I cannot get into the iTunes application on my iPad. I have a wireless connection.

I cannot open the iTunes Store ap. how do I get into the store?

I'm having the same problem on my ipad 2. Error message "cannot connect to iTunes" pops up when I open the App store. I can access iTunes app without issues though. This only happens when I'm on wifi at home. At work, I can access the App Store and iTunes.
I don't think it's the internet because I'm using a stable wifi connection and can browse websites. Plus, my iphone can connect to both App store and iTunes at home and at work. This has been ongoing since I updated my ipad to ios 6.
If anyone knows a fix for this, it will be very much appreciated.

Same thing happened with my iPhone 4S - no one is any help. Thanks Apple for such a crappy update! I've called Apple, they say the SIM card needs replacing, I go to my service provider they tell me nothing wrong with the SIM card - provider tells me I now need a new phone. Sheesh! Try this,
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

You don't have the iPad connected to the computer with the cable while you are trying to download apps on the iPad do you?
I'm running out of ideas here. Try this, reboot your iPad and then try again. If you are connected to the computer, disconnect the iPad first.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

If the messaging app is crashing at launch, and it is not fixed by a reboot, you will have to restore the device to factory settings, and then choose the set up as new option. Restoring to factory, and then restoring from a backup will return the issue to your iPhone.
If it is all saved to iCloud or your computer(outside of iTunes) then go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings. This will erase all info from your iPhone! So be sure you have your stuff saved, erase & in the start menu up choose "Set Up As New," sign in with iCloud/Apple ID, get back to texting like a boss.

You can't get rid of those icons because that means that you MUST connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and restore the device. You have no choice. There is no way to remove that from the screen. Something went wrong on the iPad and you need to restore it now.

When I try to go into iTunes on my Mac, it comes up with a window that says "The iTunes Library file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have written permission for this file. When I click ok it disappears and I cannot get into my iTunes program.

Information about contacts is contained in the backup of your phone, however, once you connect the new phone and restore the backup, you will still need to sync other data. Your contacts need to be in a supported application, such as Outlook 2003 or 2007 for Windows, Address Book for the Mac. If you go to sync that information however, you need to ensure you have a unique contact and unique calendar appointment to be prompted to merge.
As far as photos are concerned, if you are talking about your photo album, that is contained in whatever folder you want on the computer and that has to be synced to the phone. Photos in your camera roll have to be imported to the computer and saved before you can get them back, however if you use the backup from your old phone, it should bring them over, but I would feel more comfortable if they had been imported to the computer in case something goes wrong.
