I cannot e-mail microsoft word attachments with Windows Live mail
I receive error message - Logon failed, you must logon to Microsoft Exchange to access address book. Error Code: Unspecified error. Another message pops up: There is no e-mail program associated to perform the requested action. Please install
an e-mail program or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Program Control Panel.
My Windows Live mail is working - I receive messages and can send them but I cannot send Microsoft Office Word 2007 attachments which I could before. Yahoo mail sent a message to use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer and I tried it and then
uninstalled it and something apparently got messed up.
I recommend you post in a Windows Live Mail forum. This forum is for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.

HELP!!!! I have spent hours trying to find out how to embed an image with a link, or embed a Microsoft Word document with a hyperlink built within the document -- not as an attachment into my email -- but where it shows as the email content when opened! Does ANYONE know the secret? Can it be done, or not? My PC clients do it all the time easily. Then I want to be able to send the embedded image/document (not as an attachment, but visable within the email when opened) to many email contacts at once, BUT the individuals receiveing them DO NOT SEE the other email contacts. Cannot seem to be able to find anything on being able to do these 2 tasks.PLEASE, SOMEONE, HELP!!!
Don't know if this applies to Lion, but read here:

I have installed OS X Mountain LION on my MacBook Pro 13" and cannot open anymore Microsoft Word or Excel ? Could you help me with this problem? Thank you.

Why suggest "ignore iWork"? I use iWork exclusively now, since dumping MS Office and I like it.
On its own it's fine, as a replacement for Office it's mediocre. Unable to save in Office format you are pushed into exporting (extra steps) simply to create an Office compatible file. Pages barely renders a Word document correctly (a trait also shared by Libre/Open Office). Numbers is a very poor substitute for Excel (the free ones are better).
And for all this you are expected to pay, whereas the other alternatives do a better job (with MS Office files) without a financial insult.
If Office is not in the equation I recommend iWork. -

Convert 1 single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple pdf files
I am a windows 7 users. I have a single microsoft word document which contain 1500 pages. These 1500 pages are seperated by sections breaks in the microsoft word. I am trying to convert this word document to multiple pdf files seperated by the section breaks in the Microsoft word. How can I convert the single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple seperate pdf files?
Acrobat (Adobe PDF Printer and PDFMaker ) doesn't recognize the Section breaks. It never has as far as I am aware. The easiest thing to do is to manually break up a copy of the MS Word Document into the Sections you need and then create the PDFs from those MS Word documents.

Push Microsoft Word settings with ARD
Can someone tell me how to push Microsoft Word settings with ARD?
Basically I have been tasked with figuring out how to default save as .docx in Office 2008 and Office 2011.
I have 50+ users and I'd like to be able to push this settings change using ARD.
Any help is greatly appreciated. If anyone comes across this thread looking for an answer, here it is.
Basically what I was told:
That particular setting is stored in the following file:
/Users/USER_NAME/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.Word.plist [likewise for PowerPoint and Excel]
However, be aware that you'd also be replacing several customizations that they may have, as well as other parameters (like last folder used). Perhaps it would be better to access each machine, load up Word and set whatever setting you want through the Screen Sharing feature. -

On iPad can I open a Microsoft word file with apple pages app?
On iPad, can I open a Microsoft word file with apple pages application? If so how do I perform this activity?
Yes you can open Word files. If it is an email attachment you can simply tap and hold down on the icon and select "open in" and then select Pages - as long as you have the Pages app on the iPad.
Where is the file on your iPad or how do you want to move it to the iPad? -
I'm running OSX 10.8.5 Mountain Lion. What version of QuarkXpress and Microsoft Word run with this level? My older versions are no longer supported.
Hi Jrehoboth,
please see here: http://forums.quark.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=4608
At the bottom of the post we summarized which version you can run on each version of OS X:
So if your operating system is OS X Mountain Lion (10.8) then you can use QuarkXPress 9 & QuarkXPress 10 and soon QuarkXPress 2015.
Thanks

FIOS Email: Doesn't work with Windows Live Mail?
I have follow the instructions posted in mid April 2015 for changing the email settings and they do not work at all with Windows Live Mail.
Unable to send or receive messages for the Verizon (text deleted by me) account. An incorrect password was entered. The next time you send or receive messages, you'll be asked to enter your user name and password for this account.
Server Error: 0x800CCC90
Server Response: -ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed
Server: 'pop.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC92
Protocol: POP3
Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes
I am using the exact same identical password I used successfully to access webmail. I confirmed the port settings of 995 (incoming) and 465 (outgoing) are being used in the set up. I noticed various versions of Outlook (Express, 2010, etc) have instructions posted here but not Windows Live Mail. Do the new settings not work on the client?Update: I did find the instructions posted at http://www.verizon.com/Support/Residential/Announcements/general-announcements01.htm?CMP=EMC-CVZ_ZZ_... and they DO NOT WORK
Followed them to the letter step by step and still cannot access when using Webmail. Here is the response:

Contacts Sync with Windows Live Mail 2011
I'm using Windows 7 with the Windows Live Mail 2011 desktop application for email and contacts. Is it possible to sync the contacts in my Windows Live Mail 2011 application with my iPhone (iOS v4) using iTunes?
In Windows Vista, I used Windows Mail which stored contacts data in the Contacts folder within my profile (c:\users\username\contacts). These contacts did sync with my iPhone without any problems. Windows 7 doesn't have an email application built-in so, I'm using Windows Live Mail 2011. Windows Live Mail 2011 doesn't store contacts in the Contacts folder within my profile though. Is there anyway to sync my iPhone with my Windows Live Mail 2011 contacts?
Thanks,
MattFound this with a quick Google search:
To sync contacts with your computer, choose Sync Contacts on your Windows-based PC, or Sync Contacts with Address Book on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
* Microsoft Outlook 2003 or Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
* Windows Address Book (Windows XP and Windows Vista)
* Address Book (Mac OS X v10.4.11 or later)
* Microsoft Entourage 2004 or Microsoft Entourage 2008
So it looks like the answer is no, you can't sync your contacts with Windows Live Mail 2011. -
