I cannot get adobe to install. It use to until the latest update. now what?
I was prompted to install the latest version of Adobe Reader. I did. Now I get a dark screen. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Still not working. HELP!!!
I can't view PDF files.
Apple products are pretty masterful at viewing PDF files without any Adobe software. Preview does a pretty good job.
If you un-install Adobe Reader, can you not see the PDF file?

I re-installed Mountain Lion from scratch of a USB stick, and now my Apps in the App store ca not be installed, the App store indicates that they are already installed, but that is not the case. Now what?
Ok, this is somewhat of a better work around I've found:
Starting in the Australian iTunes store, I go through the process of signing into the UK iTunes store up until the point it asks for my credit card information.
I then click the 'X' in the top left of iTunes to exit the store.
Now when I click on my Apps Updates button it shows me what UK Apps I have that are available to update.
You can't download these as at this point I've changed the store I'm viewing, but haven't officially switched accounts. Not to worry.
I write down the names of the UK Apps to update.
Then, use the 'search store' field in the top right of iTunes to search for one of the Apps.
Once you've found it, click to buy it / download it.
iTunes recognises that the App is already in your account and downloads it again for free….
… now I'm HOPING that that App is now fully within my Australian account… unfortunately only time will tell once there is a new update for it.

1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center. -
I am using MobileMe on my Mac. Until the last update a few days ago, Firefox always allowed me to attach files to my emails. Now, when I click on the paper clip, and it takes to me find the file I want to attach, and I highlight the file I want to attach and click on 'open', nothing at all happens. the screen just goes back to my email. It always worked before, it does not now. It DOES work on Safari but I hate Safari, i want to use firefox.

-> Clear the Network Cache
-> Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Check and tell if its working. Hope that helps! -
Error Cache:

I get a bunch of these Cache Errors. Happens with application only, its blackboard hosted by continuinged.uml.edu.
Run the same thing using IE it has no problems. Firefox till the latest upgrade was also working fine.
What can I do to resolve this problem?There's a bug in 3.6.14 with Java applets. 3.6.15 was released last Friday to fix that bug. Use '''Help > Check for Updates''' to start the update process to 3.6.15.

I'vd downloaded the latest version - now what do I have to do to install?

Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod. -
Just installed the latest update, now iTunes won't launch

iTunes was running perfectly fine, but wouldn't let me access the iTunes store until I installed the latest software update (9.0.2 or something like that). The software installed successfully, but now iTunes won't open. When I click on the icon in the dock, it bounces once, then nothing happens. I also tried opening iTunes through the Applications folder, and still nothing happens. I've also tried ctrl-clicking on music files and choosing "open with iTunes" and still nothing. It doesn't give me an error message or anything, it simply doesn't do anything. I just want to listen to my music! Does anyone have any advice?Of course, immediately after posting this, I looked through the board again and discovered another topic on the exact same question. The answer was that I needed to update my software to version 10.4.11. I did that, and iTunes opened just fine.

Frame 12 graphics: holding down Shift used to keep the line straight, now what?
It used to be when drawing a line in Framemaker that holding down the Shift key while dragging the line would keep the line straight. This no longer works in Frame 12. What is the correct way to get a straight line?

Do you see the handles when the line is selected?
Note: when drawing a new line, the shift modifier makes a line either vertical, horizontal or a 45 degree diagonal depending upon how you move the cursor. When editing an existing line, the shift modifier will constrain the line to either expand or shrink along the vector direction or expand or shrink along either the vertical or horizontal axis of the end-point being modified. -

Do you mean 3 beeps?
Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length. -
Before the last update, I was able to play the music on my LG 2 over my car stereo system via blue tooth. A week ago I attempted to play my music in the car while on an 8hr drive and it wouldn't play. Normally, I select the music widget on my phone and then press the MP3 button on my car stereo and the music plays in the car. This has happened since the last update. Did the newest update (a month ago) change something that is keeping my music from playing in the car now????
right, figured it out. had to put it in disk mode, then reconnect, then it was recognized, then i restored and put everything back onto it. hope this helps anyone else who has a similar problem

Installed the latest update, now Airport Utility doesn't see Airport
I ran the latest update, now my Airport Utility claims to not see my Airport Extreme although I'm still on my network.? Any suggestions before I completely reset the AE to factory settings and start over.
I purchased a new Airport Extreme last week, I run a home network with a G5 desktop and a G4 Laptop running 10.4.10. It took me a while to set it up as I entered the wrong password for my ISP SBCGlobal. After I finally had it going I had a couple of occasions where Airport Utility did not see Airport but I still had the solid green light on Airport. I am not sure what I did that resolved the problem but I know I did a restart one time and my Airport showed up. I may have also reset my base station and re-entered my info but I no longer have the problem.

Adobe Acrobat Pro XI no more running after latest update
I've subscribed to Adobe Creative Cloud package. Anyway, during the latest update, Adobe Acrobat Pro XI stopped working: I cannot launch it any more (I get this message, translated by Italian: "You cannot run “Adobe Acrobat Pro” because it may be damaged or incomplete" and I also cannot uninstall it anymore: despite it looks like the disinstallation gone well, I still find the program installed and I still cannot neither uninstall it, launch it or download it again.
My Operating System: OS X Yosemite 10.10.1.

Do you other Adobe Application as well, like Photoshop and InDesign?
If yes, then launch Photoshop go to Help-> Deactivate. Relaunch the Application and activate again.

I installed certain programs with IE 8,9. Now what happens to them?
I tried to uninstall Internet Explorer and Windows 7 said that certain programs I installed with it. So the question is now what do I do? These programs include my printer, router,graphics card, sound card, and some other software items.

In computer terms, memory refers to RAM. How much RAM do you have? You have sufficient free/available space on your hard drive.
Do you have the retail version of Panther (black with silver X CDs)?
How did you back up your files? Did you use an application? Is OS 9.2.2 installed on the same hard drive as OS X? If you cloned the drive, your OS 9 files/system will also be on your backup. Are OS 9 & OS X on the same hard drive, or separate partitions?
Some Macs with OS 9 & OS X installed can boot to either system. Also, when you are booted into OS X, if you open an OS 9 application, that's what is known as operation in "classic" mode.
You shouldn't lose any files if you use the Archive & Install method to install Panther. However, you may find that some Jaguar applications may not open. So you may have to download a newer version or an update to your current version.
Firefox shouldn't be affected. Don't know about AOL.
After you install the basic 10.3 Panther, you'll need to update to 10.3.9 using Apple's free update at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2464
