  • Cannot connect to iTunes store via iPod Touch...

Whenever I try to go to itunes store thru my ipod I always end up with a box that says "Your request could not be completed". Whether I click on music or videos or podcasts its the same result. But for some reason iTunes U seems to work, but nothing else. What is going on? I tried resetting my settings but still not working. I can access itunes and store thru my pc with no problem but wont work with ipod. I'm using ipod 3g 32gb and its not jailbroken and it has 4.0.2.

    1) reboot

I did both of the above and did a restore from backup but it didn't help.
    3) reset networking settings and maybe unplug and replug in your router
I don't think it's a network problem for several reasons. First, I have the exact problem at home and at three WiFi hot spots (McDonald's, the Apple Store, and a shopping mall's network). Second, all other apps that access the Internet are working fine. Third, it's only parts of the App Store and iTunes that don't work. For example, the Update button in the App Store still works but the Featured button still doesn't.
I then went to the Apple Store today and the tech had the exact same problems even after wiping it clean and using their account. They ended up replacing my iPod even though the problem continued on the new one, which hadn't been synced with anything.

YAY! Just checked iTunes via my ipod touch and i've got SOME features back (new releases, genres etc). Still no luck browsing the App Store but i'm guessing this means the problem lays with the stores and not with the ipod itself?
Wish i'd known that before I deleted and reset everything
Yea, I just checked iTunes and some features are working again. Like you, I now I assume the problems are on their end.

  • Can't connect to iTunes from my iPod Touch or from my Computer!!

Since yesterday, I have been having trouble connecting to the iTunes store from my iPod and computer. I can search for apps and whatever on both devices, but when it comes time to download them, on the iPod it just says "Waiting.." for a while, then it says "cannot connect to the iTunes store"
If I try to download an app from iTunes on the computer(Windows Vista, HP), it'll go to the iTunes store, I can search for things all fine and dandy and when I get an app I want to download and click it and type in my password to download it, it'll say, "Accessing iTunes store..." then it says "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The internet connection has timed out"
My internet connection is perfectly fine, working just great. I've tried everything it suggests on the Apple site, from changing the hosts abd firewall settings. NOTHING IS WORKING!
I'd really appreciate some help. This is very frustrating. Holidays are supposed to be happy times, right? :'(
Thanks in advance for any help!!

iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Cannot connect to ITUNES store on IPOD touch 1st generation?

I have an Apple IPOD Touch, 1st generation. I can no longer connect to the ITUNES store. IPOD is almost 4 years old. I've re-set the network settings, (not the actual IPOD itself, would prefer not to do that). I do have internet and all else works fine. IPOD is in great condition and has always been well taken care of. Any helpful hints? IPOD is out of warranty.

  • "Connect to iTunes" icon on iPod Touch 2G???

On Wednesday I upgraded to OS 3.0 on my 16 GB iPod Touch 2G. Everything was working fine until this afternoon when I turned on my iPod to read an e-book that I had been reading earlier and there was a black screen with an icon of a USB plug and an arrow pointing to an iTunes icon. I tried shutting down completely. It didn't help. I tried charging it with a wall plug. (I was at work and couldn't get to iTunes.) It didn't help.
When I got home I connected it to my MacBook and ITunes, it synced and all seems to be well now, but what the heck happened? Is this a sign I have a problem lurking in the background? (And, no, it's not a jailbroken iPod and never has been.) I bought it new, I'm the only user, and it's worked flawlessly until this.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Judie

Have you had this happen before? I haven't. I tried googling "Connect to iTunes icon for iPod Touch" and there were a couple of posts but I sensed that those folks had it happen on a jailbroken iPod.
Did you upgrade to the new iPhone OS 3.0?
I'm hoping someone that knows what caused this will reply so that maybe we can prevent it from happening again. It sure was a helpless feeling when I couldn't get to iTunes while at work. Now I feel like I can't depend on the iPod to always work properly.

  • Cannot connect to itunes from ipod

I have an oldish ipod 8gb 1.1.5 and never really used it properly.  Now I want to and when I try to connect to itunes from it, I get the message 'cannot connect to itunes store'.  Thought it might be easier through my PC, but the PC doesn't even recognise the ipod.  Please help - I am not very computer literate either, so that probably doesn't help!

    See:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    Also:
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
    Then:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • Cannot connect to itunes from my iphone 4

I get a message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes store" yet my App store works fine? This has been going on for a week since i bought my phone.
    Any solutions.

This troubled me for a week....found THE only solution with "complete" (not so complete) success.  iBooks has a completely isolated Apple ID login.  It is not the same as the iTunes Store or App Store.  Here's what works.....Delete your iBooks App...then, log out of your iTunes Store by going to settings/store...choose your ID and log out....then connect to iTunes and add iBooks again...sync....login to iBooks...set up your ID info.....after confirmation...go to settings/store and login again.....now your STORES are online and ready to use.....it's confusing to say the least...Apple must be aligning these for iCloud....SO...to recap....I now have a seperate Apple ID login for iBooks...SAME Apple ID but different password....I tried using the same password as my iTunes Store and it would not work!  I have also attempted changing my password in my account from my MB and it does not recognize the change...I hope this all gets resolved when iCloud is launched....
