Just do the following this seemed to work for me.
1. Settings
2. Select icloud
3. Turn contacts on
4. Come out of that and check for the add sign at the top right-hand corner of your contacs window
5. Go back into Settings, Icloud and switch it back off and select keep contacts
6. Voila your edit button should have stayed in the contact window

After I edited my contact list on my iphone I set up the icloud account. Now all of my old contacts have been added to the edited ones. If I delete the icould will I lose all of my contacts or just the ones brought in by icloud?

You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can just stop using it. If your photos are still on your phone now, then I suggest you do back them up. Transfer them from the phone into your iPhoto Library. iCloud only backs up your Camera Roll automatically. But the Camera Roll only contains new photos that were taken but not yet transferred using iTunes.

I even try to upgrade to the newest version. IOS 5.0.1. but still the same..My main problem is my contacts. I dont have "+" add contact button and inside each contact.. I dont have the "edit" button..

So when you edit in iCloud you are not seeing an update on your iphone?. I just did a test in iCloud.com and it changed my iPhone contact list in less than 1 second. So iCloud is functioning fine.
If you delete all the contacts on your iPhone and if you are properly synced they will all be wiped out on iCloud.....ugh! So let's not do that...
Your plan should be to make all the changes in iCloud and have them flow down to your iPhone. That sounds what you are trying to do anyway.
So. if you delete a contact in iCloud or edit a contact in iCloud then you are not seeing the changes on your iPhone?
If so then they are not properly synced..... but I wonder how you have any contacts in iCloud.
Let me know if you are seeing any changes, if mot then we can review the syncing set-up.

How do I edit Group Contacts categories on IOS 7.1?

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars> make sure that for all the accounts listed the contacts are ON.

I cannot view my contact list via Backup Assistant Plus

I go to My Verizon, More Actions, Manage My Contacts. After doing so, up comes a dialogue box which welcomes me to Backup Assistant Plus. It has an option to add one or more email accts. I choose Windows Live Hotmail and enter my email address and password. After doing so, I receive an error message which reads, "Failed to add endpoint due to the following reason: Missing Device Name. Please try again." I am entering the correct email address and password but to no avail. As a result, it is impossible for me to see the contact list within Backup Assistant Plus. Has anyone else noted this behavior? Thanks in advance.

Thanks but I cannot seem to follow the instructions. I cannot see the Content Management selection you mention. It seems that I already have BAckup Assistant Plus on my acct. as I can go to that option on my phone and it tells me that the most recent backup was successful. I can't see these contacts online however. To review, I choose More Actions - Manage My Contacts - Welcome to Backup Assistant Plus - At that point, a box comes up asking me to add one or more email accts. This has become very frustrating as my calls to Verizon have not helped. However, it is reassuring to know that my contacts are indeed being backed up through my Microsoft Outlook acct. and can be retrieved from there should need be.
Nevertheless, I would sure like to be able to see and manage these contacts on Backup Assistant Plus online. Thanks for your help.

E71 Cannot dial from Contacts List

With my E71 phone I cannot dial numbers directly from my Contacts List. I have to write number down then manually dial. What have I set wrongly? How can I correct this?

I found the answer myself. Just switch the phone off and on again to make it re-boot. Frustrating but just like a computer! or maybe it was taking it 30,000 feet into the air that cured it!!

How do you backup your contacts? If via Backup Assistant, you can edit them via your on-line MyVerizon account. If via g-mail, you could edit them via your gmail account.

Cannot delete gmail contact list

i am having problems syncing my verizon/yahoo account back to outlook on the computer. I had heard that gmail accounts can cause these types of problems. However when I go into Contact lists I see 4 listed there and I only want 1 contact list. How do I delete the other contact lists?

I tried this solution, but the problem is that once I go to the contact list, select options, and bring up the keyboard, what I type goes into the search field for existing contacts. Since arset and rset aren't existing contacts, it attempts to add them as a new contact. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Backup assistant: Cannot find online contact list for 2ndary phone

My wife and I have LG8360's - flip phones - and I have the secondary line. I used backup assistant to back up our contact lists. I can find her's but not mine. Is there a trick at log in that I need to do? We are ditching these and going to smartphones so I would like to get this figured out.

If you haven't already done so, you need to create a separate log in for the secondary number. Completely log out of the account for the primary number.
Then click on REGISTER, and put in the secondary number; create a username and password for that number - and you should be good to go. If it tells you the # is already registered, then you are not completely logged out of the primary account.
Each number needs to have it's own log in to MyVerizon for Backup Assistant, and the Media Store for ringtones, etc.

As a world leader in telephone industry, the basic function is very bad, it seems can't delete large amount of telephone contact list, it should be delete it one by one. Second, the divert call function can't use busy divert function, however, this kind of simple function is doing very bad!
