I cannot get firefox to download to my computer internet explorer wont allow.

I click the download button it asks to run and save program button then nothing.It says something about internet explorer wont allow.

What kind of problem do you have when you try to access your email? What do you see or not see that is different from what you expect?
You said that Comcast can't fix the problem. Have you contacted their support? What did they say was the problem?

In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.
Will either of those install?
It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. Just setup a new computer and cannot get Firefox to download. Using Windows 7.

Just set up a new computer running Windows 7. Used Internet Explorer to find the Firefox web site. When I try to download, I get a message saying site is unavailable.

After trial with adobe pro XI I ordered the program ($14.95). Order has been confirmed. But I cannot get it to download on the computer in question. I continually end up back with trial program. How do I get to my full, non-trial system?

Used trial version of AA pro XI. now tried to order regular XI version ($14.95/ mo.). Order went thru but now I cannot get access to the newly ordered program. What do I need to do?

I am handicapped right now, i.e., the machine I wanted to load with the AA pro XI is at home and I am at work right now. Through work I have AAproXI loaded on two machines (here in my office). I'll have to fuss with the home machine tonight. Thanks for your help. I may need to radio back to you.

Trying to get Firefox to open in User Agent "Internet Explorer"

I run an Internet Cafe and have recently installed Ubuntu 10.04 over Micro$oft.
I HAVE to give customers an alternative to Live Messenger.
I have TokBox setup .. but gives problems now & then.
I need to cover all bases or lose customers.
The only viable alternative I have found is '''EBuddy'''.
Now the problem is .. when I log in using Internet Explorer and I connect to a contact - I can see the start video call "button".
Any other browser and the webcam button does not show.
All of the Firefox & Seamonkey User Agent Switchers I have tried work .. but I cannot expect the customer to know that they need to switch User Agent before they can use the webcam.
I need to Launch either Firefox or Seamonkey (preferably Seamonkey - if the fix is to be a permanent one) in Internet Explorer mode.
A permanent "fix" for Firefox was suggested on the Ubuntu Forum ...
1. Open about:config
2. Right-click, choose "New" > "String"
3. Type "general.useragent.override" (no parentheses) into the "New String Value" dialog box that appears and press "Enter." Type or copy and paste the desired new user agent string into the "Enter String Value" box (in this case "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1)" )
When you're done, copy that Firefox profile to all of your computers (the .mozilla folder)
I tried this on Seamonkey .. but it did not have the desired effect = no start video call button.
There is a Proxy Tool add on for Seamonkey which can change the user agent and this works. Same thing for Firefox.
But the user agent is back to default on browser re-start.
In an ideal world I would like to create a Launcher on Ubuntu desktop which would open either Firefox or Seamonkey on the E Buddy sign in page and the User Agent would automatically be set to IE8 or 9.

Try to set the user agent via a user.js file.

Cannot get Firefox to download videos

After uploading a YouTube viseo. stopping download, Firefox will not show panel to download video to my computer. Please advise action needed. Was OK yesterday!

Using add-on Easy YouTube downloader 6.5 Usually I get a video up on Firefox, immediately stop the download, click 'download' choose Flv 360 and expect to see a panel showing video details which I click OK. Then my folders come up and I select the destination folder. But the folder doesn;t come up. I get the following on the adress bar:

Firefox wants to download photos to the C drive. I want them to go to the E drive.

You can change the directory in Tools->Options->General Tab... If that does not work try going to about:config then search for "browser.download.dir" and manually set it.

Cannot get firefox to load onto my computer

for 2 days I have been trying to download Mozilla Firefox 30 to my laptop, Vista XP os and it will not take. I have tried everything from making sure all drivers are up to date to different versions of the program and nothing works. When I do attempt to download, sometimes I get a messge of "thank you for downloading Mozilla Firefox" but there is no sign of it on my laptop, why?
What do I have to do to get it to load?

Do a clean (re)install:
* Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
* Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can initially skip the step to create a new profile, that may not necessary for this issue.

What application are you choosing to open the files with?
Because of how integrated it is with windows IE should work. If it's not working, something more widespread could be wrong with your computer that would also prevent other browsers from working properly. Of course we'd love you to stick with Firefox, but you should get help with IE, too.
