I cannot connect to my LAP Top or my MAC VIA USB
When I plug the USB from the DROId Razor X neither my PC or the MAC recognizes theSD card. I know the problem is not with the cable as it shows the phone is charging.
Which phone do you have again? There is no such thing as a "DROID Razr X".
Also what version of Windows is running on your laptop? There have been some people having issues with connecting to Win8 machines. For the MAC computers, you need an additional program called "Android File Transfer" and I think you can get the steps for installation on Android Central or perhaps it was mentioned in another discussion on this community.

Devices show 'Cannot connect to itunes store' when try to purchase via device. However able to purchase via computer therefore password is correct. I purchased a rental film yesterday via ipad so this has just occured today. I've tried rebooting both devices and re sincing with itunes, but the problem remains. I back up via computer not icloud if this makes a difference, which it shouldn't. Any ideas??
I had this exact issue. However, I was not even able to "see" the pending downloads when I tried fixing them using the solution above.
In another thread, I saw that someone mentioned an issue with the use of the "&" (ampersand) symbol in your appleID information. I had recently changed my name and it did include the & symbol in my name (not the appleID itself). I replaced the ampersand with the word "and" and saved. I then went to the iTunes store and logged into my account there and made the same change on my billing name.
Voila! I could now access the 7 pending downloads on my desktop Mac and download them, and all iPhone/iPad/Ipods were again able to download from the app store.
incidentally, I had several support tickets open on this issue and never once did the Apple person even suggest that this might be the issue. -
Is it possible to connect two Macs via USB ?
Is it possible to connect two Macs via USB just like Firewire back in the day via Target mode or is there something similar? I am asking this because about 2-3 years ago I would normally image Macs via Target Mode. I used to have a regular Macbook running 10.6 along with a customized-ready-to-go .dmg image saved on the Desktop. Whenever I needed to put that image into any Mac I would simply connect the two Macs via Firewire, I would then press "T" at startup which will get me in Target Mode, I would then see the disk appear in the desktop of the Mac I had the image. I would then copy that image to the T mode macbook using super duper. Can this still be done through USB with new models and if so will I also need to press T at startup ?
No, USB connection does not qualify for this, only firewire and thunderbolt, as I read (but cannot test, for the time being I have only one such mac around).
This is why the short series of alu MBs (2008) are not qualified for target mode either.

Now the first question is, when you are saying connecting to personal hotspot, have you always been using the iPhone to connect to the internet? Are you someplace where the only place to connect is available via tethering to the iPhone's celluar network? Or do you have other options? -

The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine. Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection. Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties). The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8. When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

I'm in need for a thunderbolt display before December. My old Imac is like new (don't want to invest in a new Imac yet). Can I connect the thund-D to the old Imac via USB for the time being?
Their are some display adaptors you can get. I have an older Mac Pro with DVI but my monitor is a Thunderbolt Display. This used to be around $250. It is way cheaper now.

I got a new lap top. I have downloaded adobe reader. It will not allow me to authorize with my adobe id because I had used it to authorize my adobe reader on my old lap top? what do i need to do?

Domain users cannot connect to the network folders when logged in via rds remote apps

recently I setup an RDS farm for remote apps on server 2012 r2.
all users can connect to the apps published. no problems there.
but when users connect via rds they cannot connect to the networkfolders and cannot store the resultance of there work (docx and xlsx files)
all users are normally connected to the networkfolders using a small login batch file handing down the unc path needed. when I log in as domain admin, also using a login batch, connections are setup correctly. It seems to me to be an security issue on the
rds session host.
how to alter this?

We use WMI to communicate with the RDSH server. Various issues can cause WMI to deny access or return error codes. Here's a few things you can try:
1. Check if the "TS Web Access Computers" security group on the RDSH server has incorrect permissions in DCOM and/or WMI:
For checking DCOM security settings:
1. Start the Component Services MMC snapin
2. Navigate to Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer
3. Right-click on My Computer and select properties
4. Go to the COM Security tab
5. Under Access Permissions, click the Edit Limits button
6. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list, with all of the permissions set to “allow”.
7. Under Launch and Activation Permissions, click the Edit Limits button
8. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list, with all of the permissions set to “allow”.
For checking WMI security settings:
1. Start the WMI Control MMC snapin
2. Right-click the WMI Control node and select properties
3. Go to the Security tab
4. Navigate to Root->CIMV2->TerminalServices
5. With TerminalServices selected, click the Security button
6. Ensure that TS Web Access Computers is in the list with Execute Methods, Enable Account, and Remote Enable set to "allow"
2. Verify the RD Session Host server's firewall allows WMI calls.
3. Verify that the RD Connection Broker hasn't lost its trust relationship with the domain.
4. See if non-RDS related WMI calls can be successfully made to the RDSH server. This can help differentiate between a general WMI issue and an issue calling the RDS WMI provider.

How to transfer I tunes from old windows lap top to new Mac lap top
How do you transfer your i tunes account from an old windows lap top to your new Mac?
Drag and drop copy the iTunes folder to a external hard drive on Windows, then take it to the Mac and use iTunes there to import it.
If you want to read/write the external drive between Mac's and PC's, right click on the drive and format it exFAT or FAT in Windows, not NTFS.
Some Mac's can read NTFS, but not write to that format as it's proprietary.
When you format the drive, all data will be erased on it, so make sure before you do so. -

The set up is fine, but the bonjour version of the printer only lasts 1 second before going away. I have had this product for a while and struggled when I first got it with this issue. Finally i just accepted the fact that I bought a wireless product that needed to be hard wired. Guess i should have saved some money or bought from a different company. Now my 2 year old is mulling around and I need to wirelessly connect my printer in a location he cannot reach.

Perhaps via USB. I have a large amount of data that I want to back up and it is taking a very long time (35GB is taking 3 hrs, I have 2TB if files in total)...? I want to use TimeCapsule as back-up for an archive which is curently stored on a 2 TB WESC HD.
No, you cannot backup via direct usb connection..
But gigabit ethernet is much faster anyway.. are you connected directly by ethernet?
Is the drive you are backing up from plugged into the TC? That will slow it down something chronic.. plug that drive in by its fastest connection method.. WESC sorry I have no idea. If ethernet use that.. otherwise USB direct to the computer.. always think what way the files come and go.. but since you are copying from the computer everything has to go that way.. it makes things slower if they go over the same cable.. if you catch the drift.
