I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with a quick question I have.
As part of the Star Wars fan club (get your giggles out of the way now), I'm given an e-mail address. If someone sends me an e-mail, all it does is forwards it to the default address I have listed with Starwars.com.
In the help section, it also explains that I can make messages 'appear' as if they are from my SW address. Here is the exact tip:
To have your out-going email appear to be from your Star Wars email address, enter it in the "Reply to" field available under "Preferences" or "Options" in many email applications (including Outlook, Eudora, Netscape, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and others).
Does anyone know where exactly in Mail I could this, or if it's even possible? SW.com hasn't really helped. Thanks.

Select New for a new message.
At the menu bar, go to View and select Reply-To Address Field.
A Reply-To Address Field will be added to the message header and will be included when selecting New for a new message and when replying to or forwarding a message.
You must enter the desired Reply-To address manually for each message.

"Cannot Send Message" from Verizon to Hotmail

I see by reading this board that many others have problems with Verizon e-mail accounts.
When I try to send e-mails from my Verizon account into my Hotmail mailbox using an iMac, I get this message every time: "Cannot send message using the server e-mail." The only thing it is letting me do is send an e-mail from one Verizon folder into another. It won't let me go from Verizon into Hotmail.
I checked with Apple tech support, and their claim is that Verizon is for some reason blocking the outgoing e-mail into MSN/Hotmail.
I checked out the options under 'Advanced Account Info' but am not tech-savvy enough to understand what I am looking at, and the bottom section tells me to get advice from a systems administrator. Could anyone tell me the best way to go about getting this advice?

Lets take first issue first: Apple does not charge a customer to 'keep' iPad access. That does not happen at apple. If you were billed and charged that amount of money from someone you were speaking to over the phone, you were not talking with Apple support. If you need to speak with apple support you are free to call them at 800MYAPPLE and they will talk to you for no more money than 19.00/ support event.

Forward is a specific action that can be done with iMessages on a phone.
Have your tried turning everything Off and then On Again ?
I say this as I updated to Mac OS X 10.8.2 first then iOS 6 on the devices I had.
On each iOS device there was a restart and at this point I was asked on my Mac to allow the Apple ID and iPhone Numbers to be allowed/added to Messages (I have two iPhones so I said no to one)

Using VersaMail with Juno E-Mail Account

I can receive e-mail using my paid Juno e-mail account but I cannot send out mail using it. I keep getting this error message: 450 smtp01.nyc.untd.com authenication required. My setup for outgoing mail is correct. Could someone provide some information on this.

You're saying this is happening on a Mac?? Find My iPhone is a feature of iOS devices, not Macs. If you are trying to change the iCloud ID on an iOS device, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Cannot delete messages from inbox, cannot move messages out of inbox, message do not copy to "sent" or "draft"

The following problems occur:
- cannot delete messages,
- cannot move messages out of inbox,
- messages do not copy "sent"
- messages cannot be saved to "draft"
This applies to imap and to gmail accounts.
The following has not helped:
- compact trash and other folder
- deinstall and reinstall TB 31.4.
- archive profile with mozbackup and replace profile from archive after reinstall of TB.
- deinstall and reinstall TB 31.3 downgraded
- delete all folders and files with "trash*" in the file name (all IMAP)
- delete all files of 1 mail account completely in the TB profile and resync from server (IMAP)
This might coincide with these system changes:
- upgrade to TB 31.4.
- some of these email accounts were installed on ios8 iphone.
Not sure if the problems had already started before these 2 occurrences.
Any help is appreciated to solve this.

What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? If POP, what are your Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove copy from server settings?
You may be able to get rid of those messages in Mail doing Edit > Cut (⌘X) (for best results do it with one message or just a few at a time), but you should remove them from the server first if they’re still there.
Does this account allow web access? If not, you may find the Account Info window useful to solve this problem — choose Get Info (⌘I) from the Action menu (gear icon) located below the mailboxes list in the main Mail window.

Cannot delete message from Trash

Hi
I have more than 10,000 deleted messages under Trash, in a folder named "on my mac".
When I try to empty that folder o just empy the whole Trash, Mail crashes due to the high volume.
I would like to delete those messages from the Finder, but I cannot find there the "on my mac" folder.
Any ideas on how to get rid of the deleted messages?

The messages are .emlx files, but there is an index file that will still point to them unless they are deleted in mail.
Try opening a few of the ( you say it's 60 000 now? it was 10 000 before ) messages - I hope you'll get a message saying they can't be displayed.
If you do, go to the mail menu Mail-Mailbox-Rebuild . this should re-work the index so it reflects the true number of messages.
Having said that - have you tried just deleting the mailbox, rather than trying to empty it? highlight the 'on my mac' trash mailbox & choose Mail-Mailbox-Delete.
Failing all that - I'd be tempted to move your wanted messages to various new mailboxes, ( in modest numbers per mailbox - perhaps not numbered in the 10 000's?) make a copy somewhere safe of the entire Mail folder, then force Mail to start from scratch & import your old wanted messages into mail.
To do this - after you've created your new mailboxes & moved the messages you want to keep into them; copied the Mail folder and Quit Mail
In Finder locate home/library/mail/ & trash that folder.
Then locate home/library/preferences/com.apple.mail.plist & move it onto the desktop, just in case things go wrong. ( I mean Move, don't leave the original file in the Preferences folder )
Open Mail again - you'll be asked for account details ( you wrote them down first?)
Just in case you get asked "do you want to import..." at this stage - Don't do it.
Then. from Mail, use Mail-File-Import Mailboxes & point it to the "mailboxes" folder inside the copy of the Mail folder you made.
Choose only the new mailboxes that you made, & moved your wanted messages to . Import them & they should all be viewable in mail.
Try the 'rebuild' or delete mailbox first though - & if any of the above isn't crystal clear - ask before you proceed.

Cannot receive messages from one person only...

My friend and I both have iphone 4s (with iOS 6.1.3). One day i stopped receiving messages from her. I can still receive an iMessage from her (but since neither one of us has data that is dependent on internet availability) but regular text messages won't come through. She can receive regular messages from me. I can receive regular messages from everyone else (including other iphone users). I don't know what happened. I have tried multiple suggestions i found online (including deleting and readding her contact, she did same, restarted phones, typed number manually, typing number twice etc.) but none of them work. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated!!

I'm having a similar problem. I can receive texts from this one person but he cannot receive mine. I can also not call him but he can call me. He uses A T&T but does not have this problem when texting other verizon users. I have an Iphone 4S and he has an Iphone 5. This has been happening for 3 days. I have tried resetting the networks, restarting my phone, and checking blocked contacts. Nothing is helping with the issue.
