I cannot download from iTunes to iPod

For days I have been trying to download from iTunes to my new iPod, but my iPod never shows up in the source list in iTunes. I had to reinstall iTunes because it was not working properly and now it works just fine, but the iPod is not listed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iPod hardware more than a dozen times over the last two days, I have followed all the instructions I could find online for fixing computer problems, and I still cannot get it to work. If anyone has any ideas, please..I'll try anything.

Your not alone, I am having the very same difficulties and have re-installed, re-set etc etc many times. I also spent an hour on the phone to Apple who could not resolve my problem, and the store I purchased it from is just a retailer and cannot help either. It may be something on my computer doing some corrupting - but I just don't know! I am virtually at the end without a clue what to do next except take it back and forget about owning an iPod

  • Music wont download from iTunes to iPod

iPod has been reset twice and still the music will not download from iTunes to the iPod without freezing iTunes. Music starts to download one or two songs and then software stalls. I need to force quit iTunes many times in order to make the program quit. iPod downloads from other Macs OK.
tried to download new iTunes and it wouldnt let me as it is same version software.
    Anyone had any similar problems?

I've been having exactly the same problems...both iTunes and iPod freeze in the middle of updating: I've done numerous restores of iPod, and have the latest iTunes and iPod software.
Because it's out of warranty, the online repair service calculate a repair at 260 euros (a lot of money in anyone's currency).
Is this time to get a new iPod, or is there something else to be done, that I haven't tried?

  • Can't transfer video download from itunes to ipod

I downloaded a m4v file from itunes I cannot view video in itunes and cannot transfer file to my 5th gen ipod. When I update my ipod it tell me it won't transfer the file 'because it cannot be played on this ipod' but no problems with transfering music.
Just want to know if this is fault of mine or Apples and what I can do to rectify it.
    Any help is appreciated.

Don't know if this will help, first off did iTunes Bill you for the download? If not try going to the Store tab in iTunes and check for purchases! possibly the file did not completly download or was corrupted!

  • Very slow download from iTunes to iPod

    Hi,
It takes about 2 minutes to download a cd from iTunes (4.7.1) to my iPod click wheel. Software is updated (3.1.1). I tried to restore the iPod, reinstall iTunes, but nothing seems to work. I use firewire. If I transfer the whole library, it eventually stops after a while. My other iPod (dock connector) works fine. The click wheel one used to work fine until I updated Mac OS (10.2.8) and reinstalled everything.
    Help!!!
    G4   Mac OS X (10.2.x)

Play the song on iTunes for a few seconds while connected to the Internet and enter your account details when prompted; this will complete the authorization process and enable you to transfer the song to your iPod.

  • Two iphones one cannot download from itunes?

My husband has recently got an iphone and has registered an account with itunes. The problem is that my account is stopping him downloading or purchasing from itunes on the pc and on the iphone.I go into his itunes account on the pc and download to his iphone, it looks as if it is working, but fails at the end. On his iphone he asks to purchase, but gets my user id from the itunes store, but if he enters my password it again fails.
I feel that we're doing or not doing something really simple - but don't know what.

Thanks for the reply - neither of us had thought of doing that. We like some music the same, but not everything, so thought it best to keep the accounts separate.
I've had a good read of a lot of similar questions and have worked out with all the help there what we were doing wrong. It's all working OK now thanks.

  • HT1527 Cannot download from itunes store because store thinks i don't have 10.6.1

I get this error saying i cannot download the requested item because i don't have itunes 10.6.1. I do have - it is the 64 bit edition, windows home premium 64 is my OS. Appears store checks for 32 bit and ignores presence of 64 bit itunes.

However, I can no longer access the iTunes store as the PC just sits there in limbo.

  • Cannot download from iTunes store

Due to a severe crash that affected my computer and TM back-up I lost all my music. The iTunes music store was so kind to give me the possibility to re-download all my purchases.
But when I click 'store -> check for available downloads' iTunes asks for my password and starts spinning for a while and then I get a message that either there is an error in the Store and the connection got lost, or I get the message that the store is unavailable at the moment and I should try later.
I can see when I clcik the download pane (in the short time it shows during the 'spinning') that there are 766 items waiting to be downloaded, but I cannot connect to them. I tried this with several computers (running OS 10.6 and 10.7 and Windows), latest iTunes software, even diiferent locations (different internet connections). All the same. It looks like something is blocking this amount of downloads and resulting in a timeout. Even new purchases will be blocked from downloading (there is one purchase 'pre-ordered' among the downloads that I never downloaded yet, but I have paid for).
The iTunes support that were initially very helpfull has given up on my problem. So I got stuck now with a blocked, and therefore useless account and still '766 items to download'
    Anyone any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Jos

  • Not downloading from itunes to ipod

itunes would appear to have downloaded but cannot locate in ipod

If you use automatic syncing, you need to set up the iPod's Music tab.  Select the iPod in iTunes.  Toward the top of the iTunes window is a row of "tabs" (or buttons) that starts with Summary.  Click on Music there.
This is where you tell iTunes how to sync music to your iPod.  Make sure Sync Music is checked.  Below that, set up the Music tab as desired. If you added new songs to your iTunes library, those songs must be included in your selection on the Music tab, or they will not sync to your iPod.
If you've done the above and the problem is something else, please post back.

  • Cannot download from ITunes to SLVR

I am having some difficulty downloading music onto my L7 cell phone, which came with I-Tunes. I have loaded other MP3 files onto my phone memory card from other sources with no problems, but when I attempt to download song files stored in my I-Tunes library, I see this message: "The mobile phone cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to."
When the devices are connected by the USB, they recognize each other and a phone card update proceeds without problems. I can readily view my phone's memory card on my computer desktop, so the problem seems specific to ITunes.
The computer is a brand new Dell Dimesion 4700 desktop, Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM, running Windows XP, SP2. No active acceleration, antivirus, or firewall software is being used on my computer when I attempt these actions.
I have the latest version of Itunes and have re-installed it a few times and rebooted as well. ITunes works well on the computer except for this problem.
I'm puzzled and open to suggestions...

Yes, sorry I thought I had mentioned that I have already tried that. I am able to move files easily from the phone card to the computer and back, but when I move AAC music files, the iTunes program on the phone will still not recognize them, so I think they must be loaded through the iTunes program to work.
And yes, I have some friends who will let me try this on a MacIntosh later this week. My pet theory has been that this is because I am running Windows XP Home and that it will work on XP Professional, but I was unnerved by a technician's report that another customer had the same problem as I using a Mac.
All three (Motorola, Cingular, Apple) have advised me to trade this in for a new phone. However, anecdotes suggest this does not resolve the problem.

  • Cannot download from iTunes Match

I have a smart playlist that displays all the tracks I have locally that are Matched with iTM, but are a lesser bit-rate than their 256kbs. Every so often i go through the tracks I have that are in this playlist, delete them locally and then re-download them at the higher bit-rate.
That bit of my problematic relationship with ITM has always worked fine, however earlier today I deleted 2 tracks and moved them to the trash. They are now sitting in my iTunes, the cloud symbol with the download arrow is displayed as you would expect but both are greyed out. I thus cannot play them or re-download them.
I have run iTunes Match and re-booted but no change.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    C.

Just to mention that I can download both tracks as normal via iTM on my iPad. The problem lies with my main iTunes library on my Mac.
