I cannot burn itunes playlist to a cd.

I tried several times to burn an audio CD using ITUNES playlist. It just hangs after initializing. I know it's not a hardware problem because I've burned CDs before using ITUNES. Please HELP. I am going insane.

Hello sisterluke,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you are trying to burn a playlist in iTunes to a disc.  To do that, simply follow the directions below.
Create a CD or DVD
Create a playlist that contains the songs or files you want to burn to the CD; make sure the items you want to include have a checkmark beside them.
Insert a blank disc.
Select the playlist and choose File > Burn Playlist to Disc.
If Burn Playlist to Disc doesn’t appear in the menu, the playlist you selected can’t be burned to a CD because it contains items with usage restrictions (for example, a song your computer isn’t authorized to play).
Select a disc format.
If you’re creating an audio CD, choose your options:Change the recording speed:
Choose an option from the Preferred Speed pop-up menu.
When you burn an audio CD, iTunes automatically uses the best recording speed for the CD. However, if your blank CD is rated for a slower speed than the maximum speed of your drive, or if you experience problems creating CDs, you may want to change the recording speed to match the CD’s rating.
Change the amount of silence between songs:
Choose an option from the Gap Between Songs pop-up menu.
Have all the songs on the disc play at the same volume:
Select Use Sound Check.
Include information that disc players in some vehicles can display:
Select Include CD Text.
Click Burn.

  • Error while burning itunes playlist

I've burned many discs in the past from itunes playlists. However, now I am getting an error. The songs are successfully copied to the disc, but when I drag the disc icon to the trash (where the burn symbol shows up) it seems to start to work but then I get the following error, "An error occured while burning disc. This disc cannot be used." I tried several different discs CD-R and CD-RW. I tried using disc utility to burn. I CAN burn other files like word documents etc. It seems to just be songs that won't burn. I recently updated to itunes 7. Any advice?

Please note, I have read through all the trouble shooting help. I have the preferences set to burn "audio CD" which seems to be the problem for others. aaargh! Really frustrated!

  • Cannot burn a playlist to a CD

I am using Snow Leopard, and I have the latest version of iTunes. I have created a playlist of items I have transferred from cassette tapes to iTunes. In Edit I selected Burn Playlist to Disc. At the message "Insert blank disc" I insert a blank. The drive runs for a few seconds and stops. There are no other messages or alerts. Nothing happens. Have I done something wrong?

  • Cannot burn a playlist over more than one CD

I have developed the following problem:
If I try to burn a playlist which requires more than one CD, I get the usual message asking me if I want to burn on more than one audio CD to which I reply yes. Once the first CD is finished I get the message to insert another CD which then proceeds to burn the songs already burned on the first CD instead of moving on to the next batch!
Also sometimes the song names etc are included on the burned CD but usually they are not.
Is this a problem particular to me or is it an iTunes 8 gift?
I have repaired permissions and this makes no difference.

patience, patience. You have to remember that no one gets paid here. We're all volunteers. Your question probably just slipped through the cracks.
    OK
Yes you can use multiple drives. I do it all the time. I usually have one drive dedicated as my Capture drive where I keep all of my captued footage and then other drives for all of the other stuff, ie graphics, music, etc...

  • Connected Digital AV Adapter to HDMI HD TV. Photo slideshow works fine but cannot play iTunes playlist concurrently (with sound turned off on slideshow)

Connected Digital AV Adapter from my iPad (64 GB 4G) to my HD TV. Tried playing slideshow (with sound off) concurrently with playing iTunes playlist. Video plays fine but no audio. iTunes volume indicator not showing any volume.

Just following-up on this posting from a week or two ago and another a few days later about the problems with catch-up TV.  We were disappointed with the lack of service, but as we can get most of the catch-up we want on the Sony Bravia TV, hadn't pursued it with BT perhaps hoping things would improve.
Got a phone call last week from BT asking if we'd been able to set up the YouView Box OK, which we had.  Mentioned the unsatisfactory service.  She immediately put me through to the BT technical call centre in India where I spoke to guy called Rajiv or something like that.  Asked a few questions and then asked me to switch off the YouView Box (back panel switch) and do a hard-reset on the Homehub Router.  Once this had been done, and the YouView box switched back on.  The service ran fine and has done so since.  I don't know if Rajiv did anything in the network or whether this is just some problem (he called it a "glitch") in the router/YouView box.  Funny that that the speedtest and streaming to the Sony TV works OK.
He phoned back a couple of days later to see if we'd had any further problems.  Overall good service.  It would be interesting to know from a technical point of view what the problem was and how it was solved.  It shouldn't be necessary to reset boxes in this way.

  • Burning iTunes playlists onto a DVD

I want to burn playlists from iTunes onto a DVD, primarily for backup purposes. But also, to give get them into another...PC...computer.
    I have iDVD 5, running Panther (10.3.9)
I was told I could do this and it would work basically the same was as burning to a CD. Just “dragging” a playlist or playlists onto the DVD.
However, when I went to iDVD help menu, it said:
+You can also drag music files from the Finder to the menu or to the Audio well in the Settings pane, *but you can't drag playlists directly from the iTunes application.+*
    What’s the story?
    Thanks in advance

    Ok, but
I was told you could use DVDs to backup virtually anything on your computer. Documents, photos and music.
iDVD would seem to be one thing....but a DVD quite another. So I think I'm starting to "get it."
For what I want to do, I would simply "drag" a playlist out of iTunes, onto the desktop, and from there drag said playlist onto the DVD. And I would have it. The tunes would then be able to be used as "backups" or to "play" on a DVD player, or to copy onto another computer...Mac or PC.
Actually, for my purposes, wouldn't I simply drag the playlist "from" iTunes onto the DVD? And skip the going to desktop process?
    Am I right on this?
    thanks again

  • Cannot access iTunes 'playlist' from iPhoto 6.0.6

    Hi, 5-29-07
I am using iPhoto 6.0.6 and iTunes 7.1.1 (5). I want to use a playlist with my slideshow, and have read several postings with instructions on how to do this (great forum, by the way).
For some reason, this version of iPhoto does not look like the descriptions the other posts give, and I can only access one iTunes level--probably root library, and select only single songs that repeat incessantly.
Any help would be great. Had a family reunion lately and everyone is bugging me for a slideshow DVD.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot burn playlist, it just quits

Hi, cannot burn a playlist, it just quits. Have not burned anything since a new optical drive was put in, any ideas?

Well, seems it fixed itself, try to burn a disc and it quit so the screen came up, app quit, report or try again so pressed try again and tried to burn another one so it quit again and the same screen came up again, pressed try again and it went though the whole process of first being downloaded and when done, it would burn c.d.'s.

  • I cannot get iTunes 10.5.1 (windows) to burn a playlist to CD. It cancels immediately

I cannot get iTunes 10.5.1 (windows) to burn a playlist to CD. It cancels immediately with an Unknown Error 4251 message.
I am running iTunes on both 32 and 64 bit versions of  Windows 7 and get same result on both machines.
It used to burn perfectly using previous versions of iTunes.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

The 4251 isn't all that common (relative to other reported import/burning messages). So to be getting it suddenly on two different PCs suggests a conflict with something you've got running on both machines.
Could you post diagnostics for both PCs, please? (Fingers crossed there might be some commonalities in the two sets of results that might lead us to the cause of this.)
(No need to put both sets of diagnostics in one reply. Posting each set in a different reply will quite probably be much easier for you.)
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
    ... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here.

  • How do I get the song titles to appear when I burn a playlist from iTunes?

I burned a playlist from iTunes, and the song titles on the burned CD changed to Track 1, Track 2, Track 3, etc. How can I get the song titles to appear as they do in iTunes? Is this really too much to ask from the world's leading music player software?

If you are burning an audio CD, you cannot as audio CDs do not have track names. Nothing to do with Apple.
