Purchased a book but will not download. Does anybody know what can cause this?

Same issue have rebooted, removed ibooks and reinstalled.
I have 3 books I can delete and re-download without issues. But my other 100 books sit in trying to download mode and never download. PDF's I can sync with computer and they work.
Given I want to read one of my purchased books its very frustrating. Anyone have any ideas?

I am using a 2003 eMac and am running on Mac OSX vs 10.4.11. I amrunning iTunes 8.2.1 (6) and not able to upgrade iTunes on this computer. iTunes is not recognizing music I have purchased and when I try to connect when it request me to I get the following error message:

Is this music purchased back in DRM days? I don't actually have any iTunes music so I can't test with my iTunes 7.5, but I know that without iTunes 10 you cannot even connect to the store anymore. I wouldn't think that would require an active connection to the store all the time, otherwise how could you play music on a computer in the middle of nowhere? Did you do something to trigger iTunes suddenly wanting to connect and check on machine authorization?

You need to reset your email account again on your device & send the service books from the same interface on your device. Wait for the 30mins & register now yourself from the handset itself by following the below steps-click on Option Application-click on Advanced - Click on Host Routing table - Click menu key - select Register now option & Click, Follow these steps twice. Now go into your email application & click on it. Then press the menu key & scroll down,you can see Reconcile now option, Click on it twice !
Now try to open that PDF again !

I did more than that - I reset the Apple TV so that I had to get back in as if I were setting it up for the first time. I actually used my iPad to do this by just touching it the Apple TV with it. That all worked fine. I had to verify my password again and my credit card information. When the Apple rebooted with all of this and I tried to order the same or other movies, the same response came up.
If Apple doesn't contact me soon, I will simply get the movies from some other service on my smart TV and just use the Apple TV to stream photos or whatever from my iPad or iPhone. This is ridiculous.

I purchased a book on my iphone 4 in the iBookstore and I cannot read it on my macbook pro. Seems like a silly, but very annoying and aggravating fallacy. What you are hearing is correct. There is currently no Mac app for iBooks, so no way to get them on the Mac.
You can use many of the other e-reader apps like Kindle on all of your devices and your Mac.

Setting Lightroom's preview size to larger than screen resolution is guaranteed to slow things down. I have a dual monitor system whith Lightroom showing the loupe on one screen and the grid on the other. The screen sizes are 1920x1080 and 2560x1440. Following your practice for previews would bring my system to a crawl and I have an entry level workstation.All my previews are of standard 1024x768 in size. The only delays in viewing come when Lightroom is asked to display an image where there is no preview. Once the preview has been created, browsing is near instantaneous.
I beg to differ! The reason is that a preview can be used for any size, which is smaller than that of the preview. Scaling down a preview can be done with little or not loss in quality compared to getting the full resulution and scale that down. Scaling up is not possible.
In your case, you will not use the previews of 1024x768 at all for full screen display. Instead you will force L3 to create bigger previews the first time you open the photo. You could try this by generating the standard previews for new imported photos before you start browsing. Then try to browse. You will probably get the "Loading" message, which indicates that the preview was not used and another one with higher resolution will be made. Then try the same experiment, setting the size of the standard preview to 2048. If, and only if, the size of your display area is not more than 2048 pixels wide and you display a photo in lanscape orientation, you will be able to browse without delay after generating the standard previews.
If I understand your setup correctly, you display the photos in a window of 2560x1440 pixels. I suspect that only 1:1 previews could be used for that. I think Adobe should increase the maximum size of the previews to a value larger than 2048, so that you are not forced to use only the 1:1 previews.
I agree, that when the previews have been generated, browsing is near instantaneous.

Cannot read my own purchased book due to having chose Authorize WITHOUT Vendo ID in Adobe ADE

Hello, as the title explains, due to having choose to not register as Vendor ID at first, now, after i registered as adobe id, i cannot read a book regularly purchased anymore, pls help.

Unfortunately, I don't know any solution to this ~~ some standard comments below in case they help anyone else, but I think too late to help you.
A few straws that may help ...
My belief is that if you now deregister you Adobe ID and revert to anonymous ID, it will give you a new anonymous ID rather than a refresh of the old one.
It might be worth trying that, though. ctrl-shift-D to deregister, cmd-shift-D on Mac.
In the long run you should revert to registration with your real ID, but it might just give a chance to recover your old book.
Another possibility is that if you have a system backup from before you registered you may be able to recover the old anonymous ID.
Registration is at least partly held in the registry: [at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept\Activation\0000\0000\\value etc]

You can contact the vendor and see if they can help, but unfortunately I think it is equivalent to your asking them

This is a vicious trap that Adobe lays for unsuspecting customers.
They do give very mild warnings, but not nearly strong enough.
When you register 'without ID', ADE creates an anonymous/implicit ID with limited powers (eg can't be used to share with other devices).
Whenever you first load a DRM book, that copy of the book is associated with whatever ID the computer is registered to at the time.
Any book you load while this anonymous ID is active gets associated with that ID, and can't be read on any other device.
When you properly register your computer with a real ID, that old anonymous ID is lost.
Now you don't have any devices that can read the book.
The only way I know round this is to use a DRM stripper such as epubee BEFORE you deauthorize the device.
I do NOT advocate using such code to get around the valid limitations placed on a DRM book.
However, where the problem arises only because of the ineptness of Adobe's ADEPT DRM infrastructure and its implementation,
such a measure is totally justifiable.
