I cannot connect my iphone 4 to my computer via the usb cable
Every time I connect my iphone 4 to my laptop to sync it all it does is give me a windows messagfe off the toolbar saying 'USB device not recognised' One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it. I've tried everything. Someone please help me.

When I use the same cable with the wall adapter it charges just fine.
LOL My situation is the opposite. plug my iPhone 3GS with USB cable and attach to mini adaptor (or whatever the small one is called) and it does not charge. Connect the same iPhone 3GS to my MacBook, using same cable, an charging takes place for iPhone. Then, connected the iPhone to the AC power with the large Apple AC adaptor and it always charges. Seems to be the small adaptor and sometimes a third party automobile adapter.
At first I thought this might be because I was using third party USB cable, but now wonder about that since there are so many problems that others are having.
Having scoured the discussions, it appears no definitive answer has been given. Am I wrong. Maybe I never found the answer to what is happening here.

I have a Lexmark printer which is a little old. So when i connect my iphone to it via the USB cable my printer doesn't recognise it. If i bought a bluetooth adaptor for the printer would i be able to print photos via bluetooth?
The only way to print from an iPad is to have a printer that supports AirPrint. Here's a link to an Apple support page on AirPrint.

AirPrint is way to print wirelessly via Wi-Fi but it requires that the printer supports AirPrint. The iPad cannot use Bluetooth to print and it will not print when connected via USB. -
i connected my iphone 5 to my computer for the first time since i got it and it didnt give me any option and just started to restore it from my iphone 4s. ive now lost all my pictures that were on it. Is there a way i can get them back as i did not want it to restore my old phone anyway! i also had my hone set up to the cloud and it didnt work! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME
Can you try to use another computer?
If this does not work, visit an Apple Store or an Authorized Apple Service Provider next to your place, and show them the phone, maybe they can restore it before you'll have to get it serviced.
Did you try to put it in recovery mode?

I recently connected my iPhone 3GS to my computer, for the new update 3.4.5, but i didn't load at all. Not even after 3 hours..

If your MacBook Pro is already using a wireless connection, you can just connect to the same wireless network it is using.

Connecting my Touch via the USB cable
I am connecting the Touch to my car via the usb cable as it has a built in ipod app. The car recognises the Touch and I can access all the menus and songs, select what I want to play and play the song, all from the car controls. The only problem is that the music plays from the Touch instead of through the car. Any ideas? It is a 32Gb Ipod Touch running 3.1.3. Any help appreciated.

I plugged my iPhone 4 into my computer with the USB charger cable, and the screen went blank and came up with a picture of the usb cable with an arrow pointing to iTunes....Can anyone help get this fixed????

My computer can not recognize the new Apple iPod touch when it is connected via the USB cable (that goes with it) attempt to attach it to the computer.

I cannot connect to iPhone personal hotspot. What's the problem?
I have connected to iPhone hotspot using wifi and USB cord in the past. My current problem started with my wifi about a month ago. My wifi on my iPhone would not toggle on (grayed out) for about 2 weeks. After rebooting and restarting, I finally had to wipe phone clean and start hardware from new. After powering down several times over the following week, it surprisingly started working again. However, it will continue to go in & out sporadically. My iPad and loptop will recognize my iPhone's wifi, but will not connect. I can connect through USB cord and iPhone shows 1 connection, but laptop will not pick up connection. I have also tried to reentered password. All software is current. What's the problem?

There is no where for the upgrade to 'Light Up'...I don't know what that means. Once your phone is recognized, you can manually select 'Check for Update' if it isn't automatically prompting you.

I have run itunes diagnostics and when it gets to connectivity test - ports, it says no iphone found. I followed the troubleshooting steps there, but have been unable to resolve this problem. I have also tried:
1. Stopping and restarting the apple mobile device program.
2. Deleting temporary files.
3. Checking the registery files.
4. Uninstalled and reinstalled itunes 2 times.
5. Used msconfig to disable start up items that could be interfering.
I'm tired of waiting for itunes 11, hoping that it might resolve my problem.
Is there a place where i can download the previous version of itunes 10.6 to see if this may help?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKED !!! I still cannot backup because iTunes cannot start a session.
My devices are completely vulnerable to loss.
I have spent hours searching the Internet trying to find a solution.
I have concluded that the iTunes software or its driver are at fault. -

However you probably need to talk to your Dealer about the built in Sound system

You cannot connect an iPod to your TV via USB. You need one of these two cables:
Apple Component AV Cable
Apple Composite AV Cable
depending on this inputs available on your TV.
