I cannot export my project from Final Cut. All the options are disabled. Can anybody help me?

I have the latest version of FCPX and the final version of Compressor. I have my project ready but I cannot export because everything (Compressor, DVD, MasterFile etc.) is disabled. I need to export this project ASAP.
P.S. This is the first export that I am trying to do on a new iMac, with OS X Yosemite.

I have almost the same problem. When I export a file directly from Final Cut Pro 5.1, the application crashes. Have you had any answer?

I have the most current version of FCE and I am about to purchase FCPX. It looks like FCPX won't export to tape so that is why I want to export it to FCE and then to tape. Can this be done?

You can export a QuickTime Movie from FCPX. Take to movie to FCE and print to video from there.

Just bought the final version of Final Cut Pro X and cannot transfer my existing clips and projects from Final Cut Pro X Trial.

FCP project files are NOT backward compatible with older versions. But you can export an XML file of your FCP 6 project, then use the XML file to build a new project in FCP 5. Check the manual for details.

Exporting HD Video From Final Cut Express HD

When attempting to export HD video from Final Cut Express using "uncompressed" setting, I notice that the output quality seems to be limited to "medium." If no compression is used, wouldn't that imply that the video quality should equal original footage?

All FCE Timelines are using the AIC (Apple Intermediate Codec) for HD stuff if you selected the correct Easy Setup before you started your Project.
If you export as a Quicktime Movie then you are getting exactly the same export quality as the Timeline.
The Quicktime Movie can be either Self-Contained or a Reference file. Reference Files are great because they use/reference you exisating captured files on your Scratch Disc, use less space and export fast.
However if you need to play the export somewhere other than your Mac your will require the file to be Self-Contained.
QuickTime Conversion does just that, Converts to whatever you select.

i'm ready to export an HD project from final cut. i want to use compressor to export it and then to import it on DVD Studio Pro and burn it on DVD. what setting should i use when exporting it using compressor?

If you plan to deliver on DVD, use the DVD preset in Compressor that comes closest to matching your program's duration. If you plan to add menus or other extras, take that ito account when determining which preset to use.
Keep in mind that DVD is a STANDARD DEFINITION format only so your HD footage will be scaled down to fit 720x480 (640x480 square pixels). You can make an HD DVD, but that is an obsolete format and will not play in any regular DVD player.

as a pro evidently in need of exporting to Protools or whatever, you should stay away from FCP X, & stick with FCP7 for now. Wait & see what fixes or solutions Apple comes up with once the smoke clears after tuesdays debacle of this software introduction. Unles I am mistaken, the USB to AV cables are only used to deliver an AV signal to the Mac (such as a DVD player, etc) to enable the AV to be recorded.
If you want to transmit powerpoint to a projector, you need to use the displayport on the Mac. Once this is connected, the mac will automatically pick it up and set the projector up as a second monitor.
Depending on the model Mac you are using and also the avaliable connections you have to the projector, will tell you the type on connector you need.
These are DP to VGA, DP to DVI, DP to HDMI. The last one, if you have a mdern Mac, should also carry the audio signal to the projector.

I don't follow your instructions... mine goes Settings->General->Cellular and from there it's just on/off options for Cellular Data, Enable 3G, Data Roaming, etc. Or I could go Settings->General->Profile APN Carrier Settings but when I click that it just shows as verified but no Visual Voice APN or MMS Settings. If I click More Details it goes to Signing Certificate which has a bunch of parameters for unlockit.co.nz but I am unable to change anything.
I just updated my iphone 3GS to IOS 6 and my internet (wifi and 3G), voice and text all work, but the only thing I can't do is send/receive pictures via text message. I am using At&t prepaid sim. I would recommend deleting the affected movie from your iPad, and redownloading the movie.
