Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

Recently a problem has developed -- I can't use the top inch of the firefox window -- any buttons there cannot be activated - my cursor is able to move ovber them but can't click on them. What should I do?

Within the firefox window -- anything in the top inch or so I am unable to use. This is the same for any site. I don't know what has happened and I cannot fix it.
In that area, I can move the cursor but when I click on things I cannot activate them anymore - an example is I can't go to the shopping basket on Amazon or my account.
Waht should I do?

I just started using Firefox but anything on the top Inch to Inch and a half of the page I can not Click on every time I click it's like nothings there if I click Twice the web Browser gets Smaller it's Like it Doesn't recognize the top of the page.

Known bug. Quit the Camera App, double-tap the home key and delete Camera from the recent apps bar. Fire it up again, should be good.

Also, when im viewing websites and i find something i wish to print, same again, if i simply click on the print option at the top right of the screen nothing happens... the only way I can print is if i copy the weblink of the site page then click on my HP eprint app and paste the web link, then select print, it prints off fine.. but its it such a pain to keep copying and pasting links or screen dumping emails just to print...

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. How do you close a finder window on an iMac running Mountain Lion by double clicking on the top of the window like I can on my Macbook Air?

When I bought my Macbook Air in 2011, ( leopard on purchase - now mountain lion) I discovered how to close open Finder windows by double clicking at the top of the window. I have just bought an iMac (mountain lion) and for the life of me cant find out how to do the same. Finder preferences are no help. Can anyone out there be of some?

I know what you are referring to. In both cases, the window is minimized, but on your MacBook Air, your Finder window is minimized onto the Finder icon, and on the iMac, on the right side of the Dock.
To change this on your iMac, open System Preferences > Dock, and mark "Minimize windows into application icon"

Suddenly I can not select anything within the top inch or so of any web page. The scroll bar arrow doesn't work at the top. I don't know what to do. I tried updating my browser but the problem still exists.

Everything worked fine on Tues. I shut down my system and then on Wed. morning, the problem appeared. Anything within the top inch or so of a webpage is unavailable to select. It is like there is an inch of the page that is dead. It is that way on every website that I visit with Firefox. It does not happen if I use internet explorer, which I do not like and do not want to have to go back to using. Please help!!! My sister in law has the same problem with firefox.

Middle-clicking a tab closes it, while middle-clicking an empty area of the tab bar opens a new tab.
Different behavior is probably caused by a tab-related add-on like Tab Mix Plus. If you're not sure if you have such an add-on, restart Firefox with add-ons disabled and check if the problem still occurs.

I cannot click in the Search field and perform a search in the Store.

File -> New -> New Smart Album is the way to do that.

That problem can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or Babylon that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

The top part of my screen is dim, is there anything I can do myself to fix it?

I have a 20 inch early 2008 iMac that has been perfect for me, up until now. 95% of the time when I now start it up, the top part of my screen goes dim. I play with it and put it to sleep and wake it up immediately, and sometimes that will work and it will stay lit up. The computer is clearly out of warranty...is there anything I can do to help this? How much would a repair like this cost without a warranty? I'm so frustrated.

iMac's are about the worst computer in the world value speaking to buy becaues of their "closed" nature.
Your only choice seems to be to call a online Mac repair shop or Apple, send it to them and get a estimate.
Consider a MacPro for your next desktop machine, at least with that you can run out and get another monitor, or hard drive, or video card, or power supply, or ...and install it yourself.
