I cannot get audio to play in the background of my menu

iDVD - i am creating a menu for a dvd, i cannot get background music to play in the menu.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
P.S. i have followed the instructions on the manual of how to apply music in a menu. it still does not work.

If dragging the audio track you want to use into the audio bin of the menu
doesn't play try changing themes and then change back to the original theme and add the audio track again.

Getting Audio to play in the Background but only over a small selection of slides?

Hope someone can help with this. I have a module at the moment which I have created and I want to run some cheesy suspense driven quiz show music over my end of module quiz. I have to admit to being fairly new to a lot of Captivate and I have looked at Audio options and am struggling a bit. I want to add Audio to just ten or eleven slides of the 100 odd in my project. If I add to my project audio as background audio it plays over everything. I see the button to stop it but it appears to be per slide and that seems crazy when I only want it on a small percentage of the project. I also see I can add audio to individual slides but then the audio stops as the slide pauses which when doing a quiz just doesnt work. Does anyone know if and if so how I can audio to play over just these ten slides without the playing of the music being affected by the playhead. I would have thought multiple audio sources as background music must be something lots of peopel want and use. It cant just be me? Any help woudl be massively appreciated.

Huh. I could have sworn I'd done it before, but I just tried in 5.5 and a 6.0 trial, and the audio section in the properties panel completely disappears when I select mutliple slides... Strange.
It's a shame you had to go through such a long project slide by slide, Jay; I feel your pain. I'm not sure what else to suggest for future projects if that method doesn't work...
If your project doesn't have any other audio, you could perhaps mute the project audio on the slides that you don't want background audio (the Action section in properties allows you to set an "on enter" action when you have mutliple slides selected). Or if you have audio on all your slides but the background audio slides, you could configure the background audio when importing to have 0% volume on slides with audio. But those are two rather specific cases.

Inserted a png PIP into my clip, can see it fine, can see it playing with the clip as expected when moving the play head manually, but cannot get it to play with the clip for preview, pleas help!

I am sorry if my inquiry here seem dumb but I am a new iMovie user and cannot figure this out. I inserted a png image into my video clip in the project as PIP, I can see it and move it and can also see it playing with the main clip if I move the play head manually, I can also see the PIP part only playing along with the undelying main clip if I use the Play button in the preview window when the PIP section is selected, however, for the life of me I cannot get it to play with the main clip all together for previewing the entire video via the video play button. What happens is that the video plays normally and when the PIP section comes in, the video clip stop all motion during the duration of the PIP section and the PIP image itself is simply NOT showing. Am I missing something really stupid here? It seems as it the Picture On Picture is a separate clip that plays with the underlying main video clip if selected and played by itself but it is not part of the video clip and will not play with it. What am I missing here, can anyone please help?

The easiest way to get up and running is to convert your MP3s to MP4s (obviously there won't be a video track). The following link links to a file that was an MP3 that I converted to an MP4 using QT Player Pro. When you go to export the files, make sure you click on "Options" and then check the box for "Enable Streaming" in the Streaming tab. It should stream flawlessly using QT Player. rtsp://rhsstreamit.rih.org/testmp4/Scorpion.mp4
Make sure you place the media to be streamed in the proper folder. You should only get a "404" message if the physical file doesn't exist.

Can I get audio to play til the end, even if I turn the page?

I know how to add a quicktime audio file, but once you turn to the next page, the audio file stops. Is there a way to set the audio to play til the end regardless of how many pages you turn? Or would I have to split up the audio and have the user play it on each page they turn to?
Are there any options for the audio player interface? Or would I have to resort to using a widget?

I've just bought the enhanced edition of The Story of Naxos, and was intrigued to see that the embedded audio files do continue playing after the page has been turned. So it's clearly something that iBooks itself is capable of handling, even if iBooks Author doesn't cater for it - and I've also submitted a feature request pointing this out.
And with regard to the "superfluous" comment, it depends entirely on the nature of the project. The one I've postponed until this feature is introduced involves recordings of Schubert songs that are supposed to be playable over the original German lyrics, an English translation, a musicological analysis and a facsimile of the score - the idea being that you can listen to the complete song while exploring various aspects of it. But it's impossible to fit all this material onto one page, and even reading it in portrait mode doesn't work, as the music stops playing as soon as the embedded images from the score appear.

How old is your MBP? Some older MBPs don't support audio through HDMI, so you have to run a separate wire.
If your MBP is fairly recent, visit System Preferences > Sound > Output and select the device corresponding to your TV. (In my case, it includes the brand name of the TV in the "Name" column and "HDMI" in the "Type" column.)

I have an external DVD/CD USB - Memorex. Cannot get it to play or the software to run.

Check the devices system specifications to see if the manufacturer claims it's compatible with OS X. If it's not then you will need to replace it. However if it is then do a SMC reset 2-3 times back to back using the directions in:

So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.

Cannot get videos to play correctly - the sound works, but screen stays green. If I then hit "replay" the video works correctly- 1 time. Help!

mostly imbedded videos and youtube cause this problem. However, some of the news sites have commercials that work fine, but when the commercial is over, the green screen comes back. Windows 7 -64 bit- updated firefox to 6.0 beta with same results

Make sure that you allow the plugin-container process in the firewall.

I`m getting the same background audio when I open Firefox every time.

Delete the files extensions.* (extensions.rdf, extensions.cache, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox [[Profiles|profile folder]] to reset the extensions registry.

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check.

How to get audio to play through TV?

I have a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable and can only get video to show up on my HDTV screen. I am trying to get audio to play through the TV as well, but it only plays through my Macbook Pro. Any suggestions?

Audio from video won't stop playing in the background

I have series of youtube/mp4 videos on the timline and navigation to go to different timeline navigation points.
When I play the video it works fine but when I click on my navigation to go to another navigation point the audio still plays in the background.
I made sure to turn off my content dropzone by each point but it still plays. the only way that it stops is when I manually hit pause or stop before clicking my navigation.
Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.

There's a difference between a data DVD, and a DVD-Video. I believe you made a data DVD, which can't be played in a video player. The Burn feature of the Finder can't author a DVD-V, just data discs.
I assume you made a Project, and put clips from your Event Library into the Project. But then, how did you output your Project, using the SHARE menu?
When I pull down iMovie '11s SHARE menu, "iDVD..." is one of the options. It's the job of iDVD to make the menu that appears when you insert a DVD into your player (that says the title, and chapters, and extras, etc.). You need software that will made a DVD-V disc. Lacking that, you might be able to go to Share/Export Movie... or Share/Export using QuickTime... to get your video into a format that software like Roxio's Toast could burn.

I'm sorry but what is a who thing?
If you are just having problems getting youtube to play on your phone, I would start with shutting down all the apps sitting in the multitask tray, then I would do a reset, and if that doesn't work I would do a network settings reset.
If you are having problems runnig Youtube over your own wifi network, I would throw in a router restart and see if that helps.
