I cannot download Camera Raw version 5.6 for Photoshop Elements 7

Using the help for Photoshop Elements 7, I want to download Camera Raw v. 5.6 but the link for downloading don't work (broken link).

Are you sure it's not 5.5? http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=40&platform=Windows
You can get it here:

70D support requires ACR 8.2 or newer, which requires an upgrade to PSE.
I’d suggest doing a trial of PSE13 to make sure it works on your computer:

  • Is Camera RAW 8.6 embedded in Photoshop Elements 13?

Is Camera RAW 8.6 embedded in Photoshop Elements 13?  This version of Camera RAW is necessary to open RAW (NEF) files from the Nikon D750 DSLR.

You might need to update it by going to:
    Help >> Updates
Have you tried installing the trial version to see if it works on your system?  It is a good idea to try it first and then when you like it, you can buy the boxed version from Amazon and use the serial number from the box to activate your trial version that you have installed.  There is no need to install again if the trial version is already on your system
    The latest version is 8.7
    Good luck.

  • Cannot Install the Raw 7.3 update for Premiere Elements 11 and photoshop Elements

I get an error message when I try to update the  Raw 7.3 update for Premiere Elements 11 and photoshop Elements. It says to run support adviser which I did, but it says that it could not detect any problems.
    Thanks,
    Ron

The next step will be to review the installation logs for the cause of the installation failure.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Download Camera Raw 8.3 update for my Photoshop CS6-How do I do it?  I cannot find this option anywhere on the download sights for Adobe PS.  Please help with specific instructions.  Thanks

I cannot find anywhere on the Adobe sights the specific page where I can download Photoshop CS6 Camera Raw Update to 8.4 or 8.4 to support Lightroom 5 and my new Sony a7r camera.  Please help.  I am a tech novice.  Thanks.

    Rodger,
Thank you for your gracious welcome . . .
and thank you for your swift response . . .
and thank you for your information (and encouragement!).
Yes, I read that too, but searched in vain for the specifity of, say, your direction:
"Go ahead and update to 8.0.2, as it contains the 8.0.1 update."
    So I shall!
    Again, many thanks.

  • Cannot Update Camera Raw to 8.3 in Photoshop CC Education Package

I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has experienced the same issues as me. I need to install the latest update for Camera Raw 8.3 and am having no luck. When logged into the creative cloud application, it shows me that Photoshop is up to date (screenshot 01). After checking About Plug-in . Camera Raw, I can see that I am running version 8.2.0.94 so I tried updating directly from the help menu in Photoshop CC (screenshot 02) and the option is not available. Last, but not least I was able to find the standalone download for both camera raw 8.3 and the beta version of 8.4 but both will not install, giving me an error that the administrator has suppressed updates (screenshot 03) which is not true as I am the admin.
Can someone please help me with this asap? I need to install this as soon as possible as we have upwards of 30 students using the Nikon D610 and unfortunately we cannot open any of the .NEF into Photoshop. If there is any other relevant information you think I did not provide, please let me know and will try to get this info updated.
Thank you and hopefully there is a solution out there.
    John

I guess that I should add that I am also an individual CC member at home and do not have the same issues there. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I feel like this is isolated more to team, educational, or enterprise users.

See if the suggestions, here, help, although this was back with CS6-cloud, not CC, so may not apply 100%:

I'd suggest that rather than deleting the file, you move it out of the folder to somewhere else, in case things get worse and you need to put it back.
I found this by Googling the error message.
If you can't figure it out, you might post in the "Downloading, Installing and Set Up" or "Adobe Creative Cloud" forums  since it seems to be related to the Cloud updates, and not necessarily ACR plug-in functionality, and I've seen India support people actually tackle problems posted there, which rarely happens in the ACR forum, although an ACR engineer may sometimes pop in to answer questions, they'd be less likely to know how to fix deployment issues.

  • With CS5, I am unabe to download Camera Raw 7.1 needed for my Canon 650D (Rebel T41).  Is there a way to accomplish that?

Is it true that Camera Raw 7.1 and higher versions are only compatible with CC, not with CS 5?

No.  You will never be able to convert raw files from that camera directly in CS5.
ACR 7.x requires CS6 to run.
You have two choices: either upgrade, or go the DNG Converter route, whch means downloading the free, stand-alone application Adobe DNG Converter 8.7.1, install it and launch it to run it on every single batch of raw image files to convert them into raw DNGs that you can open in CS5.

  • Is camera raw version 6.5 in photoshop eleements 9 compatible with camera raw 6.7 in lightroom 4?

Can I edit my camera raw photos in bothe photoshop elements 9 and lightroom 4?

If you select a thumbnail in the Lightrom library and press Ctrl+E it should open for editing in Elements. However you are editing an exported copy (either PSD or tiff) with Lightroom develop settings.
Lightroom 4 has a more advanced raw engine (ACR 7.2) so you would not want to edit raw files directly in Elements unless you wish to use process version 2010 rather than process version 2012. See screen shot for the slider differences.

  • Camera Raw.plugin location on Mac, Photoshop Elements 6

(Regarding Photoshop Elements 6) Adobe's updater cannot find the Camera Raw plugin to update to 4.4.1, so I downloaded it manually. The problem is trying to find the old plugin so I can replace it. If I follow the info in the Read Me for this update, it says to put it in:
    ~/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats
This folder did not exist, so I created Plug-Ins, CS3 and File Formats. Didn't work.
I went to the Photoshop Elements 6 folder, and there found
    Plug-Ins/FileFormats
(no space between "File" and "Formats"). I put the new Camera Raw.plugin there (no old one there), and now Elements, in its "About Plug-In" drop down menu lists TWO Camera Raw plugins, version 4.3.1 and the 4.4.1 I just put there.
Where the heck is the 4.3.1 file so I can get rid of it?? Searching with the Finder and Spotlight only reveals the 4.4.1 file.

Camera Raw location on a Mac:-
    Hard Drive/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/File Format/CS6
    or
    Hard Drive/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/File Format/CS5
    or
    Hard Drive/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/File Format/Elements
NOT within the User section at all!
and if you update one Camera Raw you can, of course, copy and paste to alternative versions of Adobe products (as if, for example, you have both CS6 & CS5, or Elements)

  • Is Camera Raw 7.3 available for Photoshop CS6?

I have Lightroom 4.3 and it keeps asking for Camera Raw 7.3 when I want to edit photos in Photoshop CS6 from LR. My understanding of the Adobe support site is that Camera Raw 7.3 is only available via the Update function in Photoshop. I updated Photoshop but LR still asks for Camera Raw 7.3 and Photoshop still shows Camera Raw 7.2 as the installed version (under System info) and the Update function says Photoshop is up to date...how do I fix this?
There doesn't seem to be an easy way round this problem. How can I download a discrete CR 7.3 executable? My OS is Windows 8.

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I can only assume you have Windows 7. My Windows 8 screens look like this...and Photoshop System Info the last image. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

  • Does Camera Raw 6.3 work with Photoshop Elements 8

    It looks like I can't
update Camera Raw to 6.3. since I use PSE8..is that true? I only update PSE every two
editions, but have both a Canon 550D and a new Powershot S95. Any advice?

    Yes that's true, 6.3 won't work with pse8.
You can use the 6.3 dng converter to convert your camera raw files to
the dng format which pse8 can then open.

  • Cannot find site to get Serial Number for Photoshop Elements-urchased from Best Buy

I purchased Photoshop Elements 10 from Best Buy last night. I am trying to access the serial number to activate it, but the site that the label tells you to go to and enter your redemption code is not working. Anyone know how to help?
    Thanks!

Either wait a while and try the site again, or contact Adobe:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/
Since it's the long holiday weekend, you might have to wait until Tuesday for Adobe support to be available.
You should be able to use PSE10 as a trial version until you get a serial number.

having some major problems, just bought  a D800, upgraded my pc with a 64 bit os and more ram, re-installed all my programs and cant open my files in PSE, its saying its the wrong files type, go to update pse10 and im getting an error cose u41m1c212, have downloaded a dng converter and trying to download acr 6.7.1 ...help !!!
Message title was edited by: Brett N

You need DNG Converter 6.7 or later, but download DNG Converter 7.4 (or 8.1).
    You need ACR 6.7
When you convert the NEF raw files using the DNG Converter 6.7 or later, then PSE 10 will recognize them.

  • Help with downloading camera raw 8

Where do I find the webpage to download camera raw version 8?

Do you have PSE 12? Then just go to Help>Updates in the editor.

  • When will Camera Raw support .arw files for the new Sony RX-100?

I have Photoshop Elements 9 and just purchased the RX-100. Currently the .arw raw files the camera produces are not supported in Camera Raw. When will Adobe be supporting this format?

No one can tell you when, but the new RX100 has support in the beta of Camera Raw 7.2 RC for Photoshop CS6 so I would guess that PSE11 will either ship with or could soon after be updated to ACR 7.2 with RX100 support.
PSE10 is the current version, but in the past, a new version of Elements has come out about this time of year so sometime in the next couple months.
What you can do right now is download the beta of the DNG Converter 7.2 RC from Adobe Labs which will convert a folder of ARW files to DNG files which can then be processed with older versions of Camera Raw including what comes with PSE10 or PSE9.
You could also download and use the beta for Lightroom 4.2 RC from on Adobe Labs to work with your files natively until the beta expires by the end of October, but before then you’d probably have a new version of Elements that would work.  If you go the LR 4.2 RC route, you’d want to save your changes to XMP sidecars in LR so you could read them using ACR in Elements, later.
    Betas/RCs are available at: http://labs.adobe.com/
