I cannot delete some of my downloads, including a rogue one

I have a number of downloads I no longer need, but cannot see how to delete them. Now I have one which is a scam and I urgently need to get this off the system but am unable to do so.

Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPhone in relation to music. Does the music that appeared on your device have a cloud symbol next to it when viewed in “Songs”? If so, it sounds like these songs are not yet downloaded to your phone. Instead, it sounds like you have the “Show All [Music]” setting enabled (by default in iOS 7):

Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.

I deleted almost all my photos, all my apps, i deleted almost all the info that is on the apps that you can't delete, but it says I have too much music and I only have 45 songs!!!!!!!! and I don't want to delete them because that's what I'm trying to listen to but I can't because of whatever reason. 1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

See if anything here helps.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

I cannot delete certain apps from my Iphone. (Not System Apps) They are blacked out, if I press and hold the app the option is there to delete it however it does not delete. After pressing the X it says "deleting xxxx will also delete all of its data" I click delete, but nothing happens. I verified that i do not have any restrictions. Any suggestions?

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the apps may not have downloaded to your iPhone completely. I recommend trying the solution from this discussion thread first:
App updates won't download on my iPhone, they just say waiting.

Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Got a USB External HDD, formatted as FAT32 cannot delete some files off it

I have a backup HDD that I use, its formatted as FAT, so I can use it on my Mac Leopard and a Win XP machine. All works fine.
However when in Leopard I try to delete certain folder/files, it pops up and asks for my Admin username and password, type in in, you hear a "clunk" as if its going to trash, but doesn't go and stays on the USB HDD. Not all files/folders do this, some go no problems, other not.
I have repaired permission on my Mac HD, verified the USB disk etc, but nothing.
how can I delete some folders off please

How do I delete some shows I downloaded with Amazon prime from my mini iPad?

My iPad mini is getting full, so I'd like to delete the shows I've downloaded. Can I just delete the shows, or do I need to delete amazon prime, and then reinstall it?

The solution is:
1) Settings > Music > turn on "Show all music"
2) Open music app, and download all the songs that have the button next to it "cloud button".
3) After songs are download, swipe on the song you want to delete from right to left.
The download button will come back on, but ignore it.
4) Close music app.
5) Go back to settings, turn off "show all music"

I don't understand this - when I look in my Ovi Store and search my "Own Files", then I can find e.g. the Youtube app. I installed it today via Ovi Store.
When I look in my main menu under Programs, I cannot find it.
Also, if I search my memory card with the file manager.
I have the same behaviour with "Townsmen 6" - I downloaded and installed it long ago, and then my phone became a deep reset and software update at the Nokia Care Point - but the software was installed on the memory card, which of course was removed before deep reset.
I can find all this programs in the Program Manager, but not in the menu under Programs or any other folder and also not in the File Manager.
What's up with this phone? I didn't hack around with my phone - every app until now was installed via Ovi Store and removed via onboard tools from the phone.

I can tell you another funny story:
I deinstalled all applications, which could be seen in the program manager, but not in the menu - this was Townsmen 6 and the Youtube app.
I reinstalled the Youtube app with Ovi Store - still it cannot be seen in the menu, and also not in the file manager.
BUT IT CAN BE STARTED IN THE OVI STORE! And it works completely!
What's this? A total inconsistency! I will try to search the phone, when connected to the PC.
What else can I do??

I cannot fine some of my downloaded pictures

I am new to Firefox, and I noticed that some of my pictures downloaded correctly and some of them came up with the firefox logo as a placeholder. When I clicked on the logo the picture became a long string of numbers and letters, like it was an html document or something. What happened? I noticed that some of the pics did take a while to load, too.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

P.s. You can't use iPhoto to manage files that are also managed by Lightroom. You really need to pick on of those horses and ride it.

Cannot delete some emails from hub on Q10 since 10.2 update

Ever sisnce the update, I have a few messages, all from different emails, that will not delete off the hub. they have been deleted off of their respected servers and when I go to open them, it says "could not display message". Furthermore, one is showing as an unread message.
Battery pull, BBlink and restarts have no effect. Any suggetions, other than wipe and reinstall?

I am not able to delete some photos and videos on my iPhone 4S, (32gb, ios 7.0.4). It is 3gb worth of videos and photos. The photos are not in my camera roll (i deleted that to zero) and the videos are not in the video app. When I go to album view I cannot delete some albums, I can delete some but not others. There is a folder/album called video and that is where I have a bunch of videos.
I tried to go to iTunes and just resync my photos to nothing (sync with selected photos and select nothing) and that is not working because iTunes is saying that it is not Authorized. I try to re-authorized the computer only to be told that it is authorized. I backup and sync again and basically cant even sync my iphone anymore. Backup yes, sync no.
This must be an ios7 problem because I had no trouble before.
How can I delete the 3gb worth of photos and videos? how can i delete the albums that are not offered to delete ?

Never mind guys, I found out how to fix my problem. The problem I had was that I downloaded an app on my iMac, and used it to import videos and pictures from my ipad to my computer because for some reason, it wouldn't sync, and I didn't want to use the cloud. Anyway, I had to go on my iMac and delete it from the app I downloaded and viola! The videos that I wanted to delete are all gone

I would like to delete some photos, I have discovered that the ones I am unable to delete do not have an original file associated with them, how can I delete these from within iPhoto
I know I can go to the iphoto file and delete that but then I'm just left with a blank screen or exclamation mark and I want to get rid of it permanently

Well you have two options:

CUIC 8.5.2 Cannot delete reports

Hi Team,
I cannot delete some CUIC report in my stock folder as I get the message "Failed to delete the report. It may have already been deleted by another user."
These reports were saved from the standard reports while the replication subscriber wasn't fully working.
Any idea why I cannot delete these report as for now the subscriber is now on line ?

Thank you for helping me on this topic.
Let me detail the test I made as I wanted to see how resilient was the replication process when the Publisher was off line. I have a CUIC 8.5.2 Publisher and a Subscriber running on my site with both database replicated.
I disconnected the CUIC Publisher network cable, then I connected my IE web browser on the CUIC Subscriber admin web page.
In the Stock Report I selected a report "Agent Temps Historique" (Agent Historical) and I filled in the requested information @start_date, @end_date et @agent_list before lauching the report. (At this stage the report was running fine.)
Then I selected the “SaveAS” button and filled in the Name, Report category and the group permission and clicked on the “OK” button.
At that stage I got the following popup "Save operation failed (Retrieving filter by id java.lang.NullPointerException))".
However the report with the new name was saved without any details in the @start_date, @end_date et @agent_list ) fields.
Then, whenever I try to delete the « SaveAs » report I get another message : "Failed to delete the report. It may have already been deleted by another user"
The same error message appears even when I put the Publisher back online, making sure that the replication is running (with the command “utils dbreplication runtimestate”). I also selected the button “Synchronise Cluster” with no improvement.
See underneath the CUIC log (details attached) whenever I try to delete a report named "Test_Changement1" with the Publisher and the replication online:

What bothers me is the fact that I cannot delete a report although I admit this report was saved in a awkward condition (users are not supposed to know whenever the Publisher is down). The Subscriber should refuse to save a new report whenever the Publisher is off line, if it cannot handle it.
Note: I did the same kind of test (Publisher disconnected) while declaring new users on a Subscriber. I didn’t get any error at all. When I re-connected the Publisher the users were properly replicated.
To answer your questions:
1) Did you refresh the report page to see if your reports still exist under STOCK category?

Why can't I delete some podcasts on iTunes 11.1?

I have OS X 10.6.8. I upgraded from iTunes 11.0.5 to 11.1, and now I cannot delete some of my podcasts, even if I unsubscribe to them first. In some cases, I can delete a podcast, but it returns immediately, with that new cloud icon beside it. Does anyone know how I can delete these darned things?

I have this issue as well in itunes 11.01. Can't right click, get a menu and delete a movie/video. Can't highlight and hit delete key. Have actually gone into iTunes location on Windows 7 and completely deleted all videos from both the music and tv shows folders from my computer. Then, deleted them from my recycle bin so they no longer exist on my computer. Same goes for books.
They still show up in iTunes, and still sync to iPad...
