I cannot download iTunes 11 to my macbook. What am I doing wrong?

I have downloaded iTunes 11 twice to my macbook. It says it succesfully has loaded but when I open iTunes it is still iTunes 10. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Well I think I have...I went to itunes...pressed the download button...it downloaded to my computer...I clicked on the download to install...it asked me where to install it & I clicked my harddrive....it continued to install and when it was done, the computer said it installed successfully. I went to my itunes icon...clicked on it and when I opened it and checked it still says I have itunes 10...I have upgraded all my itunes this way but before the computer has always told me there was an upgrade available to download....this time I had to go to Apple to find it. Any suggestions?

Which exact model iPad? It would almost certainly state system requirements on the packaging.

Is this audiobook configured to sync to your iPod via it's Books configuration pane in iTunes? Click on your iPod's device name under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the Summary tab. Look for the Books tab along the top and click on it.

Sorry, Mac OSX 10.1.3 is too old (from 2002) for any version of Firefox made in the last 5 or 6 years.
Are you sure that isn't 10.3.1? If so, Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version of Firefox that will work.

Thanks. That was indeed the problem. A few hints for others with this problem. You can only find out that you need to upgrade, and upgrade, by cabling your iPad to your computer. Then the next Tricky part is making sure you have your iPad purchases saved on your computer. Then you download the new OS upgrade and you will get a "start up" type of screen on your iPad with a few questions. Nowhere is there a very good explanation that you want to then go back to your computer and restore your iPad. I finally did that because there were no other obvious alternatives, though all the warnings made me very nervous. After the restore command, I synched my iPad and I seem to have everything back, and I can now access iCloud. maybe I missed some instructions somewhere, but I found this process much more obscure than the usual Apple directions. Thanks for your help!

Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

No, not on the File menu. Click on the Device that shows up when connected:

If you do not use the Sidebar, when the iPod is connected to iTunes, you should see this icon appear to the left of the iTunes Store button:
Click on the ringed icon (but not on the "eject" part of it!).
Or
If you use the Sidebar, you will see the Device appear, as shown below:
Click on it.
Once you have clicked on the Device, you should see this (Summary) pane, with the word Summary darkened:
Click on Photos (as ringed above)...
Now you are on the Photos pane (notice Photos is now darkened), where there is a drop-down menu. It's that box that says "My Pictures", where you will find "Choose Folder". That option allows you to choose (as I did) "My Pictures".
Notice in the last screenshot that a message at the very top of the image states that the "iPod Sync is complete". Choosing the folder after the Sync has completed (or passed the "sync photos" section) simply means that it requires another Sync for that change to take effect.
That's it.
Now, whatever pictures you place in the chosen folder will be added to your iPod at the following Sync. Likewise, any pictures you remove from that folder will be removed from the iPod at the following Sync.
You only need to look on the Photos pane if you wish to change the folder option.

I searched the correct way to do this through GoDaddy, my hosting service and got these directions, which I have tried, but didn't work.
*To Set Up Apple Mail for SMTP Relay
1. From the Mail menu, click Preferences.

4. From the Account Type list, select POP.
5. In the Description field, type a name for the account.

Obviously, I'm connected to the internet...
I tried doing this through POP and IMAP, there is an error message saying unable to connect. What can be done to make this work?

the 3535 is not gonna work...the 110 will work...I have been dealing w/ godaddy.com .mac and mac support for 5 months with compatibility. It is the worst.. mac says they never heard of godaddy and godaddy had me run a trace route so then I had to deal w/ my isp for no good reason since other browsers could reach godaddy so it is not my stream.. It is the worst. These are suposed to be the easiest and most seemless systems and they cannot sync. I use firefox to get to go daddy on my macbook and it is as if I am using dial up. I am ready to just cancel .mac which is really another headache to learn..and godaddy and just move everything over to a company that can handle everything. My web business has been on hold since January. It makes no sense. I got the mac so I would not have to deal w/ the windows registry error answer.. now godaddy tells me they are built for windows.
There is no winning at this. I have spent countless hours on phone support after spending countless hours researching the answers only for all support lines to tell me i can "go to...website for more info..." it is as bad as using windows.

CD burning problem on MacBook - What am I doing wrong?

I've finally made the jump from PC to Mac but so far I seem to be falling over on some very basic steps! I'm trying to burn some photos onto a CD, which really should be very simple (I copied them from an external drive, not through iPhoto). If I've understood correctly I just need to copy the files to a burn folder and then click the burn button.
I've tried copying the files to a burn folder but when I click 'Burn' it doesn't appear to recognise that I have a blank CD in the drive. If I look in Disk Utility it shows that there is a disk there, but under 'Info' it shows:
Locked: YES
Writable: NO
If I use Disk Utility to create the image and then burn it, this seems to work and I can read the photos back off the disk. But it seems like there should be a much easier way. Can anyone point me in the right direction here please? As I'm sure I'm probably missing a very simple step.
Also, I have discs labelled as 700MB/80Min. Windows XP seems to be able to burn 702MB onto these, but OS X only 660MB. Is this normal?

Hi Mark,
Check System Preferences > CDs & DVDs. What does it say next to "When you insert a blank CD"? You may have allocated that blank CD to another application, like iTunes, based on this setting.
If you always do the same thing with blank optical media, this setting is convenient. But if you do different things at different times, the two questions about blank meda should be set to "ask what to do".

Did someone ever experience not being able to download photos to their iPad? Everything worked well when I was on a trip. Today, I tried to download photos and nothing happens. My camera seems to shut off. The only change I can see to my iPad is that I downloaded IOS 7 and I've recently purchased an iPhone 5s.
