I cannot get Messages App to send out messages

I'm running Yosemite and the Messages app won't send out messages. Trying Again also fails. I did a clean reinstall and now messages can come in but still cannot send.

You can either re-download it directly on your iPad via the Purchased tab in the App Store app, or you can connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand sidebar ofyour computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the sidebat via control-S), and then on the right-hand side of iTunes on the Apps tab select that app in the listbox of apps and sync/apply that to your iPad
