I cannot delete music from iCloud!

I don't have (nor do I want) iTunes Match. Every time I press the 'delete'  key or right click the only option I'm given is to hide the music. Please help!

On your iOS devices, you can go to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turn Music off under Show All.  In iTunes on your Mac, go to iTunes>Preferences>Store and uncheck Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.  This will hide these in your song list.  Also, they aren't stored in your iCloud account.  What you are seeing are links to the iTunes store, giving you the option to redownload them if desired.

The only music I can play or burn to cd are the songs I've recently purchased.  So it is all my music basically.

  • Cannot delete music from ipod touch, tried everything suggested thus far.

I have tried several suggestions up to this point and nothing has worked. It is my understanding that everything in My Music, (on my PC) transfers to the iTunes program, either manually or automaticlly. It is also my understanding that if I add or delete music from iTunes, that it will automatically be added or deleted on my iPod Touch, (4th gen). Well, none of this has proven to be true...at best, it is sporatic and frustrating. Any new ideas out there?

Thanks for the help....I tried your suggestion, but I am still experiencing inconsistent results.
    Buy doing what?...
You need to be more specific about what you are trying. "I've tried several suggestions" tells us nothing. You've tried my suggestion (but I made two - dependant upon what you are doing), but you haven't told me how you are managing your iPod, are you using Sync or manually managing? Without that knowledge, everything else is meaningless.
If you are using Sync, and you have selected *Sync only ticked songs and videos,* then un-ticking a song and then performing a Sync will remove the song. So what are you doing?

  • Cannot delete music from my new iPod nano

I have just bought an iPod nano 4GB and when I first got it I copied over almost a full 4GB of music to it. I have now ripped a lot of my cds in itunes and have about 20GB of music so I cannot copy the entire library, therefore I would like to copy everything over manually. I have set this option in the iPod preferences but it doesnt seem to do much. I cannot delete any of the music from the iPod. In iTunes, I go to my iPod and select a tune and press delete, then it prompts me about deleting it from the list. I press Yes and it says "do not disconnect" but then when I go to the iPod, the tune is still there. I even tried deleting all of the tunes at once but nothing.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Allan

I have managed to solve the problem. It appears that the file structure on the iPod had been corrupted so I used the iPod utility to erase the disk and install factory settings again. All seems to work fine now...

  • Cannot delete music from iPod

    Hi all,
I have a 32Gb iPod Touch. My library makes it necessary to only load music that can fill the iPod, as I have more music that that.
I attempted to delete my iPod library, which seemed to work initially. BUT, not all the music was deleted - 4 albums remained. I then did the drastic action of Resetting the iPod back to the manufacturer's original setup.
The 4 albums STILL appear (?). I have been able to add music from iTunes OK, but I cannot find a way to remove the albums I don't require.
I'd appreciate any help/instructions that can solve the [problem.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks IIIaass for your prompt help.
After I used the iPod Touch to delete all of the system, and then reinstalled, I wound up with 4 albums still remaining on the Touch. No way could I remove them.  I used iTunes Music for installing albums on the Touch using the small box that shows what appliances are running. All went in without a problem, and all played.
The result is that the 4 albums are still there, and I can't figure out how to remove them. I would have thought that a total reinstall on the Touch would have eliminated all the music - the remaining 4 albums were a small number of the 60 or so albums that were on it. How they were removed and these 4 still stayed is the mystery.
I was installing music via the Apple Mac via Finder, where all my music comes into (I don't use iTunes Store). I highlighted the tracks of the album and dragged them to the Touch via the small box on the top L/H side. All went in, and appeared on the play list - by artist, album and tracks. It was only when I looked into the Community Help that I was aware that one could choose the Touch by highlighting the tracks in iTunes, and then dragging them up to the top L/H side, where all of a sudden the Touch icon was show, together with any other icons for other players. No hint anywhere I could find that mentioned this method. Using it was much quicker, and the 60-70 albums went in with no problems.
With all the above, I'm still at a standstill in trying to eliminate the 4 albums that still reside.
If there's any other options you might recommend I'd be really pleased.
    Regards
    Barrie

  • HT204074 Don't have iTunes Match so apparently I can't delete music from iCloud?

How do I delete songs from the iCloud when I don't use Music Match? Somehow, songs I don't want just automatically add themselves to my iPhone after I've manually added only songs I want to be on it... One particular song (I purchased by mistake) is no longer my iTunes library but keeps being added back.
    Please Help!!!

You can't permanently delete any items from your purchase history, but you should be able to hide songs so that they don't show in the Purchased tab for redownloading (that also hide them from the Music app if you have Settings > Music > Show All Music 'on') : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
(For info you've posted in the Using iPad forum.)

  • I can't delete music from icloud

Hi, i have a big problem. I want to delete all my music in the cloud. I have 3k music and all track are ine the cloud (itunes match). When i delete music i mark 'deletemin the cloud too'. Music dissapears from itunes but are still in my ipad and iphone (all tracks from deleted library, there is cloud icon). How i can delete music in the cloud? I want to start from nothing, when i rip cd (first album in a blank library) and itunes match starts there are show all deleted tracks. Can apple support can reset my itunes match account or something?
    Sorry for my english...

Wow, thanks a million! This worked.
Looks like the library got screwed up and disabling iTunes Match with the option key pressed forced it to flush the cache or something. After doing this I was able to remove those albums and also edit tags of music that has already been uploaded to iCloud, which is another thing that didn't work before. I just didn't complain about it, because I read somewhere that this was by purpose.
Also, I was thinking of glueing down my option key so it's always pressed. I can't believe how many undocumented features it hides. Want to choose another library for iTunes or iPhoto? Keep alt pressed. Want to delete a song from iTunes while you're in a playlist? Keep alt pressed, and there's many more. Googling for "option key mac hidden features" actually brought up a few more interesting ones.

  • Cannot delete music from iPod nano (latest generation).  Have already selected "Manually Manage music and videos" but delete is unavailable from right click or Edit.

I have done everything I've seen recommended for deleting music (jncluding "manually manage").  Thanks for the assistance!!!

Did you Apply the change after selecting (checking the box for) Manually manage music and videos?
With the latest iTunes, if the sidebar is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
In the sidebar, select the iPod under DEVICES.  Click the toggle (to the left of iPod) to drop down the iPod's content list, indented under iPod.  Click on Music there.  Over to the right, the list of songs on the iPod is shown.  You can select songs there, right click on them, and select Delete from the contextual menu.  You can also select songs there, go up to the menu bar, and select Delete under Edit.  You can also select songs there, and just press the Delete key on the keyboard.
If you want to use automatic syncing, which is far more convenient than the manual method, and easily manage content on the iPod (add and remove songs), please post back.

  • Cannot delete music from ipod nano if not connected!

I couldn´t believe it´s not possible to delete files from my ipod nano 4G when not connected to my PC !! I use it to record talks (w/ XtremeMac´s MicroMemo) and I needed to make some room to record important talks in a seminar and I found it´s impossible to delete some downloaded music! It´s unbelieveable such simple and useful feature is not implemented yet even in this (otherwise excellent) newest generation ipod!!!
Would it be likely a future firmware with this feature?

"Would it be likely a future firmware with this feature?"
No one here would know what future upgrades Apple have planned and they don't as a rule pre-announce what will be contained in Firmware updates. You can leave your feedback/feature request at this link: Apple Product Feedback

  • Cannot download music from icloud

I cannot download songs from the cloud for some reason, it keeps coming up with stopped (err = 503), yet i can play music from the cloud.
Also, i've just updated to the latest version of itunes today.
Thank you in advance for any help received.

Well the remaining songs reappeared but now I am unable to download again. I am trying to clean up my music library with TuneUp. I'm wondering if there is some conflict between iTunes and TuneUp that is causing this behavior? Anyone?

  • I cannot delete music from my iPhone through iTunes software on my Windows 7 computer. Why is that so?

Can you please help me out? When I bring up all my songs on my iPhone onto iTunes software, the songs are all greyed out. It does not give me the option to delete them. What do I do?

    Hello kelleywinn_1,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Are there additional issues with deleting your music beyond what you have described here? According to this article it is a fairly simple and straight forward process to deleting music with iTunes 11.
