I cannot get ipad to synch and using vista
just bought ann IPAD2 and am having trouble getting Vista to recognise device. I have tried all the suggested tips on Apple and also tried using msconfig to trouble shoot conflicts but still no luck. Would welcome any sugestions before I take IPAD2 back to the store ! Cheers
Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go.

Cannot get ipad, iphones to print using wireless on Photosmart estation e510
I have a photosmart estation e-510 and I am trying to get my assorted ipads, iphones to print wireless using this printer.
I have downloaded the iprint apps, and I have the wireless feature working on the printer. The Apple products will not recognize the printer. i am using a Cisco dual band router.
I have searched on the forums,on HP website no help.
Any assistance would be appreciated

View Solution.Let's start with a restart of the router. Pull its power plug for a few seconds, plug back in and wait for it to start up.
If that does not do it, restart your printer and your iOS devices. Make sure all devices have the lastest firmware.

My IPad screen is frozen with a message stating that the IPad has not been backed up to the ICloud for 7 weeks, this is not correct. I cannot get the messageto clear and cannot access any of the other icons; is there an emergency reboot process?
Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).

Hi! I am using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, iTunes 10.6.3 on my Intel i3 iMac and should I purchase the latest iPad, would I be able to set up, synch and use it without iCloud? Also, would iWork files be interchangeable between the two bevices? And...could information from the Mac be transferred into iBooksAuthor? Regards Neil
You may need to update iTunes to iTunes 11 but you can do that running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I would recommend running iTunes 11 anyway. It is a bit different in the user interface, but it works the same that it did in 10.6.3.
You can transfer iWorks files back and forth without iCloud but you will need to use file sharing with iTunes. However, you will have to purchase the iPad versions of those apps becuse the Mac versions will not work on the iPad if you were thinking about using the Mac apps.

Open the Finder by clicking the Finder icon in your Dock.
From the menu bar at the top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Typs this exactly as you see it here ~/Library/Safari
Click Go
Move these files from the Safari folder to the Trash.
LastSession.plist
Downloads.plist
History.plist
Quit then relaunch Safari.

okay, noW this is stupid, HTC ONE MAX RECEIVES sENSE 6 UPDATE IN Malasia yet we cannot get it here in the use on verizon, last Again and it has been in certification as long as EVERY OTHER HTC out there!!!! its been 3 months now for certification process. I think we will receive this update for Christmas.Verizon really dont care about htc one max users. Dont lose hope htc one max users we will see this updates in our phones. i posted a picture conversation between me and htc. they said its verizon who releases updates for us not them, they delete my post i am sure 100% there is something going on with this update. they just dont tell us.

Cannot get iPad to charge with adaptor in prague
Arrived in Prague today and cannot get ipad2to charge. Am using the converter plus the iPad charger any ideas on what the issue could be
Charge overnight with the charger that came with the iPad. Then, connect to the computer and determine if you can sync.
Charging from the computer is "iffy" as many USB ports (especially on Windoze machines) do not put out sufficient current to charge the iPad. -

I did ipconfig and got the address but cannot open it up to make it a server.This sounds like you are trying to use a web page setup for the AirPorts, which will not work.
You are aware that you must use an application.....AirPort Utility.....on a Mac, PC or iPhone or iPad to set up and configure the Airport routers, correct? The Setup Guide is pretty clear about this.
Is this a new AirPort Extreme that you have? If yes, please review the System Requirements:
Setup and Administration
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6 or later and AirPort Utility 1.3
Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and AirPort Utility 6.3
If you have a previous version of the AirPort Extreme.....and you have not downloaded and installed AirPort Utility 5.6.1 for Windows - Support - Apple , now might be a good time. -
Cannot get iPad 2 charged beyond 1%. All charging ports tried: AC adapter(s), USB 2 port on MacBook Pro. ITunes shows iPad only for a few seconds. iPad displays alternately: Apple logo, battery w/slim red band, then battery w/1% charged information. How can I get it to charge beyond 1% so I can proceed to troubleshoot?
I have had your exact problem with my old 3GS, now I cannot even get it to turn on, I still see that it is supposed to be charging though, but it never charges any so it seems.
I replaced the Lower Dock Connector Assembly back when it still charged while hooked to my PC, and it found it made no real difference.

Memory: 4GBTo share either select the link (paperclip) icon on the right of the file or folder list.
Cut and paste the link into an email you send your friends. Do not use the "share this" option in Dropbox as it forces them to join.
You can test it after deleting your browser cache and cookies - you will no longer be signed in to Dropbox but the link should work fine.

I have an HP 4500 printer connected to airport extreme with usb. All our portable notebooks print via air but cannot get iPad to be recognized for printing. Do I really have to have one of the other HPs listed?

Even if it was compatible, AirPrint does not work through a USB link, only Ethernet or WiFi.
I do not see your HP 4500 listed on Apple's list of AirPrint compatible printers. <iOS: AirPrint 101> Therefore you need to take another approach. To start, I suggest you download the free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz. It has limitations, but should get you printing with your existing setup.
There are other printing Apps with more features such as Print n Share and PrintCentral, but they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
Your best option may be to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi. Programs that are reported to do that well are Printopia and FingerPrint. Your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print. <Printopia for Macintosh> <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>

Change that line to:
$s = Get-AzureSubscription -Current –ExtendedDetails
The difference between the two lines is that the –ExtendedDetails will return the Thumbprint required by the code

How to restart base station from airport utility? I used to be able to do it remotely
I currently use a Mac Pro 10.8.4 and have a time machine for wireless 6.3 (630.34). Sometimes I cannot connect to the internet and use network preferences to diagnose the issue. This results in being told to restart the wireless. The airport utility includes the drop down option of restarting but is not clickable so I can't choose it.
With my prior macbook and same time capsule, etc if i had problems connecting to the internet I would run network diagnostics to help out. This included clicking on the airport utility ---> base station --> restart. This worked most of the time.
Bottom line, is there something I am missing in not being able to restart the wi-fi remotely? ]

Click on the Time Capsule icon
Click Edit in the small window that appears
Now click the Base Station menu.....top of the screen....not the Base Station "tab" in the center of the screen

Help, I installed parallel and windows, and opened videos (on an external hard disk) with windows, and now cannot open them with Mac, and use i movies. How do I reverse this?

What are you actually trying to do? Why do you need "DVD size" folders if you're creatng an Archive on an external hard drive?
Also, I understand burning folders instead of individual photos or albums gives you more space on a DVD.

How can I keep the captions on my photos (not events) when I print or transfer to a new folder?
You can export while writing the metadata to the file in most cases.
Tne only way I know is to copy photos from the Windows to folders on my HD, then copy and paste photos or albums or events to HD, then create a new folder and fill it to the appropriate DVD size.
HD? Another HD? You use HD there in a way that makes no sense. What's the point of 'DVD size'?
I also thought I should download future photos to my Canon programming that comes with EOS cameras and edit and then decide which photos to save to iPhoto library and which to save only to my archival HD?
Does this have any relation to the previous questions? You know you can delete from iPhoto, right?
You're somewhat confused and you need to
1. Decide what exactly you want to do
2. Then go about it.
If I understand you correctly - and there's no guarantee that I do - the easiest thing is to bring all your Photos into iPhoto and do everything from there.
You can have an archive on an external disk, you can sort and select and edit with or via iPhoto
