I cannot get birthday notifications to turn off. Help!

I've tried turning off birthday notifications everywhere I can and yet they still come up on my phone. I don't know what else to do! Anything I might be missing?
Calendars:
Facebook: unchecked
Other: unchecked
Default Alert Times:
Birthdays: None
Facebook settings (allowed apps):
Calendar: Off
Facebook app settings:
Birthday reminder push notifications: Unchecked
I've done all this and still the birthday notifications remain. Is there something I'm missing?

You can't delete or change Birthday notification from Facebook. Because all birthday notification are pulled from contacts app directly, and users are unable to edit facebook contact info, only way to disable birthday notification from Facebook is to disable contact integration with Facebook completley.

Generally 10-20 seconds. If it goes beyond 45 seconds it probably will not reset. At this point you should plug the phone into a wall charger for at least 45 minutes to be sure it has an adequate charge, then try to put it in recovery mode to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808. If you can't put it in recovery mode you will have to try to put it in DFU mode to restore it (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2648467?threadID=2648467&tstart=0). I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not turning off. I'm not sure if you have tried this, but I recommend first trying to reset your iPhone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

Slow, intermittent. Sometimes bootable sometime not. Odd behavior.
Sounds to me like a classic case of your HD failing.
Your SMART status may still show verified, with no errors on the Apple Hardware Test, Disk Utility shows no problems on Disk Repair- this is of no help.
I trust you have a good back-up and a bootable clone.

Do not store them in the Cloud. It isn't really storage. For iTunes purchases, for example, it is just re-downloading a purchase. If a label decides to no longer make the item available it will disap[pear from the cloud and that will be it for you.
You can't store items on an external drive simply by dragging them there. That's too complicated for iTunes and how it is set up to work. I know I post on this 10x a week and there's many other posts discussing this. I suggest you browse a bit first. Your options are basically to either put your whole library on the eternal drive (which is a nuisance if you don't want to drag it everywhere with you), or to copy individual items to the external drive, delete them from the internal drive, then re-add them as new items (re-adding to playlists, etc.).
