I cannot display my desktop on my tv
I am trying to view my laptop screen on my tv. I am using an HDMI cable and a belkin adapter that I bought from apple. The desktop screen appears but my icons do not. I am trying to watch a video from my laptop onto my tv.
If the screen appears but no icons then it is being used as an Extended desktop. You should be able to drag things onto it by either dragging them off the right (or left) sides of the screen.

Hello,
I browse portal which version is 2005Q1 in win98 chinese version, but the userinfo on the portal desktop left cannot display correctly. Here the userinfo should be chinese word with utf-8 code.
But in win2000 and XP, it display well.
The userinfo template is /etc/opt/SUNWps/desktop/ut_zh/UserInfo/html/content.template.
Please help me to solve it.Do you use chinese version of Portal under chinese locale supported by 2005Q1 platforms? I'll assume your Window98 IE is supported chinese as well . Userinfo in one of channels under desktop. Do you have any other channel which display chinese characters? Look at userinfo channel configuration and select client=HTML to examine correct locale for this property. If you have more than one channel need to display localization character, please create different locale of desktop and apply them all together.
Look at the Portal customization manual for more detail. HTH, Jerry -
Error message "This program cannot display the webpage when uploading images to Cafe Press
I have had a Café Press shop for five years and except for sometimes being slow, no problems uploading images. Now, suddenly for 3 days I get the message "This program cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
• You are not connected to the Internet.
• The website is encountering problems.
• There might be a typing error in the address.
What you can try:
Check your Internet connection. Try visiting another website to make sure you are connected.
Retype the address."
I got the messsage about half way through the uploading of an image. People suggested using "firefox" instead of IE so I now get a similar error message from Firefox. I signed in, clicked on the image I wanted to upload and hit "upload" and get message as follows:
Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at members.cafepress.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of
www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
None of this makes sense because I WAS connected to the internet (obviously) or I wouldn't have been able to sign in, go to my media basket, browse for the image and click "upload" and watch as the progress bar showed percentage of upload such as 20%, etc. and even went to 100% at times before giving me the error message. Plus I couldn't make a typing error since I wasn't typing anything but uploading an image. Any suggestions?
Whatever your suggestion, I need step by step instructions as I am totally computer illiterate. I don't even know what a "proxy" is and don't know if I have a "firewall" as the message suggests. I have "Comodo" security and am using Windows XP.
I contacted CP which was no help at all. All they did was tell me to clear my cache which I do after every session. Thanks
Nancy

Cannot display the screen of my macbook on TV. OS is Lion 10.7.2. The Macbook is connected to the TV is over HDMI cable. TV shows only the backgroud picture of the Lion OS and reacts even to mission control. Do you have any suggestions for help ?
You have the display set in Extended Desktop mode. In System Preferences>Display on the MacBook screen there should be an Arrangement tab when you have the MacBook hooked up to the TV and both screens working. When you click the Arrangement tab do you see two monitors side by side? One of them will have a Menu Bar at the top. Just click on the Menu Bar and drag it to the second monitor. That will make the second monitor your main screen. You can now use your MacBook in Clamshell Mode with a wired or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3131 When you disconnect from the TV your Menu Bar will automatically change back to the MacBook.
Or if you want to work on the MacBook screen while showing it on a TV you can check the Mirror Display box on the lower left hand side of the Arrangement tab under the two monitors box. -
Digital Input Cannot Display this Video Mode Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60hz.
HP Pavilion h8-1360t, Windows7 home premium 64-bit, AMD Radeon HD 7570 graphics card.
error message: Digital Input Cannot Display this Video Mode Optimum Resolution 1280 x 1024 60hz.
I get the error message as soon as Windows opens and the desktop displays. Then it goes black with that message. I've been using the computer for awhile and I had it so that when I maximized a window it would go across both screens. I have two monitors on the graphics card. Somehow I changed the settings so that a program would maximize to one monitor or the other. That is how I want it to work. Maybe I activated HydraVision. Now I have the problem when I start.
Also now when I boot to Safe Mode I get the message that there is no AMD graphics driver installed, or it is not functioning properly. I have tried to update it and the computer tells me I have the most recent version installed. I would like to uninstall it and reinstall it, but I'm a little worried I won't get it installed and be without video. Something like that happened to me once before years ago.
Could someone tell me what I should do please?
Thanks,
Jim AllenHP support is here:

In safe mode you should uninstall the driver, then try to boot normal again.
Then check if driver was installed by win7.
If not go go AMD website and download latest driver for your card.

Receive ping throw WRT54G setup but cannot display web-pages.
Hi
I have a WRT54G router, connected to the same DSL modem for 4 years and everything was fine till last week. Since last week, i cannot display any web pages, despite the fact that i am connected to my ISP (it was checked with there support team).
I have 3 different laptops and 1 desktop with different browsers and different OS (XP, VISTA) on them and same antivirus (AVAST!).
I receive pings from all the laptops and desktop to the router (ping 192.168.1.1), which mean that they connect probably to the router
I was able to receive ping from different websites throw the router setup (192.168.1.1) under "Administrator" tab and then under "diagnostic" tab, But I cannot display any web pages.
Does any one might know what may be the problem?
Thank you.Thank you for the quick respond.
I connect the computer directly to the modem and it work just fine.
When I ping throw command prompt in the computer (connected to the router) I receive the next massage "bla bla bla o recevie bla bla 5 packet loss or something".
I was able to receive ping from different websites throw the router setup (192.168.1.1) under "Administration" tab and then under "diagnostic" tab.
The problem was solved yesterday by updating the firmware and reseting the router with the reset button.
Very wired.
Anyone have any idea what may was the problem? -
WRT300N v1 Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
An intermittent problem occurs where occasionally during browsing the web I'll get an Internet Explorer "cannot display the webpage" and then I reload the page and often it works on the reload. The problem is very frequent and so nearly every webpage I try to open I have to reload in order to access it.
A temporary fix is unplugging the WRT300N v1 and plugging it back in. For a while, it works fine, but eventually the problem creeps up again.
I have firmware v 1.03.3
I've got two laptops, one Mac running OS 10.x and one Dell running Vista. I also have a desktop PC running XP. The two laptops use the wireless connection. The PC uses a wired connection. All 3 computers experience this same problem browsing web pages.
I've read the forums and mostly I've seen people talking about problems with the WRT300N v1 as far as the wireless connection, but this time I'm having issues even with the wired connection, so I feel that this issue isn't addressed, or at least I haven't found where it was addressed.
How do I fix this issue permanently?I too am having the same problem. I used another system with IE7 installed and found that many sites that were "unable to be displayed" were accessed with IE7 on a differant computer system running Windows XP.
I realize it could be a router thing as well....but after i went through all the tech help i could find online it still did not solve the problem. I decided to work it out myself.
I found my solution when trying to go to sites with mp3 files on them. Thats when i discovered that with Windows Vista I had to manually select what program applications would be used to perform IE7 features (webpage content) in order for the pages to load properly.
To do this in Windows Vista - just go to Start / Program Defaults / Set Program Access and defaults From there you can select which programs to open if IE7 cant handle the file extention on its on. That was my problem all along.
You may have to go as far as setting your file associations in Windows Explorer. Windows Vista had set the file extension .php to open with Windows Photo Gallery.
I am still going through all the file types and finding file extentions that are configured wrong within Windows Vista.
UPDATE: I had problems opening webpages from links from online searches that were within various forums and also on websites that required a login but popup a separate window to login to. I don't know if you have the same problem with these sites.
I uninstalled a Windows Update (kb927143) and can now access those. I know this could be risky but I still have my firewall and antivirus running. Until IE7 is fixed its the only choice I have.
To do this in Vista....go to Control Panel ... Programs and Features...then click view installed updates. You will find it there if you have it installed. From there you can uninstall it.
Hope this helps you to solve your problem.

"Internet Explorer Cannot Display the web Page
on August 7th
I purchased a brand new computer that has
Vista Home premium on it,
To date I have not been unable to open this program.
I have been looking for help ever since,
I have been all over the net, I have tried
Lenovo sites.
I tried to call Lenovo, unfortunately I got no help there,
as I am deaf.
I looked through this site, in the hope that someone
who might have experienced this can help.
The Welcome center comes up when I start the Computer.
when I click on Internet explorer this is what I get.
Internet Explorer Cannot Display the web Page"
Most likely Causes:
*You are not connected to the Internet.
* The web site is encountering problems.
* There might be a typing error in the address.
"What can you try"
'Diagnose Connection Problems"
I did this and this is what I got.
Windows did not find any problems with this
Computer's network connection.
I tried more suggestions, and got more of the same.
I tried everything that looks promising, to no avail;
Please help if you can, it would be much appreciated;

Lenovo 3000 H210 53552p desktop
Vista home Priemium 64Victoria,
There are a few reasons that the error may come up. The first thing that I need to ask is when you say "I have been all over the net, I have tried Lenovo sites.', is this on the new computer? (i.e.. You are able to browse the internet, but get the error every time you initially launch Internet Explorer)
If so, the likely issue is that the particular web site that your home page is set too is invalid or is encountering problems.

I can't change my Desktop Background anymore, Used The Diptic app to create a collage and now i cannot change my desktop picture, on Mac Book pro
You can't go to System Preferences>Desktop&Screen Savers and change the display? Try it and see. I've never seen that problem.

I recently ran adaware to remove spyware. I now cannot reset my desktop display. When I open properties and click on the desktop tap the part that lets you choose a picture is frozen, though I can change the color. Is there a setting somewhere else that controls this?
Hi Dave,
How is everything going on?
In addition providing article link which might helpful to get some guide for your case. Please refer beneath article.

For some reason, I cannot change my desktop background no matter how many times I delete the "active" folder. It's as if it's locked. Any ideas how I can fix it?
Yes it sounds like you have a corrupted preference file.
The setting you make in individual programs get saved to a Preference file in your Users/Library/Preferences folder.
All you have to do is drag out the old file to the desktop, reboot and load the program and the preference file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
For your case I beleive the preference file is

Cannot display square root symbol in cvi
I don't understand why this would be an issue, but if I'm writing in the source window (with the default font of NIEditor), I cannot display a square root symbol "√" - every time I type alt+251, I get "v". Ok, not a huge deal in the source window, but it is a big deal if THAT is what's being stored in a string variable I'm writing out to a file. Additionally, if I use the following to format a string:
"Fmt(setpointUOM, "%s<W%cT/P3", 251);", then setpointUOM = "WüT/P3". If I display this variable in a string control, it displays as "W√T/P3", which is correct, but if I use it in a Text Box or save it to a sql database, it displays "WüT/P3" which is unacceptable.
I've tried changing the fonts but nothing works or I get even stranger results. I've been dealing with/ignoring this since CVI7 and I'm currently at CVI10. Thanks for any help.
Solved!
Go to Solution. The difference in the display between W√T/P3 and WüT/P3 has to do with the character set that you select for the UI control. From what I can tell, only the OEM code pages map the √ symbol to character 251, so if you want to see √ for that character, you should pick the OEM character set, in that control.
Entering √ with the keyboard in a CVI window seems like a much more problematic task. When you type Alt+251 on a CVI window, the keyboard driver is converting the 251 to 118 (the letter v). I don't know why it does that, but I noticed that the code that it converts 251 to varies, depending on your input language (which you can change in Control Panel>>Region and Language>>Change keyboards or other input methods). When english is selected in the language bar, it converts it to 118. With other languages, it converts it to other codes. I tried entering the unicode value for √ directly, which is Alt+221A (to enter unicode characters using the keypad, you have to follow the steps described here). But it didn't work. It still converted it to 118. I suspect the keyboard driver is doing this because it tries to map 221A to some symbol that is valid in the code page that corresponds to the input language, isn't able to, and picks what it thinks is the closest match.
In lots of other applications (but not all) you can type Alt+251 or Alt+221A and it works just fine. This is because those applications accept unicode characters directly. Unfortunately, CVI isn't one of them. It uses code pages (a.k.a. character sets, or multibyte sequences) instead of unicode, and symbols don't have a universal meaning; they depend on the code page.
Even if all this were not an impediment, you'd still run into the problem that in CVI 2010 you cannot change the font of the CVI source window to use an OEM character set. So, you'd still see it displayed as a v or a ü. In CVI 2012 you can change the change it, and so if you were using CVI 2012 you could conceivably use the clipboard to paste the √, but there is a bug in CVI that is preventing OEM characters from being pasted correctly (I realize the description says that it affects tree tooltips, but it's also generally affecting clipboard operations of some less commonly used character sets).
So, to make a long story short, I think you should continue entering the code directly with the Fmt function, at least until this bug is fixed. And make sure that all UI controls that need to display this string are using the OEM character set.

Hi, guys
I cannot view delegate mailbox in Outlook. Following is my configure.
I have two mailbox A-User and B-User
Login Outlook as A-User, click File -> Account Settings -> Delegate Access, add B-User and give Editor permission of Inbox.
Right click A-User's root inbox and select Properties -> Permission, select B-User and check "Folder visible".
Login Outlook as B-User on other computer, click File -> Account Settings -> Account Settings, select B-User and click Change -> More Settings -> Advanced, add A-User.
Now I can see a root A-User in Navigation Pane. But when I click it, it shows
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location."
or
"Cannot display the folder. Microsoft Outlook cannot access the specified folder location. The operation failed. An object cannot be found".
I searched some solutions from internet, but all of them don't work. Could you give some suggestions?
Thanks.Hi,
First, please double check if you have given the right permission to B-User on your step 2.
In addition, we can try to give a higher permission to the B-user to check the result.
Please feel free to post back and let me know the result.

Cannot use Remote Desktop host on Windows 8.1 Pro, termsrv corrupted?
Hello,
Few days ago I upgraded my home desktop machine from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Professional so I can use the Remote Desktop feature.
I enabled everything needed, checked "Allow computers to connect to this computer" from the Remote Settings, forwarded the port 3389 in my rounter and allowed it in my firewall etc...
But I still can't connect to this computer from outside my home network or inside it. The error I get trying to connect is this:
(For some reason i still can't post images in this forum...) So I posted a link below to my original thread with the images
I'm trying to connect using a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium.
After searching around I found out that the service responsible for the RDP is called "TermService", I found it on my services but was unable to start it:
(For some reason i still can't post images in this forum...) So I posted a link below to my original thread with the images
Also, notice the description of the service. So I tried to run a System File Checker on the service's DLL (sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\termsrv.dll) and got this log:

Since it's the first time I use this tool I'm not familiar with this log file, but what I managed to figure out from it is that termsrv.dll is corrupted and windows cannot repair it for some reason.
My question is:
How can I repair this file? Is this even the problem preventing me from connecting to this computer via Remote Desktop?
Here's a link to my original question which contatining the images.
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-system/cannot-use-remote-desktop-host-on-windows-81-pro/e4776239-4d9e-4934-ae2d-b87cc09f7ademanaged to figure out from it is that termsrv.dll is corrupted and windows cannot repair it for some reason.
So, the next step supposedly is
using DISM.
Coincidentally I reached that page last night from
this one, which I thought gave me a better awareness of how much manual repair might be possible. E.g. maybe the WinSxS isn't quite as fragile as we are being led to believe? (It's making me feel sort of like how I used to feel about the
registry when seeing all the caveats about using RegEdit before I got used to that tool.)
Advanced guidelines for diagnosing and fixing servicing corruption

Something else that I became aware of yesterday serendipitously is SxStrace.exe. I have never seen it used but it sounds useful. E.g. perhaps easier to interpret for supplemental clues than the ProcMon trace that I usually advocate.
Or perhaps use both and see in ProcMon when the SxStrace is writing. E.g. filter with Operation Is WriteFile.
However, what I would do first is find out what the state of your system is regarding that module. E.g. try this Powershell pipeline to list what you have.
PS C:\windows> dir -R -Fil "termsrv.dll" | sort-object FullName | ft Length, FullName -AutoSize
Note that I am giving you the whole command line, including prompt to show where the command should be started from.
C.f. another thread where doing the same diagnostic procedure seems to be finding more a problem with the Windows Update software than with the user's WinSxS cache.
