I cannot enter text in the iTunes search box

I'm having a really bizarre problem with iTunes latest version (10.5,0.142). When I click in the search field in the upper right-hand corner of the program, I cannot enter any text--no text cursor appears. I can click on the little down arrow next to the magnifying glass and select "All," or "Artist," or "Album," etc, but I'm not able to enter text. It's like the focus doesn'tshift from the Library pane and any letters I type just cause the highlight for that window to drop down to the closest match to the character I typed, even though the focus has shifted to the search pane.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but that does not correct this misbehavior.
Not sure if it's related, but I also no longer have the text menus available at the top of the window, whether the program is maximized or minimized and taking up only part of the screen (this is not a screen clipping problem--those text menus are no longer there, though you can get very small hotspots to appear near the upper left hand edge of the program window (when you have the program window in normal mode, rather than maximized), where those text menus would be, and if you click on the hotspots, the menus do appear.
But, by far, the first issue is the most perplexing.

Solved: This was caused by replacing the SegoeUI (Regular) true-type font. I have no idea what process or why that font was deleted, but finding the segoeui.ttf file on another Windows machine, emailing it to myself, saving it to disk, then right-clicking and choosing "Install" fixed this problem.

Selected text in the Twitter search box is not highlighted. It should be highlighted. So far as I've noticed, this is the only place where my system doesn't highlight text properly. I can't find any references to this problem with the Twitter search text highlighting anywhere from anyone other than me.
I'm using Firefox 12 on Windows XP Home with the XP classic theme.

The word "This" in the above image should be highlighted.

Such issues have been reported as caused by a PNG image with a white color for the background.
A right-click on that search bar and opening the Inspector and disable the .global-nav .form-search .search-input { []background-color: transparent;} rule also makes this work.<br />
This works only as long as the search bar has focus.<br />
Not sure which rule is causing the selection not to work if the focus is removed.

When I type the text in the google search box the first time the text is visible. Then if I try to type the text again for another seach or query in the text box, the typed text is not visible and it is visible only if I highlight the whole text.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I cannot enter text to change event names

I just installed the newest update for 08 (7.2) and now I cannot enter text into the heading boxes for the events. I can select the area so that a text box comes up, but I don't get that icon thing that tells me that I can type in it. I should also add that I just purchased one of the new apple keyboards and have been having occasional problems like this in other applications.
Any ideas what is going on? Suggestions? Thanks!

You need to have the Helvetica Neue font installed. Open Font Book and check to see if it's installed. If it is, deactivate it and then reactivate. If it's not there, use Pacifist to locate, extract and install the font from the system install disk that came with your Mac.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store?

Cannot enter text in Elements 11 after installing PS CC and LR 5

After downloading installing PhotoShop CC and LightRoom 5, I cannot enter text in PS Elements 11. I get the message that "something prevented the text engine from being initialized."
How do I correct this?

Did you reboot the machine after installing the new applications? In windows 7 and Windows 8 it is almost always required to reboot the machine. sometimes it does it automatically but sometimes it doesn't but it is a good idea to manually RESTART the machine.

How to re-size the explorer search box. - Large text size.

I cannot resize the address or search windows in Windows Explorer, Windows 7 Pro. I do have the text size set up to 200%. No, the user isn't blind, but this is one of those new Dell Laptops with the 3200x1800 resolution. I have read in
other forums about setting the text to below 185%, but nothing official from Microsoft... So, Microsoft, how do I resize these input boxes.

So the main issue is that you're unable to adjust the length of the address\search box even draging them as we mentioned in previous post, right?
If so, we can control this via registry, I did some tests, this settings is related with
HKU\user SID \Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell\NavBar
the user sid is a series of number, as pictuure below:
since the value of NavBar is Binary, hard to edit, so we can find export the key or whole key "shell" from another system or another account which is function fine, then import the registry key to the problematic system, this can change the ratio of the
two boxes.

I have the same problem and when I review my account and enter my cc info it tells me "Your request is temporarily unable to be processed. Please try again later." and this is day 5 of trying again later. What the **** is the prob? It isn't the card bc it has plenty of $$$ on it.

Can't load any websites. I do not get any "error messages", the "enter" button has no effect in the address bar. Works fine in the FF search box and in IE.

Entering a URL in the address bar and hitting enter does nothing. Neither the "enter" button or "address bar arrow", for going to the website, function. Website does not load and no error messages appear. "Enter" button works fine in the FF search box and in IE, so it's not my keyboard.
Tried most of the recommended fixes under the "Error loading websites" article with the exception of "DNS refetching", as typing "about:config" in the location bar does no good as the "enter button" won't function. I've removed and re-added FF back into the windows firewall, removed ZoneAlarm from my system, edited proxy settings, deleted and reinstalled FF several times. NOTHING WORKS!!! I'm a die hard FF fan and this is KILLING me. Please HELP!!!

You have a lot of information in packed in the "More system details..." (in the right-hand column), where it looks like you found a solution. If not take a look at "Problematic Extensions" the AVG Free installation of their "'''AVG Free Search'''" can cause such problems. Directions to fix that are specific and involve reinstalling AVG Free without the Link Scanner component.
