I cannot get Address book to work at all. I keep saving addresses under the "Message" menu but they don't appear.

I can't get "AddressBook" to work at all. I opens and shows the same three addresses saved ages ago. I click on the "Messages" menu drop down and try to save the current address of an e-mail but nothing happens. Very frustrating. Any tips?? Thanks, Peter

Try reseting (not just turning off) your phone: hold down the Home button and the Power button on the top until the Silver Apple appears (ignore the red slider if it appears). See if the reset clears things up!

yes, its the macbook air and mac OS X 10.7.4, not sure how that goes, about the time machine and time capsule, i only started using it today, when they were already deleted, also read at the support and help of iphoto, that if you delete your images from the picture folder that the images will be corrupted permanently, does this mean there there is no actual way of getting them back?

I have since fiund out that the talk to text feature is only available on devices that support Siri, iPad3, iPhone4 and later. Hope this helps someone else.

Does it still see interent content/Movie rentals just not your iTunes library?
If you've not done so unplug AppleTv2 from mains then restart it in case it's somehow still trying to talk to the pre-Lion machine and not getting the right/expected responses.
Try disabling/re-enabling Home Sharing in iTunes if that doesn't work.

Hi, I was given an iphone 3gs. Upon trying to sync with itunes I discovered that the phone has actually been jailbroken. I cannot get my iphone to work at all now. Does anyone know what to do?

The phone has given me a 1015 error - unknown error has occured, during the firmwre comfirmation.
We have tired the tricks with holding the home button down for 10 secs etc, we have tried installing a number of different versions of itunes, but no joy.
We did do a backup of the phone before trying to sync it but can't re-install that either.
I have been told the only way to get the phone functional again is to re-jailbreak it, do a back up of that and try to udpate back to the apple IOS from there but the phone is not responding.
It turns on, and is in emergancy mode only, wehn I put hte sim in it's not recognising it, all it wants is to connect to itunes, which it wont do when you try.
I don't know what to do try next, at a dead end here.
I don't want a jail broken phone, I just want it to function like its meant to but at this stage I will settle for a phone that works at all.
Any suggestions,,,,,,,,, anyone??

Have latest version of iTunes installed and running. Also make sure you have internet access working and can access Apple websites. Also, make sure you don't have any entries in your hosts file referring to gs.apple.com....If your not sure about how to do that, go ahead and do the rest first. You can come back to that later.....Plug in phone. Put phone in DFU mode.(google put iphone in DFU mode for instructions) Then restore the phone in iTunes by highliting your device in the left column and click on the Restore button. The latest iOS version is 4.3.3. That's what iTunes will restore it to. When it's done restoring, iTunes will ask if you want to restore from a backup or setup as a new phone. I would use the Setup as a New Phone option. Once it's done, you should have a clean install of the iOS and an operating phone, as long as there are no hardware issues with it.

Try using OpenDNS servers:
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS.
Click on the + in the left side column and add the following:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Click OK, then click Apply
BTW one post is sufficient. Two clogs the servers.

I cannot get my update to work at all . The firefox app icon and arrow pointing to the Applications file appears on my desktop again and again. I keep putting in the folder but it refuses to work. I have Mac OSX 10.6.8

I downloaded the update file and moved in to the Applications folder as asked , it is there as an alias . There is a new icon on my desktop . I cannot move to the dock however . I click on both this icon and the one in apps and it keeps giving me my original box with Firefox icon, arrow and apps folder. I am going round and round and getting no where!

Cannot get home sharing to work on all computers

I have a PC (running win7) with itunes and my music files on it. My daughter has a netbook (again win7) with itunes that accesses the shared music on my PC. So far everything is great! However my laptop (yet again, win7) has itunes installed but for some reason will not access the shared music on my PC.
All the machines are using itunes 9.0.3.15.
I have just reinstalled windows on my laptop (it did work before!).
Any help to enable me to connect my laptop to the shared music on my PC would be greatly appreciated!

The strange thing is my PC can see the laptop library, but not the other way around.
I'm actually starting to think about giving up with this and buying some wireless speakers and controlling itunes on my PC with VNC. At least this way I'll have the cover flow, too!

Why don't the add ons work when I install them? I can see them in the addon manager, but they don't work when I want to use them. Also very annoying when you have to register for one stinking question!!!

I installed a new dictionary. Something that worked fine when I installed it in the previous versions, works fine on my pc. But I have installed the dictionary 3 times now and it won't "take". I see it in the addon manager, but when I want to switch from us to dutch dictionary, it's just not there to be switched to. It's annoying and I need the dictionary

You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.

I somehow or other seem to have completely erased everything and have had to run the internet recover for my macbook air. Im not sure which year model it is. Anyway I am trying to reinstall lion from internet recovery and was using a verizon jetpack. Well it got down to 3 hours 6 mins remaining and that was after about an hour of running (it was actually installing lion for me) then it began going up slowly clear up to three and a half hours. So i decided to try using an ethernet connection and now I cant even get internet recovery to recognize that there is internet and it keeps putting an exclaimation point in the globe and saying -4403F. Ive tried going through the process several times and I am lost. Can someone please help me. I do have an open case with Apple Care but I want to get this up and running tonight if possible and they are closed.

Mail keeps asking to rebuild my mail boxes, but they don't rebuild and so it won't work

when I open mail, I just get a dialogue box giving me the options of quiting or rebuilding the mailboxes. I have tried both options mltiple times, rebooted, an none of that works.

You probably have a corruption in your Mail. Are you using Apple's iCloud mail or some other? Whatever it is, could you go to the web via your browser and check that everything is ok with your mail on the web. If it is, you will need to delete all your mail folders and start afresh. What OS version are you on?

Web searches are being done using yahoo and not google. I tried the fixes given but they don't work. I want to use Google by default

I definitely have put this under the wrong catergory but i don't care, I was wondering why everytime i click on a video to play it says: Windows media player has stopped working

Ok, so I made a video with Bandicam, and every time I click on it to play it (it is saved as an MP4), it just says: Windows Media Player has stopped working. Then it gives me two choices: Close the program OR look online for a solution. I REALLY want to
post these videos, but I can't. If anyone could help that would be great!

Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)
