This is a common question, and i apologize, but I have yet to see an answer. I'm in the UK. I have bought an Airport Extreme. I need to buy a moden (not a combined router/modem, presumably.) I cannot find one in stores or on the web. Please help.

I need a modem to go with my new Airport Extreme. I assume I cannot connect with my existing Router/Modem. I can't find a product either in stores or on the net. I know this is a common question, but I have yet to find a suitable answer. Any advice for a fairly low tech guy?

Thought I'd mention, as when I got my Airport I spent ages looking for a really small neat modem to use with it and this was the best I could find so other people might be interested too.

Got to settings/general/spotlight search and tick podcasts. Then when on the home screen if you swipe down from the middle of the screen the spotlight search window appears and you can search for podcasts

For information about the Other category in the Storage display, see this support article. If the display seems to be inaccurate, try rebuilding the Spotlight index.
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
In Photos:
File ▹ Show Recently Deleted ▹ Delete All
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) or GrandPerspective (GP) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one. Note that ODS only works with OS X 10.8 or later. If you're running an older OS version, use GP.
Deleting files inside a photo or iTunes library will corrupt the library. Changes to such a library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS or GP can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install the app in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. You'll be prompted for your login password.
The application window will open behind other open windows. When you scan a volume, the window will eventually show all files in all folders, sorted by size. It may take a few minutes for the app to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with the app, quit it and also quit Terminal.

Refer this article to reset Winsock to it's default. Your PCTools may have inserted LSP.

The payment methods that are available in your country will show on your account. If debit cards aren't available on that screen then you won't be able to use it as your payment method.

You should go to the web site for the iTrip product and see what app it is, I'll bet there's a link there that will take you right to the app. Don't worry, as you get more stuff it'll be easier to figure it all out, eventually it'll be plain old common sense that solves these types of issues for you

CS2. Where do I find the serial number from the Download. Please Help.

I have a Disk version of my old CS2 and there is no longer validation service for it by phone nor by e-mail. So I uninstalled it and now that I downloaded it from adobe's site,I can't find the serial number, and the one from the original box it's saying that it is not valid. Updating to iOS 5 wiped my ipod clean, can't find the backup from the update. Please help!

So I updated my ipod touch 4th generation on my old Windows Vista computer. It's been the same iTunes computer that I used to sync with when I first bought the device when it came out. I wiped the old backups inside iTunes before updating because it was taking space. While updating it was backing up my iPod. But then when it finished updating and said I was at iOS 5, it didn't restore my iPod touch. I went into the mobile sync>backup folder in my app data but couldn't find the backup from the update. Apparently iTunes doesn't save the backup from the update. I had 20gb's of my apps on the iPod. I know that I can download back the apps because of iCloud. However, I lost all my photos, notes, contacts, and all the app data in the 140+ apps that were in there. I am pretty sure there is no solution for this problem but I'm just putting it out there. This is my last sliver of hope.

hello, i have the same problem as you, did you back up before iOS 5? so, you your situation is, that you have an empty, iOS 5 ipod, with the apps, but no game data, no notes, contacts, photos etc. ? ive got the same problem, did any of your apps disappear by any chance? if you backed up before update, use that, if not, i suggest restore to the oldest back up you have, but the newest back up you had before iOS 5, its better than an emptry ipod, hope i helped.

After reading and searching to the best of my abilities, it would appear that there are many different iterations of moving an iTunes folder from one computer to another; so far, I've not seen this one...
One of our kids is moving away to school with a new PC; he will need to move the iTunes library from the Mac Pro (about 64G in size) to the PC; how do we accomplish this, attempting to keep the playlists?
Again, I know that this particular direction may seem a bit peculiar, but it is what we need to do right now. Both iTunes apps have been updated to the latest version (v10.4.1 on the pc, for instance...) In addition, I'll take care of enabling/disabling the computers as needed, with regard to my iTunes account...

Cannot delete or drag problematic movie from iTunes...Please Help!

I converted a movie in iTunes and every time I try to upload it to my iPod iTunes crashes. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of the converted movie. I have tried using the delete button, deleting it from the menu, dragging it into the trash (all from "movies" and the "playlist"). How can I get rid of the movie? I can't upload anything to my iPod until it's gone.

Click on the folder in the Finder's sidebar or the title bar with the house icon, and then on Music followed by iTunes and then iTunes Music. In the iTunes music library, look for an item created around the time you converted the movie, and move that item to the desktop. If you can't find it in the iTunes library, open the file iTunes Music Library.xml in a text editor, search this file for the movie's name, and then for the following instance of file://. Following that will be the path to the movie; after locating it, drag it to the desktop.

In system preferences, create a new account again, using the short name of the "deleted" account. You may be prompted to re-use the old home folder. Log out and log in to test it worked. Then log in as your new admin, and do the delete process again. Don't choose to securely delete this time - just a regular delete.
When you have time to spare, go to Disk Utility, and use the Erase tab to securely erase free space on the drive. This will accomplish the same thing that your originally tried to do. Use the fastest method - anything more secure is a waste of time. You may need to run it overnight - it can take several hours.
