I cannot connect to Ibooks store since upgrading to OSX Mavericks
Imac 3.06 4meg. OSX 10.9.4 I have not been able to connect to the Ibooks store since updating to Mavericks. Any help please. Brian.

it seems to pick up South Africa and the UK - in fact I have set up an alternative UK apple ID so I suppose it sees my ipad, checks my "accounts" and constructs the note accordingly? Weird.
It would have been REALLY helpful to have a clear indication of content availability when setting up the South African account. I have found the several places where the experts explain how to work around this problem with fake US addresses and voucher payments. I don't want to do that.
I have to say that my limited experience with iTunes and Apple over three years (previously on PC/Windows) is way below what I would expect from Apple inc ... this incident must have wasted four hours of my life ... -

Hi all, I have upgraded to 10.6.8 Snow leopard on my Mac Pro but still cannot connect to App store. I want to connect to upgrade to Mountain Lion but ony get the message "you are not connected to App store" or "Check your internet connections, error -52". My internet is working OK for everything else.Any advice?
Then I will have to assume a faulty installation.
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. -
Cannot connect to iTunes Store since bought Sony laptop running Windows 8
I have a new Sony Vaio laptop running on Windows 8. Everything is fine with iTunes (my music etc transferred and new iPhone 5S synced no problem) except I cannot connect to the Store. The connection bar runs to about three-quarters of the way and then message pops up saying "iTunes has stopped working". Have tried uninstalling and re-installing. Has made no difference. I have ESET firewall protection but this wasn't a problem on my old Sony with Vista. Help! Thank you in advance!

i can't even cancel the connection...
now i can't do anything with my itunes....I also updated my Mac OS X to version 10.6.8 a few hours ago as well and I upgraded my iTunes to the latest version, but now I can't connect to the store AND iTunes can't detect my iPhone 4! Not only that, but my iPod nano can't make a connection either. So I don't have any means to backup my files or sync my iPhone and iPod to my Mac and vice versa. In my case though, the iTunes Store doesn't even tell me that it's connecting at all, the page just says, "iTunes Store" just like when I don't have an internet connection, but the fact is, I do have internet, so why is this happening? It's really giving me a hard time to solve this issue. Is iTunes 10.4 having a problem? Help will be greatly appreciated!

Cannot Connect it iTunes store after upgrade
I STUPIDLY allowed the iTunes upgrade to install today. Now I cannot connect to the iTunes store. I have completely shut off the Norton Firewall. Get this... I run the iTunes diagnostic tool (Help.. run diagnostics) and it tells me everything's connecting fine:
I ran the diagnostics. It says all the connections are good but I still cannot connect to the iTunes store after I upgraded. I have completely shut off my firewall.

Secure connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.After several hours of searching in the forums and trouble-shooting I ended up on Norton chat support. They suggested I uninstall and reinstall Norton 360, and even gave me a free upgrade from v1.0 to v2.0 Inbetween removal of the v1.0 and reinstallation, I tried iTunes and was able to connect to the store. After installing v2.0 I can still connect so I'm running again for awhile.... .until the next update. Other people running Norton have had similar problems and Norton updates fixed it.
I still can't run the exact same iTunes library on my Vista laptop because artwork makes iTunes crash. An early 7.x update caused this and I had to move everything to my desktop with XP. -
Cannot connect to App Store since 10.8.1

Brand new retina MBP, running 10.8.1 (updated via the app store).
Tried accessing the App Store after the update and I'm consistently rewarded with the frustrating error message 'Cannot connect to the App Store. An internet connection is required'. My internet connection is working and I'm posting on the computer in question (The only perculiar thing is that Diablo isn't letting me sign in either - it was working earlier, I don't know if thats related)
I've been searching online for a solution for a few hours now and I've read almost every thread in this forum on the topic, to no avail.
I've turned my firewall off
I don't have an anti-virus
My 'Allow Applications' is set to Mac App Store and identified developers
I've deleted cache's and plists
I've reset my machine multiple times
I've reset my router
I've reset safari and its caches
Changed MTU size
I've changed the class 3 certificates to always trust
I've changed the class 3 certificates to system defaults
I've enabled debug mode and reset the App store
This whole situation is super frustrating for a brand new computer, I'm hoping someone can help me out.Hi,
I've done everything except erase and clean install. I've sent a note to Apple so we'll see what happens there. Here's a list of what I e done already:
steps:
Connected to App Store (via MacBook Air) running 10.6.8.
Upgraded to 10.8.2 via App Store.
I went to look for updates and I get the "can't connect,etc"
So I restored back to 10.6.8 time machine backup...and verified I could connect.
Tried to upgrade again: same result.
All other wifi connections appear normal and App Store browsing is fine except in updates area.
Steps I took to resolve:
Through terminal...activated the debug menu--reset app, cleared cache
Restarted -- no change
Created admin test user account
Verified that issue persists across users
Accessed App Store updates loads normally using a different MacBook Air (connected to same network) running 10.8.2
Repaired permissions on problem volume
Verified that no firewall or parental controls are blocking anything
Added alternate DNS entries -- no change
Restarted
I'm trying to avoid doing a clean install to obvious reasons. But sometimes that's what it takes.

And still cannot connect this morning (24 Aug 2007).
This was working just fine on 22 Aug.
Is there any way to tell if the iTunes store is down for maintenance?Are you getting Connection Reset messages? If so, this may sound dumb, but try this...TRY as hard as you can to log into your iTunes account. If you can get in, change your payment preferences. Switch to paypal or switch to a credit card. This is only temporary, you can change it again next time.
Quit iTunes and restart.
This fixed the problem for me. It seems that if iTunes gives you a credit it can mess things up. I found out this info from an archived thread and this thread:

Ever since I upgraded to the newest version, I can no longer connect to the iTunes store or the update server. Yes its a d@mn dialup connection, but you think it wouldn't matter to iTunes.
I've tried thru the Bellsouth Accelerator and straight shot out.

Last successful store access was 2008-02-25 22:00:35.Turn off all your firewalls, software accelerators, security software like Norton/McAfee/Zone Alarm/NOD/Kapersky/etc, even the Windows firewall.
An iTunes upgrade is actually an uninstall of itunes & quicktime, then a reinstall of the new versions.
Those items I mentioned all see iTunes as a new program and you have to set security to allow iTunes again. So if you temporarily turn them off and can connect to the sotre, you will know that's it.

Cannot connect to iTunes Store after upgrade to ios 5 - iPad2
After upgranding my iPad2 to the ios5 I lost the connection to the apple store and the iTunes. I already reseted my password using the web, but I still cannot access the iTunes using the iPad2, but I CAN access the iTunes using my iphone4 and my ipod touch. Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this mistery?

Cannot connect to file share since upgrading to Lion
Since i updated my desktop Mac Pro from the snow cat to Lion, i can no longer connect remotely to file shares (from two different MacBook, both also running Lion). The Mac Pro shows up in Finder ok and automatically, but when i try to connect, via Connect As and specifying the proper login, it fails with a vague error. The same if i try connection via Apple ID. If i try to connect via Cmd+K and entering afp://MyMacPro.local, i get asked for a password, then shown the proper list of available shares (i don't get that far when connecting via the Finder's sidebar!), but after selecting one, it still fails, with the same vague ("there was a problem connecting") error.
if i try to connect from terminal with mount_afp, i get an error -1069:
MyMacBook:~ mh$ mount_afp afp://MyUser:[email protected]/MyShare /Volumes/test
mount_afp: AFPMountURL returned error -1069, errno is -1069
i have of course tripple-checked that file sharing is still enabled on my Mac Pro, and that the firewall is disabled. i *can* connect in the oposite direction, frommy Mac Pro to the laptops.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Since upgrading to OSX Mavericks I cannot log into the creative cloud app.
I have tried deleting the app and re downloading, I can still use my adobe ID to log in via my browser but not through the app.

When waking from sleep, my default home connection is lost, and it usually cannot re-connect until I turn off and back on wi-fi.
Hi. I'm experiencing the same problem, but it's on a 2007 iMac.
When it wakes from sleep, it does not connect to the preferred network. The preferred network is visible, yet when we select it, it asks for the password again -- which I know it is entered correctly -- but the password is refused. A full reboot is required for it to work properly.
It's an iMac, mid 2007, connecting to a Time Machine, using WPA/WPA2 security. All other devices (eg, iPad, iPhone and an other iMac) do not have this issue.
Workaround: I don't let that iMac go to sleep.
Speculation: It's as if when it wakes from sleep it thinks it a different type of security setting
I have not yet found a proper/permanent solution.
Note: I do have TrendMicro Internet security installed, but it is also on the the other iMac and I have tried it with it off and the problem still occurs, thus I doubt it has much to do with it.
