I cannot connect ipad to Wifi though other PC's are connecting are OK.  It was connected to this wifi previously

I cannot connect ipad to Wifi though my other PC is connecting to the same network.  It is an IPad one and previously automatically connected to this network but has suddenly stopped even after rebooting the router etc still does not work?  Any ideas from the smart people out there please?

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections  http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
Also try this - Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

  • ITunes cannot connect with this iPad Error/iOS 5 problem

It appears that ever since upgrading to iOS 5 and opting to sync my first gen iPad wirelessly, I have been receiving an error message each morning stating "iTunes cannot connect with this iPad..."
The wireless sync capability works fine, I plug my iPad into the wall when I come home, and it starts pushing and pulling all the new apps that I've downloaded in the day.
It appears that iTunes is will regularly try to connect with the iPad while it is charging. At some point during the evenings, either my iPad will be asleep or my iMac will be asleep. I think this is where the connection problem is arising.
Does anyone know how to change iTunes' frequency of wireless sync to a device that it is wirelessly connected to? Ideally, I'd like it to only sync wirelessly once when I plug the iPad into the wall.

  • "Isync cannot connect to this device" Yet phone has connected to other Imac

I have a Nokia 6230i and for ages I have been trying to get my Macbook to connect via iSync, I thought the phone was at fault, I had taken them both to a genius bar and was told the phone was at fault but last week I connected the phone to an iMac via iSync and it worked a treat. Unfortunately the imac is not my workhorse and the contacts I need to use are on the macbook.
I have reinstalled iSync by extracting it from the dvd but this also did not work. I keep getting "isync cannot connect to this device" every time
Why cant it be a bit more specific? Why not an error code or something that will let you track down the problem
Has anyone else had the same problem with iSync?

    Hi,
I had the same problem with a 6230i from a friend. After setting date and time on the mobile iSync had no problems anymore.

when connecting my iphone 4 to itunes for the first time i get the following message "cannot connect to this device because Apple Mobile Service is not started" what does this mean and how do I solve it?

I'd start with the following document with that one:

  • "Cannot connect to this iPhone" message on Mac Pro

Lately (since the update to iTunes 10.5.2? I'm not certain) I've been getting alert messages popping up on the desktop of my Mac Pro saying "iTunes cannot connect to this iPhone at this time". I'm baffled. This isn't an iPhone -- there isn't an iPhone in the house, although I do have an iPad. But I'd have thought whatever software was generating this behaviour would be able to distinguish between different species of Apple hardware, and the message isn't showing up on the iPad, but on the Mac Pro, which is a different OS!
What's going on? Is iTunes trying to do something it doesn't need to do, or shouldn't be doing? Or is this a way of telling me someone with an iPhone is trying to sneak in to my wireless LAN? (This is BT Infinity, which is a black box, unlike my former AirPort LAN on top of a Virgin cable modem; there I had an access list as well as WPA2.) Or what?

Update....following a Power cycle the iPad SW was able to be updated and iTunes recognised it!!
Note iTunes SW version is 11.1.4 (62) 64 Bit.
    All cables are OEM.

  • PowerPoint - Present Online - Error starting online presentation - Cannot connect to this service. Check your network connection and try again.

    "Present Online
    Error starting online presentation
Cannot connect to this service. Check your network connection and try again."
On March 31, we starting experiencing this issue across our entire domain. We have not made any changes to our network configuration. We are using the same ISP, routing hardware, computer hardware, software versions and group policy settings as we were on March
    30.
The issue appears to be related to network connectivity.
Here is what I have found so far:
We have three networks in our building and two ISPs.
Network-A uses ISP-A and is affected by the issue. Network-A is our corporate domain.
Network-B uses ISP-B and is affected by the issue.
Network-C uses ISP-B and is not affected by the issue.
If I take a Network-A domain member and launch PowerPoint while connected to Network-A and ISP-A I am unable to upload PowerPoint presentations.
If I connect the same computer to Network-C, the issue persists.
If I close PowerPoint, connect to Network-C, and reopen PowerPoint while connected to Network-C, I am able to upload presentations.
A non-domain computer is affected by the issue if PowerPoint is opened while connected to Network-A or Network-B, but unaffected if PowerPoint is launched while connected to Network-C. Again, in this scenario, switching connections while PowerPoint is open
    has no effect.
The issue appears to be caused during PowerPoint start-up and not while attempting to share a document.
Microsoft is either unwilling or unable to find a resolution and has finally resorted to simply ignoring my calls, voicemails, emails, and ticket requests regarding this issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a brief description of our configuration and what I have tried so far.

The problem seems to have fixed itself, the computer may just have needed to be restarted.

  • "The BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot connect with this device." after repair

I download the Desktop Software for BlackBerry onto my Mac Book Pro for the first time.
After installing I connected my PlayBook. I get the message "The BlackBerry® Desktop Software cannot connect with this device."
The program suggested I repair the device software, so I did. After that I set it up and ran the updates.
When I plug it back in I get the exact same message.
    What should I do next?

I also cannot connect to my two playbooks using desktop manager on mac.
One of the two playbooks is now shipped back to rim for repair (see here http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-PlayBook/5MP-Playbook-Camera-Blackscreen-Errors-Ha... The issue of desktop manager not being able to connect to the playbook started with this playbook when the repair I was prompted to to stopped 1/4 way into it. Multiple retries did not make any difference.
Since then, I have tried connecting my other (functioning) playbook to the same mac but when I plug in usb cable I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg and prompted to "repair". I am definitely NOT going to "repair" this one. So I uninstalled the desktop manager and reinstalled it to see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately it did not and I get the same "cannot connect" errmsg.
If anyone has any suggestion how this issue can be resolved that would be great. I think something is stuck on the mac and is not getting wiped out when desktop manager is uninstalled. Thanks.

  • Isync cannot connect to this device

Hi I just purchased an I Phone 3gs, I am trying to sync the phone on Mac Book Pro (snow leopard 10.6.8) but cannot. I have been able to assign the device to the computer in so much as when I open network preferences "IPhone USB" shows as "connected" and "Bluetooth PAN" also is shown as connected.
However when I open ISync and try to sync the device, the message is "1 device found" then when I press scan the message is " ISync cannot connect to this device.
Similarly the phone reveals 2 personal hotspot connections, but when I try to connect to my Mac Book Pro it says "connection unsuccessful".
I have tried deleting both the IPhone USB connection and the PAN connection and starting from scratch, and I shutdown the computer and re-booted but no luck there. I also tried connecting without the USB cable via Bluetooth and then with the USB cable but to no avail.
So it appears to be the final stage that is the problem, it is simply not recognising the device. I do not have this problem with other devices, such as external HD or flash drives.
    Many thanks,
    Michael.

iSync is for 3rd party mobile devices. iPhone uses iTunes.
Open Mac iTunes app. Connect your iPhone with the supplied cable. What do you see in iTunes left panel under DEVICES?

  • Apple TV Cannot Connect To This Library Problem

Hope someone can help... I had AppleTV and iTunes working just fine for months streaming from my PC to the AppleTV via a wireless connection.
I am able to see the AppleTV icon in iTunes and my AppleTV shows my iTunes library by name just fine... as it always did... even if I restart AppleTV and remove the apple tv connection from itunes, they always seem to be able to "find" each other requiring me to enter that 6 (or 5?) digit passcode.
So, I guess, I am saying that from at least an initial handshake between my AppleTV and my PC running iTunes, I think they talk just fine.
HOWEVER, the problem is every time I try to CLICK on my streaming library, for instance, I go to Movies -> Shared Videos, I get a constant spinning "Loading library" followed by a:
"Apple TV Cannot Connect to This Library" followed by a "Check your network configuration and connection".
So I am confused how the initial handshake can work, that they can see each other, but the loading of the library just dies?
I am running, as of today, the last software updates for both iTunes and AppleTV.
What caused it to break? My assumption is one (or both) of the following:
1.) I upgraded, at the same time, both the Apple TV and iTunes (for PC) at the same time.
2.) I upgraded my wireless router to the D-Link DIR-665.
Am I missing some ports that need to opened on the router?

I have the same issue, and it sounds like others may have similar. What's weird is I watched a streamed video on the 22nd with no issues with 10.5.5, iTunes 8.0.1, and AppleTV 2.1. I went to watch something on Monday night and had the same issue you did. I checked my Software Update.log and these were the only updates (changes) to my MBP since I had it working on the 22nd:
    2008-10-27 17:32:45 -0400: Installed "Migration and DVD ⁄ CD Sharing Update" (1.1)
    2008-10-27 17:32:51 -0400: Installed "AirPort Extreme Update 2008-004" (1.0)
    2008-10-27 17:33:58 -0400: Installed "iPhoto Update" (7.1.5)
I did installed Boxee on Friday, but in troubleshooting this week I factory defaulted my AppleTV to 1.0, then did an upgrade to 2.2 and have the same issue.
I troubleshoot technology for a living, and this makes no sense to me--you can always find something that changed to cause and issue, and I can't find anything.
One more note, I did a sniffer (Wireshark) capture, and it reported malformed packets from the AppleTV to my MBP...now I accidentally deleted the capture and didn't dig further. Wireshark sometimes misrepresents normal things as issues. I will try and re-do the capture and see if I can did deeper.
    Apple please fix this!

Did you try restarting it by holding down the hold and lock button at the same time until you get the apple logo?  If you already tried that then you should try putting it in DFU mode and doing a restore by following these instructions- http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=1034
