Using Firefox 1.5, .pdf files automatically download to my desktop. With Firefox 3.6.13 a new tab/window opens and a box where the document should appear remains blank. When I attempt to 'right' click on the link, it doesn't allow me to download the linked file, only the linked address. I am able to open the .pdf files using another web browser such as Sarfari

HT1750 unable to download pdf files with the new lion instillation

I am unable to download pdf files after installing lion.

I have an imac purchased 4/2010 and same thing happened to me but can't find anyone to address it. The real tragedy here is that I paid for the full adobe creative suite, web premium back in 2010 and Adobe Pro can't open them, although it worked just fine before. Then I installed the latest version of Adobe reader and tried changing that to my default and that doesn't work either.
It's pretty lame that I have to go on my boyfriends windows pc to open and print a .pdf as the only alternative. I did not read about this when researching whether or not to upgrade to lion from snow leopard otherwise I would not have kept the old operating system.
Why isn't apple addressing this???

On the back button is the little drop down arrow completely gone, or is there a way I can I get it back. With the new Firefox I have to keep hitting back over and over again?

Maybe it didn't install correctly, I have Windows XP if that makes a difference. I know from the tour when the new one loaded there is supposed to be a bookmarks thing next to the new location for home but it's not on there either. It's still on my toolbar so I don't care enough to fix it so there is no need for anyone to address it, I just put the info in case it tells you something about it not installing properly.
Sorry, it's not easy for older people to keep up with all the daily website changes, adding browser changes adds to the confusion. I hope my head doesn't explode one day. Thank you for the help.

You can get the drop down list by either right-clicking on the back/forward buttons, or holding down the left button until the list appears.

The songs that you want to sync need to be on the "local" storage of the computer being used to sync the iPod.

I have read that this can fix that issue. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Cannot read version 4 fcp project and associated files with the new 5.1.2

I cannot read my fcp 4 version projects and associated files with the new 5.1.2 fcp.
Please help!

I bought the Final Cut 5 studio to use for my company but I have project files from version 4, which I would like to update. My G5 is running Tiger and Final Cut recognizes the old files as Final Cut Documents (the media is already on the G5) but will not open them or their associated quicktime files. I have no problem loading version4 to export the Masters but I would like to be able to upgrade the project files so that I can use them in my addition Studio Pro applications and touch them up in Shake. Also, I don't want to go and find FCP4 on the internet because it may have other problems.
What do you suggest?
Can FCP4 files be updated to version 5.1.2?
Can I get a back dated version of FCP4 through Apple?

Before you make an apple ID with the new email, go to appleid.apple.com. login with your old email and password. change your old email to your new one. I really wish internet providers wouldn't change things so much that your current software can't keep up. Black's Law Dictionary is the only authoritative source for legal terms and it's not free or on a website. The digital version (the only way to keep from carrying around a 5 lb book) is an add-on feature that previously worked with Firefox. It's supposed to work with all browsers, but the browsers have all been changing so much. If I would have known that my blacks-law plug in would be disabled until Firefox becomes compatible again, I would have never upgraded. Tell me how to go back to my old version, so I can finish my research in peace, until you guys get serious about making products that work for people BEFORE you release them.

You really need to contact the developer of that Burke's Law add-on and find out why they can't keep that add-on up-to-date with the new Firefox versions. IMO, if they are using a web browser as the interface for their product and are charging you for that service, they have an obligation to their customer's to keep their stuff fixed for the 2nd most used browser in the world.

What type of troubleshooting were we able to do with you? I want to make sure that we can get some sort of resolution for this problem.
It is quite possible the battery door may get your phone in working order again. I'm not sure if the store has it in stock, but it is available in our warehouse for $14.99 which can be ordered via customer service.
