I cannot get Creative Cloud to update the applications I have installed. How can I get CC to update them?

I am unable to get Creative Cloud to update my CC programs I have installed on my MacBook Pro. The programs were originally installed from a free year trial that my work was offered. It was an enterprise trial. Because I work with multiple translations, I installed the English language with Arabic support versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. The Creative Cloud desktop program shows that these programs are all "up to date" even though they are not. None of these programs allow me to go to Help>Updates either. That option is grayed out. I have read through several forums and help articles. I have done the following:
Uninstalled and reinstalled CC desktop program.
Logged out of CC desktop program.
Deleted the opm.db file.
Reopened the CC desktop program after deleting this file.
Uninstalling and reinstalling all of my CC programs on my MacBook.
There has to be something that I'm missing... or is it that I'm using the Arabic supported versions of these programs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    As a graduation gift, my parents bought me the Macbook Pro, but they forgot the Admin password they had set on it...So I did a little but of searching around and the Installation disk solution came up. I have the disk, but I was wondering if I did follow through with it, will it erase all the applications I have installed like Microsoft Word, PPT, and Excel?

    Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
    Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
    If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

    Did you originally set it up with iTUnes? If so, connect it to that computer, connect your device and open iTUnes. You'll be offered the option to 'set up as new' or 'restore from backup', choose the restore frm backup and it'll restore your device to 'as it was' on the date of that last backup (now if that backup was 6 months ago, then that's where it'll be restored to, 6 months ago and you've lost anything between now and then.
    If all your apps aren't there, all you need to do is sign in with the apple ID they were purchased under and redownload them.

  • I got creative cloud and want to sell lightroom 5.  How can I release the license?

    I don't know how to do this, but I want to make sure that the new buyer can use the software properly.  I bought this and a month later, uninstalled it when I upgraded to creative cloud.  I don't know how to release the license so I can sell this software to a third party.  Maybe that isn't needed, but I need to make sure they can license it on their computer.  Please help since I don't know how to find out and my buyer is waiting to hear.  Thanks so much!

  • Sharing files in Creative Clouds with clients who do not have InDesign. Can they make type changes?

    I have a client who would like to edit an InDesign file in the Cloud. Is this possible? I could not find any tools in the Cloud that supports this. Though, I thought this was a benefit of having it in the cloud that people didn't need to have InDesign.

    Currently someone without InDesign can view each page (spread) of an InDesign document from the Files page at https://creative.adobe.com/files. They can also make comments.
    To make changes to the file you do need to have InDesign installed.

    I want to update my iPad but I am afraid that some data and applications might be lost? Do I loose applications if update?

    As your tagline says that you already have iOS 5 on it then you should have a Settings > General > Software Update option on your iPad for direct update on it. You shouldn't lose any content when you do update, but before you start, to try and minimise any data loss if anything goes wrong with the update (it shouldn't), first connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case.
    Then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC).
    You can then do the update via the Settings > General > Software Update option on your iPad.
    You can also do the update via your computer's iTunes by (after doing the above purchases, photos, document copy) clicking the 'Check For Updates' button on the Summary tab - but doing it that will download the whole iOS 6.1.3 version, it will then backup the iPad, empty the iPad and install the new iOS version on it, and then restore the backup back onto it. Doing the iOS update directly on your iPad should be quicker as that just downloads the actual update, not the complete iOS version.

I purchased movies on the first laptop that i had, but then it stopped working so i bought a new one. not being very good with technology and most likely screwing up somethings on my new laptop with itunes, it wont show that i had purchased any movies at all. I have an ipod touch and one of the movies got downloaded on it, so when i plugged it onto my new laptop it showed that i had it, but the other ones that are not on my ipod touch are also not on my new laptop.

    The ipod is not a backup device.  You should have everything on your comptuer backed up to an external source ( cd, dvd, flash drive, external drive, etc).
    Some movies are redownloadable, some are not.  The movie studios decide this.

  • Unable to sign in to creative cloud after updating to maverick

    My Creative Cloud desktop app is completley blank and the icon is dimmed out. When trying to launch Illustrator or photoshop Im promted to sign in via Application manager and when doing so I get an error message that says:
    'Error
    There was an error with this action. Try again later.'
    so right now I'm not able to launch any CC applications.. any help much appreciated!!

    I also encountered the same error on my Apple Mac Book Pro running OSX Version 10.9.2 (Mavericks). First I encountered the "Error 13" where the Creative Folder was unable to complete the Installation and came up with a message "Error Starting Creative Cloud" Cookies Dir Cannot Make Folder /Cookies Permission Denied (Error 13). First I followed the below procedure :-
    Completely Uninstall the Adobe Creative Cloud from the Applications.
    Click on the Finder and Go to Folder ~/Library/Application Support
    Right Click on the Folder and Click on Get Info (cmd+i) and refer to the "Sharing & Permission"
    Unlock using your Password the Sharing and Permission Control.
    Add the Username that you have logged in and make sure it has "Read and Write Access" Refer to "Sriharshaa Prabhakar"
    Click on the "Small Settings Icon" and Select "Apply to enclosed items"
    Click on Lock
    Install the Adobe Creative Cloud.
    I also encountered an error while logging into the Creative Cloud after successful installation. I chose the below method to resolve the issue"-
    Quit the Adobe Creative Cloud from the Task Bar above.
    Click on the Finder and Go To Folder ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    Right Click on the Folder OOBE and Click Get Info.
    Rename the Folder to OOBE.old
    Launch the Adobe Creative Cloud
    Loginto to the Adobe Creative Cloud and chose the Application that you want to Install.
