I cannot be recieved for FaceTime at my mobile number

i m using phone 4s (iOS 5.1)
i dont know why when some one calls me on FaceTime they revieve a message i m not available for facetime,(at my mobile number)
i tested 2 iphones side by side but its same every thing is working i can make call on FaceTime but i cant be recieved at my number
a few weeks back it was working fine i dont know what i messed up
But i can be recived for FaceTme at my email id(apple)
also my Phone number in FaceTime is Greyed i think its verified too... tried all possible things reboot, Network reset, etc
imessage is working fine...

Its solved, a friend told me to save the number of caller with country code than Face Time can be reached and save number as iphone in type
So those how are abailable for face time save their numbers with country code with " + " and tell others to save your number also with " +xx (your country code and then number) "
This works for me atleast. If it works for others too with same situation may be...

    Hello pichastos,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot this issue where your camera is displaying a black screen, please follow the information outlined below.
You see a closed lens or black screen
If you see a closed lens or black screen when you open the Camera app, try these steps:
Make sure that there’s nothing blocking the camera lens. If you’re using a case, try removing it.
Force the app to close, then open the Camera app again.
Restart your device, then open the Camera app again.
If your device has a front and rear camera, try both cameras by tapping  (camera swap icon). If you see the closed lens or black screen on only one camera, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider for more help.
Get help with the camera on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
    Take care,

I can't even go back to a phone back up as it wont connect to itunes any more - says it needs to be updated - app store has no update for itunes.

  • Can I use an IP camera for FaceTime on my Mac mini?

I have a Mac mini running Mountain Lion and I would like to know if it is possible to use the streaming video from a wireless IP camera as the video source for FaceTime (and other video apps). If so, how?
    Thanks!

    HI,
My mistake.  I saw the Mac Mini spec and presumed you were looking for any camera and had come across Wireless IP ones.
I know of one BlueTooth one (just to keep a spin on it ).
I have heard good things about this one - but mainly from 2 years or so ago when it was new.
Actually Wireless IP ones I know next to nothing about.
One of the main issues with iChat 2 through 4 is that the Video that iChat accepts is limited to DV from the External Firewire cameras that were about  or certain USB Cameras that produce output that works with the Utility from Ecamm or the Apple Framework item that was introduced later in OS X 10.4 for the USB 2.0/UVC compliant cameras.
By Snow Leopard and iChat 5 most computers do have USB 2.0 ports and all but two of the Mac range have Internal Cameras that are in fact USB 2.0.UVC Compliant.
On the other side as it were, are Camcorders also move to USB 2.0 over Firewire.
However in many cases the output is not DV and none are UVC compliant.
The video signals from these cannot be "translated by either the iUSBCam Ecamm utility or the internal Driver from Apple.
So the main issue will be the format of the Video output from the camera for iChat or Messages.
Other apps, particularly Quicktime, are going to have less of a problem as Quicktime can handle many more formats.

  • Unable to use my apple id for facetime and imessage.

I recently changed my apple id so that I was not sharing the same id with my son.  Now I cannot use my apple id for facetime or imessage.  I can use my son's id, but not mine. (So no network errors, just an id problem.)
I am using the latest software - iOS version 8.02
My time and date are correct.
The error message I see is that my user name or password is incorrect, but I am 100% sure that I have entered it correct.  Same id/pw works for icloud, itunes, etc.
Same problems exists for iPad 3 as for iPhone 5.
Is there some way I can reset my facetime/imessage settings and clear out any old data that might be stored somewhere (hopefully not wiping out the whole phone/ipad?)
    Thanks!
    Kelly

  • Email address cannot be used for iMessage

Just set up an icloud email address for my daughter. I want her to be able to use that icloud email address to send iMessages to me or her mother using our iPads and iPhones.
I set up the icloud email address for her with no problem and am able to e-mail her with it and she is able to send emails back to me with it.
Went into Settings>Messages>Add Another Email.  I typed in the icloud email address I set up for her and received the following error message:
"This email address cannot be used for iMessage."
I do not know why I received this error message.  The icloud email account was set up.
I also went into the Messages app on my phone and sent a iMessage to the iCloud e-mail account and received a response that the message was delivered and Read!
If anyone has dealt with this issue before, please let me know what you think.  Thank you!
    Joe

So if I'm reading this right, you cannot assign multiple Apple IDs to iMessage on the same device?  You have to log out of the first in order to use the second?
If this is true, does this work device to device?  In other words, if she has access to an iPad and an iPhone, could you allow the iPhone to message and FaceTime through my daugther's new icloud email while the iPhone is still assigned to her mother's e-mail?
Or, is there a way to allow multiple apple IDs to iMessage and FaceTime on a sinle device WITHOUT having to disable one?
Thanks for the previous fast response and the future help.

  • SMS for FaceTime - Domestic to Domestic iPhone in International Country

I have read numerous threads that indicate that an SMS is sent when communicating via FaceTime from a US number to an International Number, for both audio only and video sessions to activate the P2P session.  People are surprised when they get billed for an International SMS message for each FaceTime session they have.  So, for example if I was to use FaceTime to call a friend in UK, and my friend has a UK based iPhone, there is a "silent" SMS sent to activate the FaceTime P2P session and that SMS would have an international charge.
My question is, if you are FaceTime-ing a person who is physically located in the UK, however has a US based iPhone and you are in the US with a US iPhone, is there a "Silent SMS" message sent ?  For example, if my family was traveling on a cruise ship (with WiFi) and we wanted to have an audio conversation via FaceTime, (so we both have US Verizon iPhones), is there an international SMS sent ?
    Thanks

Facetime only should send an international SMS Once to activate facetime. It should not send an SMS every time you use it as its done through WIFI.
    From Ocean20...
Activation of imessage requires the ability to send a hidden sms to an apple server in the UK.  If your phone cannot send and international sms then you cannot activate imessage.
    ACTIVATING FACETIME AND IMESSAGES
Activating Facetime and Imessages on your phone requires the ability to send SMS messages and depending upon where you are that might be an international SMS.  Check with your carrier to see if your plan supports sending of international SMS messages.  If you are having trouble activating Facetime or Imessages turn them both off on your device and reset the device (Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost)).  Wait for the device to restart and wait a minute and turn Facetime and imessage back on and wait for activation.  If that does not fix things read the following articles:

    Hope this helps

I changed my apple id and everything works fine except message and facetime. I cannot reactivate imessage and facetime is using my email instead of my mobile number. How do I reactivated message and use my mobile number on both applications?

I apologize. I misread your statement.
The information that I provided about adding the phone number back to the iPad is valid and should work. Now as for the activation of messages, take a look at these support articles for starters. Hopefully, something in one of these will help.

  • solved error: cannot resolve dependencies for "hal"

    Hello all,
I tried doing a pacman -Syu today and recieved the following: error: cannot resolve dependencies for "hal"
Then I did a pacman -S dbus-glib and got : dbus-glib: not found in sync db
then I did pacman -S dbus and recieved the same message.
Then I did pacman -S hal and got:
error: cannot resolve dependencies for "hal":
"dbus-glib" is not in the package set
Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Oh man, in my fleeting moment of panic I didn't think things through and posted right away.
I commented the following lines in pacman.conf and now it works
    #XferCommand = /usr/bin/aria2c -s 2 -m 2 -o %o %u
    #XferCommand = /usr/bin/pacget %u %o
Not too sure why, but I am happy all is working.

I followed this wiki and it did make a difference. It is still very fast downloading packages.
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Imp … erformance
I haven't had a chance to uncomment those lines again to see if it still gives me errors, but you might have luck trying what the wiki suggests.
After following the wiki, pacman tries a bunch of servers to give you the best speed possible (if I remember correctly). I hope this helps you.
