Perform the suggestions mentioned in the following articles:

Check and tell if its working.

  • Firefox closes itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled five times in 2 months. What can I do?

When I click on the icon, it does not open but when I try to open it, I get the message that another version is open. I can't open it to shut it down. I have to restart my computer. This has been ongoing for months. I have uninstalled and reinstalled but it just happens again and again. I'm over it.

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a ''Clean reinstall''. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
'''Note:''' You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    #*'''Windows:'''
    #**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    #**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*'''Mac:''' Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*'''Linux:''' If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see [[Installing Firefox on Linux]]. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the [http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop Firefox download page], simply remove the folder ''firefox'' in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
Please report back to see if this helped you!

  • After system restore firefox wont open is crtashing i uninstalled and reinstalled no help

it trys to open and the crash reporter comes up. i restored to a date when it was working. i had a virus attack that was removed

It is always better to do a reinstall of Firefox after doing a system restore. The result of a system restore can be unpredictable and may cause some files to get replaced by older versions. That can also happen with files in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder]. Files with the file extension .ini and .js are the most obvious candidates.
    Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]<br />
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Session_Restore

    Hi,
What's your operating system and browser?
You should ensure that Flash Player is enabled in your browser.
If you are using Windows and Internet Explorer:
    - Disable ActiveX Filtering
    - Enable Flash Player in Internet Explorer
    Thanks,
    Sunil

  • Every time I start up it says it's already running. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times...

    Message states
"Firefox is already running but not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window."
So then I click "Close Firefox".
Then I open it again and I get the same message....

  • Cannot install iTunes on PC despite uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times

I cannot download ITunes to my PC.  I have uninstalled all apple components multiple times and it's still not working.  I have followed the uninstall word for word.  I cannot contact support because I do not have a serial number.  This is for an HP not a mac so I don't have an apple id.  Very very frustrated.  Getting multiple *.dll errors also

Do you get an error message when you try to install iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Delicious won't appear; I had it running once, have uninstalled and reinstalled, I seem to be getting a blank menu bar; running Firefox 3.6.13

Using VIEW and TOOLBAR and selecting DELICIOUS, I get a grey bar that appears where previously I got the DELICOUS menu with icons and recently bookmarked items.
Have uninstalled, reinstalled. Running latest Firefox 3.6.13

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • I get a crash notice. Firefox will not launch at all -- it keeps giving crash notice. I also cannot generate a crash report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled -- same issue. It does not launch.

Firefox crashed this morning. It will not launch even after being uninstalled and reinstalled. All I can get is a crash box. It will not relaunch in any way

This sounds the same as my issue. I was browsing in Firefox v6.0 last night and all of a sudden it closed with no notice or error message. When I tried to open FF I received the messaga; We're Sorry - Firefox had a problem and crashed. We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts." I does not restart. I have been using IE to browse for a solution and nothing works other than opening as administrator. Now this problem is only on one of my laptops and is fine on my desktop and other laptops so it appears to be something specific to my laptop which is running Window XP Home and Service Pack 3.
Some suggestions were to change the profile (did not work), end the firefox.exe process in task manager (not running in processes) and delete an xpicleanup.exe (not listed).
The only thing that works is to run as administrator but I have to do this everytime. Is ther a solution?

Okay. That's got the most common (current) possibility ruled out.
There's a lot of stuff that might be on the table still, though.

This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Usually this is caused by your antivirus or firewall blocking iTunes access to the Internet. It can also occur if the phone is jailbroken or if the computer you are using was ever used to jailbreak an iDevice.

Started having trouble with iTunes so I uninstalled everything and tried to reinstall but it says ' iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.'  Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times.  Now what?

I figured it out.  A week ago I had downloaded a screensaver from a website I trusted and that's when my problems started. I uninstalled it but that didn't help.  So, I reinstalled it then used an uninstall softtware app that cleanns more than the control panel does. Then I used a computer cleaner to be sure everything was wiped clean.  And it worked.  I downloded iTunes for the 7th time in 2 days and finally it worked!  And I lost nothing from my account.

  • I'm running windows7 and an iPhone4 and also an iPod touch2. When I connect to iTunes I get the message to uninstall and reinstall itunes. I've done this numerous times but still can't connect my devices to iTunes, HELP!

I'm running windows7 and I'm trying to connect my iPhone4 and iPod touch2 to itunes. I've installed the latest version of iTunes, and updated my iPhone's driver. When I connect either device to iTunes I get the message "you need to uninstall and reinstall itunes". I've done this multiple times with the same results. This is very frustrating, HELP!!!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
