I cannot create new bookmark folders

When I try to create a new bookmark folder, the option appears gray in my toolbox and won't let me use it. I can't seem to create new folders though I can use old ones.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • After upgrade to 6.3.4 cannot create new bookmarks by dragging nor open existing bookmark properties

    Just upgraded to 3.64. Now I cannot create new bookmarks either by dragging a URL or trying to create a new one in organize bookmarks. For existing bookmarks when I hit properties on the pop up menu all I get is a title bar that says "bookmark properties for (name of bookmark)" but I can't resize it or otherwise manipulate the title bar to access information or change the properties

    Hello Victor.
    You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
    If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • Your instructions for creating new bookmark folders do not work on my computer.

    I have followed your instructions to the letter for Making new bookmark folders. But, when I hold down the "Ctrl" key on the Mac while clicking on the folder which will contain the new folder, I do not get a "New Folder" option to select. Instead, the window defaults into the regular Google window where I would type in a word or words to search for something on the web. Therefore, no new folder window appears for me to type in the name I want to create for the folder. What am I doing wrong?

    if your Air had died from lack of power, and since then ALL remaining power drained, then you may encounter a fault at charge.
    Sounds as if you have the correct charger, but no indication of charging or any powering on.
    Contact Apple for in shop diagnosis about your incapacity to charge your Air,...and I assume also inability to power on your unit.

  • Folders that I had previously created and put bookmarked sites in have disappeared and Im unable to create new folders for sites I want to bookmark. I've checked the support info and it doesn't say anything about creating new subject folders?

    Bookmark folders that I had previously created have disappeared so I can't access any of my bookmarks. The process I used to create new subject bookmarks doesn't seem to be there anymore. The apple support doesnt mention creating new bookmark folders or what to do if you lose your bookmark folders.

  • Cannot create new folders in Outlook

    I just bought a new PC computer.  I installed MSFT Office Professional Plus 2010.  I opened Outlook and added in (i) the pst folder I had set up from my previous Vista
    computer (also with Outlook 2010), (ii) my hotmail account, (iii) my at&t/yahoo account and (iv) my gmail account.  I cannot create new folders in any of them.
    When I right click anywhere in the navigation pane and select "New Folder..." I get the following error message:
    "Outlook cannot read the registry information.
    -Close and restart Outlook.
    -Reinstall Outlook
    -Reinstall Microsoft Exchange or other e-mail system."
    I tried all three, including removing and reinstalling Office and removing all of the email accounts/pst files and re-adding and still have the problem.
    If I try to right-click properties on any of the accounts, I get the same error message, with the following additional language first:
    "Cannot display 'General' page. This page will remain visible, but is not available."
    Not sure what is left to try.
    Appreciate any ideas.

  • Can't create new bookmarks in safari. Lost all my existing book marks

    Lost all bookmarks, cannot create new ones.

    Back up all data before proceeding.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy it to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist
    Quit Safari.
    Select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the Finder menu bar. Paste into the text box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return.
    A folder window should open with a file named "Bookmarks.plist" selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the folder open.
    Relaunch Safari. It will open with the default set of bookmarks. Delete them all. Select
              File ▹ Import from... (or Import Bookmarks...)
    from the Safari menu bar. Import from the bookmarks file you moved to the Desktop. Arrange the bookmarks as you wish.
    If Safari now performs normally, you can delete the old bookmarks file. Otherwise, quit Safari again and put back the file you moved, replacing the newer one with the same name. Close the Finder window and post your results.

  • Creating New Bookmark Programmatically in Acrobat v9

    I want to programmatically create new bookmarks in Acrobat v9.
    For v7 the code I'm using is app.MenuItemExecute({cName:"Split Bookmarks",cParent:"Edit",cExec:"brk(this.bookmarkRoot);",nPos:1}).
    What has this been updated to in v9?
    Thank you.

    Sorry, I sent the wrong line of code.
    Has this command been updated for v9:
    app.execMenuItem("NewBookmark")
    When I run the below code Acrobat says there is an internal error.
    I'm assuming the issue is "app.execMenuItem("NewBookmark")".
    function brk(splitbm)
    // * is the authors choice for the split character, you may change it
    if (splitbm.name.indexOf('*') != -1)
    split(splitbm);
    //split if the bookmark name has the ^ charater
    if (splitbm.children != null)
    for (var i=0;i< splitbm.children.length;i++)
    newbrk(splitbm.children[i]);
    // split all the children bookmarks of mybm
    function split(bm)
    var bmname=bm.name;
    var splitat=bmname.indexOf('*');
    // The user can change the * , remember to change the previous function as well
    var topname=bmname.substring(0,splitat);
    var botname=bmname.substring(splitat+1,bmname.length);
    var thisdoc=bm.doc;
    bm.execute();
    app.execMenuItem("NewBookmark");
    var thisdoc=bm.doc;
    var rootlen=thisdoc.bookmarkRoot.children.length;
    var newbm=thisdoc.bookmarkRoot.children[rootlen-1];
    newbm.name=botname;
    bm.name=topname;
    // make all [childbookmarks of mybm] newbm's children
    if (bm.children != null)
    var endpos=bm.children.length;
    for(a=0;a<endpos;a++)
    newbm.insertChild(bm.children[0]);
    //make newbm mybm's child
    bm.insertChild(newbm);
    app.addMenuItem({cName:"Split Bookmarks",cParent:"Edit",cExec:"brk(this.bookmarkRoot);",nPos:1});

  • Cannot create new folder?

    I have just moved to a new hosting and have connected to it
    and I can edit files. When I try to add a folder to the remove I'll
    get
    "An FTP error occured - cannot create new folder .
    Access denied. The file may not exist or there could be a
    permission problem".
    Any idea?

    Hi,
    Did you make any changes before the issue appears?
    Before going further, you may try the
    system restore to go back to a previous status and check the result.

    i bought  recently a second hand apple i phone 4s but now i cannot creat new apple id .

    I suspect you're referring to the 3 free iCloud account limit on an iOS device. If so, there's no way around this. Once that limit is reached, you'll have to create the iCloud account on another iOS device or computer, then setup that account on your phone.

  • Error message appear when creating new bookmarks

    When creating new bookmarks a pop-up window appear with the following info:
    unload: [Exception..."Component retyrned failure code:0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIObserverService.removeObserver]" nsresult:"0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame:: chrome://trustchecker/content/trustchecker.js:: anonymous:: line 955" data:no]
    The bookmark is saved at the bottom of the list but it is not possible to select folder to store bookmark. How do I fix this problem?

    I believe Trust Checker is part of Zone Alarm, to test this try disabling the Zone Alarm add-ons in Firefox to see if you can then create new bookmarks.
    To disable extensions:
    Click the Tools menu and then select Add-ons . The Add-ons window appears.
    # In the Add-ons window, click the Extensions panel. The list of installed extensions appears.
    # Click the name of an extension in the list to select it.
    # Click Disable to disable the selected extension.
    # Click Restart Firefox .
    If it does turn out to be the Zone Alarm extension causing the problem, check for any updates to Zone Alarm, if none you could report the issue to them.

  • Cannot create new LWP?

    To test my Server process, I make a Client process to send numerous requests by creating one-connection-one-thread.
    Under same amount of connections (such as 50 connections), indefinitely, the process will be error as follow:
    libthread panic: cannot creat new LWP (PID:XXX LWP 2) stacktrace:XXXXXX
    my question is:
    If there are limits of LWP in a process?
    I use unbound thread and let the kernel to balance threads between LWP, must I use bound thread?

    I've seen this when my program used a lot of file descriptors. Using truss I could see that a call to open /dev/zero failed and a libthread panic message was displayed. Try using the ulimit command to increase your limit on open files.
