The install disk that came with my airport express a few years ago is not compatible with OS 10,6.4. Currently I cant find a way to access my airport extreme with out the software.

OS 10.6.4 already has the latest version of AirPort Utility installed, which is AirPort Utility 5.5.1.
Try the following:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
If the application cannot find the AirPort Extreme when you scan for devices, try temporarily connecting an ethernet cable from your computer to one of the LAN <-> ports on the AirPort Extreme.
You can disconnect the ethernet cable once you have the AirPort Extreme configured.

Starting fresh with a SSD and I cannot find my Snow Leopard disc...

So I have a Mac Pro with OS X 10.6.8, 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8 GB ram, and I am trying to move my OS over to a Solid State Drive. I have the original instal disc for 10.5 but I cannot find my Snow Leopard disc.
So I installed 10.5 on the SSD but can't figure out anyway to upgrade to 10.6, at which point I can purchase Mountain Lion or whatever, but you can't upgrade beyond Snow Leopard without first having Snow Leopard, right?
I know I can "clone" my original SATA drive with Snow Leopard, but part of the reason I am doing this is to get rid of a bunch of the useless crap on that drive, so I'd like to avoid a full clone.
I know it's only $20 to buy a fresh version of Snow Leopard, but on 10.5 there is no App Store, and there doesn't seem to be anyway to purchase it online as a download. So I would need to go to a real life store or have it shipped, right?
So if there is some other way to upgrade or to clone JUST the OS without any of the other crap, that would be amazing!

Why not download and look at its options? I recommended for that and other reasons.
And yes you should move all your data to another drive. Keep what you have 'as is' and pull it as extra backup or in reserve.
Before you clone, install TRIM Enabler!
And after you clone, run Disk Utility's REPAIR DISK on the SSD -- just to be on the safest side.

Can I restore the Snow Leopard version of 'Preview' for use in Mountain Lion?

When running Snow Leopard I enjoyed using Preview with my HP C7280 All-in-One Scanner/Printer. I could place several items on the glass plate and Preview would then carry out a "preview scan". The superior edge detection software contained in Preview would recognise that there was more than one item on the scanner glass and put a marquee rectangle around each object (even separate images in a magazine page). I could de-select objects if I wanted to at this point to avoid scanning them, or I could opt to scan.
Preview would then scan all selected items in one go outputting a separate file for each one. No need to re-scan and select the next object. Preview would do the lot in one go! This was fantastic for saving time for me.
Preview really 'kicked the crap' out of my PC at work. The best the scanning software on the PC could was to auto-detect a single item.* So if I have a lot to do, I have to preview scan and then save/scan each item individually to achieve the same result.
All this changed when I updated from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. The scanning is nothing like as effective and time saving as before. Preview just scans the whole glass plate straight to a file irrespective of what is on it, no preview scan and no object edge detection whatsoever; not even a single object like on my old PC at work. Absolute rubbish!
I really want to restore the functionality I had before. So I wonder, is it best to revert my iMac to Snow Leopard, or can I achieve this another way? I don't necessarily want to abandon Mountain Lion - but I will if I have to.
Is it possible to restore the Snow Leopard version of Preview whilst keeping Mountain Lion? Or maybe download the Lion version from somewhere instead - assuming that the Lion version still has same functionality as the Snow Leopard version?
*Even this is better than what Preview does since I updated to Mountain Lion

It's either that or finding other software for your scanning needs. For example, Image Capture comes with OS X, VueScan 9.2.09, ExactScan Pro 2.24.
Alternatively, partition your hard drive and install Snow Leopard on another volume.
To resize the drive do the following:
1. Open Disk Utility and select the drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list.
2. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. You should see the graphical sizing window showing the existing partitions. A portion may appear as a blue rectangle representing the used space on a partition.
3. In the lower right corner of the sizing rectangle for each partition is a resizing gadget. Select it with the mouse and move the bottom of the rectangle upwards until you have reduced the existing partition enough to create the desired new volume's size. The space below the resized partition will appear gray. Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed. (Note: You can only make a partition smaller in order to create new free space.)
4. Click on the [+] button below the sizing window to add a new partition in the gray space you freed up. Give the new volume a name, if you wish, then click on the Apply button. Wait until the process has completed.
You should now have a new volume on the drive. Use the Snow Leopard installer DVD to install Snow Leopard on your new volume.
It would be wise to have a backup of your current system as resizing is not necessarily free of risk for data loss. Your drive must have sufficient contiguous free space for this process to work.

There is no download for Snow Leopard and never was for the general public. Phone the Apple Store and buy it.
Purchasing Lion isn't necessary to get Mountain Lion, but you will need to run the Mac OS X 10.6.8 combo updater.

How can I return to the Snow Leopard version of Quick Look?

Lion does not allow playing more than one movie clip in succession, using Quick Look. In Snow (and earlier), you can select a bunch of clips, hit the spacebar, and they each play in alpha/numeric order without clicking the arrow button to play the next one. So, if your movie project is 10 clips in a folder, you highlight each and hit Space (play), you've got to click the forward arrow per clip. That's 10 times. You can't see your project as a whole. How can you get that function back? It's the same deal when quick-looking photos.
I prefer this method because it does not put what you view into the Recent Items.

The only way to return is to remove Lion and reinstall Snow Leopard.

Only with iStatMenus or MenuMeters. You will need to download the updates for them. iStat Pro is a widget so it still works with Snow.

Where can I buy the snow leopard software disc?

Not stupid.
5-license disk can be installed (and stay installed) on 5 separate systems at the same time.
1-user disk can be used to upgrade for the purpose of going to Lion or ML, then used to upgrade another because it is no longer actually installed on the system that is Lion or ML.
If you think you will ever need installed on two systems at the same time, remeber that Apple will eventually stop selling it for $19/$29 and your only source will be Amazon at $100+.
I bought a spare 5-user disk for the very "$100+ through Amazon" reason.

So I upgraded it a few years ago...I bought the disc at the store and upgraded it. Now that I am out of college, I don't use my laptop a whole lot besides just the usual internet surfing and things. Well now I am getting ready to start a new job that I will be on it all the time and use Excel and other programs. Over the years, I have things on it that I really don't want/need anymore. I would like to wipe it clean of everything and start fresh, only problem is that I can't find the snow leopard cd, or any other cd's that came with the laptop. From what I am reading I seem to need the snow leopard disc to do this? Can I go out and buy a new disc? Do I need the disc to do this?

It is always installed with whatever new version of OS X is installed or appropriate updates. Since you plan to go forward your choice depends on your model. I would urge you to perform a clean install instead of continuing the upgrade path which may interject incompatibilities.
Upgrading to Yosemite
You can upgrade to Yosemite from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Yosemite can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.

To upgrade to Yosemite you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Yosemite from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Yosemite is free. Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Yosemite, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Before attempting a clean install you want to first download the appropriate installer application from the App Store. It will download into your Applications folder. You need to make a copy of it in your Downloads folder so you can make a bootable USB flash drive:

After downloading the installer you must first save the Install Mac OS X application. After the installer downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button.    2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.

Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list.
Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to an hour depending upon the flash drive size.

I think you identified my mistake. I confused tables-charts-graphs. I was wanting a "table" of cells (numbers) to be added to the Pages document. Is there no way to do that and keep the tables linked between Numbers09 and Pages09?
An example would be a Numbers spreadsheet calculating a number (say, a product price) and that number (data) be linked to a product information text in Pages.
I just recently saw the Merge function in Pages, but have not yet learned how that works. I don't use Pages much at all but it would come in handy for creating to information sheets about products --- with the product pricing being updated from a Numbers spreadsheet.
If you have any hints on how that can be done or where I can find info on that I would appreciate it.

I started getting this error message for the first time today. When I look in the event log I see it every time anyone tries to sync to a mobile device to the exchange server. I've also had this problem trying to connect using
Outlook. I believe it is an IIS issue but I'm not absolutely sure so I'm posting this in the Exchange forum as well.

I have tried most, if not all, of the different post's suggestions to no avail.
The steps I have taken are as follows...
1. Repaired .Net 4 (Both the client and extended)
2. Uninstalled and reinstalled .Net Framework 4.0.
3. Verified that the dll exists.
4. Checked the applicationHost.config file. It contains the follow statement...

Please confirm whether users can access their mailboxes from Outlook Web Access or not. We can do the following changes to have a try:
1. In IIS > Application Pools, change the .NET Framework Version to v2.0 and restart IIS service.
2. If it doesn’t work, explore the Default Web site.
3. Renamed the web.config file to web.config.old
4. Reset IIS using iisreset command to have a try.
