I cannot find one of my internal drives?

I deleted the content from one of our TB drives, then I renamed the drive. Now the drive is no where to be found. How can I locate it?

What type of item is it, and is it still available in the store ? If the developer/distributor has removed it from the store then it won't be re-downloadable, and not all content types can be re-downloaded in all countries.

I actually had no clue what the core problem was caused by. So it's Windows itself...that helps some.
I'll resubmit there. It might actually have saved time for it to simply have been moved to there instead of off-topic, though I suppose you have to follow protocol.

I have an old MAC using OS 10.5 (does not have Intel processor). I need a new printer, but i cannot find one that will work with such an old operating system. Is there a new printer that will work with this old system?

Canon Pixma iP4950 works great with my PPC G5 iMac on Leopard. Maybe other of their models do as well.

I know there must be an answer, but I cannot find one....

Recently my daughter "misplaced" her iPod touch. I know the serial # and it was registered with Apple. There should be a way for the iTunes store to recognize if it is connected and report it found. I know about www.ihoundsoftware.com, but I did not have the app on the device, so it is useless now. It really irks me that we cannot find it and after days of searching I suspect it might have "walked." It seems extremely technically "easy" to validate a serial # when logged in and find it surprising that Apple's programmers aren't capable of such a convenient feature. Unfortuantely I cannot afford another one. Does anyone have any ideas of what I may be able to do, or services besides www.ihoundsoftware.com that can be used after the fact?

Well, what if I buy an iPod on Ebay.
Seems legit, I have no reason to think it's stolen (or "found")
Now, I plug it in, it "talks" to Apple, and they accuse me of using a stolen iPod.
I'd be pretty p*ssed off if that were the case, and believe me, legalities do come into play there.
I'm sure in time that a method of doing this will be accomplished, in the meantime, have her watch Polar Express and cross her little fingers

One of my Internal Drives refuses to Boot up

Greetings all,
I have 3 internal Hard Drives in my G4.
1.) The original 30GIG for emergency start up
2.) 160Gig For storage
3.) 250GIG as my prefered start up disk with apps and most work files ... This one is backed up on an external Fire Wire.
The 250GIG stopped booting... after a hard restart (due to a freeze), it would restart from the 30GIG. I've zapped the PR, also replace the battery (long overdue)
I can restart from the Back-up FW, but everytime a choose the 250 Internal, it restarts with the little 30 GIG Drive instead.
I've been able to start up from the 250G in the past, although I did have this issue before, which I had to jump thru hoops to get the 250G back to booting.

When you depress/hold the Option key at startup to
initiate the Startup Manager, does the problem drive
appear in the window?
Does the problem drive appear in the System
Profiler?
If you don't have DiskWarrior, startup from one of
the other drives & run Disk Utility. However, it may
take DiskWarrior to fix the problem.

So far Disk Warrior didn't fix the prob.
Yes, I do see the drive in my prefs and I can select it as a Start Up drive, but it keeps deciding to start up from the original drive.
So far, I ran Disk Utilities and Disk Warrior... apparently there were issues, but they were resolved as far as I can tell in both Utility progs. Still, I can't restart from this drive. I can start up from it's back-up FW drive, but I don't really want to do that.

I have a new Mac. I installed my Bridge CS4 that I ran on my old mac. When I import RAW photos from my Nikon d90 they come in with an .NEF extension. I need to install a converter but cannot find one.

Apparently this is not a readable form for Bridge as the picture does not appear. I believe I need a converter to convert .NEF to .dng but I can't find one. Any ideas?

You do not need to convert to DNG.
The NEFs from your camera model have been supported since ACR 4.6 and 5.1.
What you need to do is update your ACR plug-in to version 5.7, the latest and last version for CS4. Right now, you are probably on ACR 5.0, the version supplied with the original release of Photoshop CS4.
Be aware that the Adobe updater is extremely unreliable when it comes to CS5, so that you must do the update manually. There are detailed instructions on the ACR 5.7 plug-in download page. You MUST follow those instructions to the letter.

Cannot Find Photos on External Hard Drive Using iPhoto and Time Machine

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting on this forum and am really hoping for some help! I have a 2006 PowerBook G4 that is running iPhoto and Time Machine, and I've used an external hard drive to backup everything on the computer via Time Machine. When I plug the external hard drive into my newer 2010 MacBook Pro, I follow this path to try to access the photos:
     External Hard Drive > Backups.backupd > PowerBook G4 12" > Latest > Macintosh HD > Users > Me > Pictures > iPhoto Library
When I click "iPhoto Library", I get the following message:
     "The iPhoto Library is a Time Machine backup, and so cannot be used as the main library. Relaunch iPhoto with <option> key held down to choose another   library."
So, I do as the error message says and I hold down the "option" key and iPhoto launches and says:
     What Photo Library do you want iPhoto to use?
In this case, I choose "Other Library..." and again follow this path:
     External Hard Drive > Backups.backupd > PowerBook G4 12" > Latest > Macintosh HD > Users > Me > Pictures > iPhoto Library
When I choose this, I again get the following message:
     The iPhoto Library is a Time Machine backup, and so cannot be used as the main library. Relaunch iPhoto with <option> key held down to choose another   library.
So as you can see, I'm feeling a bit like I'm chasing my tail in trying to open these photos. I did follow another user's advice and confirm that all photos are infact on the hard drive by using the "control" button and clicking "iPhoto Library" under the pictures folder, and choosing "Show Package Contents". All looks to be in tact in the "originals" folder when showing package contents, however, I just can't find a way to actually view the photos in iPhoto. I really don't want to import all the photos to my current MacBook Pro, because I'd like them to live on the external hard drive (which is formatted for Macs) so that I can browse the photos on the external drive, rather than housing it on my computer.
One other thing I tried was opening iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and going to File > Browse Backups... which essentially opens Time Machine and shows me the photos on my MacBook Pro but gives me no option to view them from my External Hard Drive.
Any super users out there willing to lend me some help?

You can have an iPhoto library on an external drive and use it from different machines
and you can have a Time Machine backup
The two can not be on the same volume - and iPhoto can not access the TM backup - it must be restored to use it

One of my internal drive's won't mount

I accidently removed an internal hard drive from one of the bays in my mac pro while the computer was sleeping (I thought it was shut down). Now, when I insert the drive back into the bay it will not mount. I've run First Aid from the disk utility several times and it's indicated as being ok but when I try to mount it I get a "mount failed" error message. Can anyone help?

One, possible two posts should read ground. Test for continuity against the metal case. Another should read 5V+DC. I think the four prong are: ground, ground, illumination then power. The connectors are gold plated and should not corrode, however, they are no match against fine particles of dust. You can carefully unplug both sides of the drive connections and vacuum. Usually, to unplug and re-plug is enough to get it to work again. When there no power coming off the logic board, you can find a Y-splitter and power off the other drive.

Cannot rip a cd with internal drive while burning disc with external drive

Does anyone know why I cannot access any disc with my internal superdrive while Toast Titanium 11 is burning a blu-ray movie on my external drive?

I have a WD external hard drive that I have used for some time with no problems. There is plenty of space left on it. It is dividied in two with Time Machine and a personal section. I backed it up yesterday after adding to it. Today, when I plugged it into my computer, it is not listed as one of my devices and does not appear on my Desktop as usual. The USB cord is firmly attached and lights up the drive box but I even changed to a new cord and it still does not work. What can I do? I am working on a project and need those files to continue!!!!

Then correct the name of the song or point iTunes to the new file.
Issues with restoring should be directed to the manufacturer of the backup software/device... this is not an Apple or iTunes issue.

I cannot find one specific email

I have tried multiple times with different email searches, but generally, I am on the street using wifi trying to locate the one email that I know I saw somewhere on the computer earlier. It's either archived in a folder aka "label" if gmail or filed if using Outlook. However, no matter how many correct search parameters (sender, subject), the ipod mail search turns up nada. Whenever I go onto my email account using a computer, I search using the same keyword for less than a second, and it appears. What is the best way to find specific emails in searches when I need them?!

This is a common question, and i apologize, but I have yet to see an answer. I'm in the UK. I have bought an Airport Extreme. I need to buy a moden (not a combined router/modem, presumably.) I cannot find one in stores or on the web. Please help.

I need a modem to go with my new Airport Extreme. I assume I cannot connect with my existing Router/Modem. I can't find a product either in stores or on the net. I know this is a common question, but I have yet to find a suitable answer. Any advice for a fairly low tech guy?
