I cannot connect to the iTunes Store running iTunes 8.2.1 for Mac OS X

I have an old eMac (800 Ghz G4) running OSX 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.2.1. For unknown reasons I can no longer access the iTunes Store. It only displays a page about upgrading to 10.3.1, which won't run on my computer. I thought I'd try reinstalling 8.2.1 but the only installer I could find is for a G3.

Try iTunes 9.2.1 which will run on OS X 10.4.11. iTunes 9.2.1, http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1056
You also need at least Safari 4.0.3 to connect to the iTunes Store. You can download Safari 4.1.3 for OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1069

Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.

The last message had some more stuff in between the "Hello" and "Regards" - I have no idea what happened to it. But nevermind...
I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). The hub I current use is the

ok so i've been reading around and i can't seem to find a definitive answer.
i'm running OS 10.6.8 but anytime i attempt to open the app store i get the message 'cannot connect to the app store'.
i've tried reinstalling the 10.6.8 combo update, but that hasn't worked, i've tried reinstalling the original snow leopard disk that came with the macbook pro, then doing software updates, but that hasn't worked. any advice would be greatly appreciated, just want to upgrade to lion but i have to have access to the app store to do so, frustrating. thanks in advance for any help,

Cannot Connect to the iBooks Store

When I open the iBooks store in Mavericks I get "Cannot Connect to the iBooks Store". Also, in Safari anything it cannot connect to anything that uses HTTPS (secure/encrypted connection) such as Twitter. However I do not know if that persisted from Mountain Lion, as I use Firefox. It is solely with my computer, the other mac on Mavericks connects just fine. However, here's where it gets strange. My iPhone, which I have my keychain synced to, does not have a problem. Additionally, the iTunes Store on iTunes can connect to the books section. I've tried going through my certificates and resetting them to Use System Default, using First Aid, changing my MTU in Network Preferences to 1300, and fixing disk permissions, but none of that worked. I have no proxies and no DNS servers.
I'm getting this error in this console whenever I open iBooks: NSURLConnection/CFURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9813).

I have exactly the same issue as describet by "bengersfoo", i.e.
"I can find exactly the certificate that pavelfrompraha mentions, and it is set to "Always Trust".
But I cannot reem to reset it to System Defaults. When I choose that option it has always reverted to "Always Trust" whenever I check again."
It would be very helpful if someone could please explain how to make the "System Defaults" setting stick.

Cannot connect to the app store

Hi all,
My girlfriend has a macbook air, and wanted to update her computer to Lion. I had no problem doing that on my own macbook pro, but I can't do it on hers. She didn't update her softwares regularly, so at first I found myself having to update a ton softwares so I could finally install the Mac App Store. Once it finished installing though I was never able to actually use it, as when I open the application it just says: "Cannot Connect to the App Store". I looked up online and people had similar problems, and none of the suggested solutions worked:
- Starting up the computer in "Safe Mode" did not work;
- Repairing all the permissions in the Disk Utility application did not work;
- Signing out and in the Mac App Store from the App Store application did not work;
- The problem is certainly not the internet connection because I was able to update my computer in the same connection, and I can regularly access it on my computer.
Does anyone have a tip to solve this problem?

Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

Also having that problem - I checked and I am connected to internet (can access other websites or other pages in Apple's website), can login from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) with Mac App Store there, but if I use the (external) drive with ML to start up, no go.
I can get to the "Featured"/initial MAS page, and tried going to the login from there, but same problem as Mitoshacer.
In my case, MacBook Pro (2.66GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB external with ML - vs. 320GB internal drive with 10.6.8), March/April 2009 model. Have done searches for the problem online, but nothing shows up (except some for older OS X versions).

I purchased Lion thru the app store and it was deducted from my account. I cannot download it. I can download other apps, but it seems like Lion is hung up or something. Reset the iPad and try again. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons, let the iPad start up.
