like to erase them from my pc. If I then sync my ipod will it automatically delete everything that is no longer on my pc.

If you manually manage your music, you can do what you want. Check the "Manually manage music" box on the summary page in iTunes when the iPod is connected. Keep in mind that , should you ever need to restore your iPod, you may find that you'll need to re-rip all of your CDs. You may want to consider buying an external hard drive (I just picked up a terabyte drive for less than $150) and move your iTunes library there.

The file is just left where it was when it was connected to the library. Typically:
<User>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/<Artist>/<Album>/## <Name>.<Ext>
If you want to add it back just drag it into iTunes. If you want to cull the files you kept previously add the entire iTunes Media folder back into iTunes (or use one of Doug's scripts that has the same effect), then delete (and don't keep) the recent additions.
Note that warning/prompt is only issued when the files you are removing are located inside the designated iTunes Media folder.

Changed e-mail password in windows live account - now cannot send email from iphone. Have deleted the account from the iphone and reinstalled it - the password is correct - still no luck - any advice ?

I changed the password in my windows live e-mail account. My iphone now recieves but will no longer send e-mails. I have deleted the account from the iPhone - reinstalled it and verified the password is correct. I recieve a message that "Cannot Send Mail" "the user name or password ... is incorrect. I no longer get my bookmarks in my dropdown menu on my yahoo tool bar plus i cannot add or delete apps on my yahoo toolbar.i believe this all started w/ a firefox upgrade of some sort.

I know you can't help with my Yahoo problem, however, apparently at some time in the past I have went to the Sync and tried to figure it out on both my laptop and my desktop, because I have the long snyc key information. However, when I go to try to sync both computers I never get the box to enter that key on either one. That is my problem. So should I try and get a new sync key and see if that works.

Solved! Music was in Itunes folder but not in Media folder within that. It doesn't seem like a very user friendly system so far!
