I cannot get my App Store to work. It says "Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple." How do I resolve this?
When I upgraded to Mavericks the other day, I lost functionality of Mac App Store. It worked fine in Mountain Lion.

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to CRL. Log out, log back in, and test.

have a question mark in the place of my mail's icon and i cannot get into my email. I found my email folder in the library ,but it is not in applications. How do i get my email back ?
you should look in your applications folder to see if mail is still there. the dock icon is pointing to mail being in your applications folder. it has probably been moved or deleted for some reason from the app folder. do a spotlight search for your mail program. if it is still on your computer, move it back to the applications folder and when you click the question mark, it should see it is back and open. The email folder in your library shouldn't have to be touched. you need mail.app itself.

I have completed the OS X Maverick upgrade, restart etc. but when attempting to update 8 other Apps to X Maverick I get this message:
WE COULD NOT COMPLETE THIS UPDATE
Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple.
Help!Similar threads solve this problem by either creating a new administrator identity, which allows one to update applications, or changing the keychain prefs to Best attempt. My issue was solved by adding a new admin user, and then updating the apps from the App store using the new identity. Under my orginal user identity the keychain app would crash when I attempted to open Prefs. After creating a new identity and updating the applications (iPhoto, etc) I found I was able to open the keychain Prefs logged into my orginal identity.

getting "We could not complete your update. Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple." message when trying to update Apps via the App Store. Get similar message for download of a free app. Console message is:10/23/13 2:00:27.610 PM storeagent[310]: *** Assertion failure in -[ISCheckPreflightOperation verifyDistributionAtURL:allowsDevSign:allowsUnsigned:osVersionToBeInstalled:err or:distributionController:], /SourceCache/Pisa/Pisa-232/ISCheckPreflightOperation.m:314

I try to purchase Pages (after upgrading to Maverick OS) and keep getting this message:
Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple.
How to I get past this? I cannot find anything referencing preflight file. Who can identify this?Back up all data.

The apps available to you are dependent on your location. If you are not in the USA, then you cannot get the USA app store. Whilst you may think that is unfair, it has been a part of the stardard terms and conditions you agreed to when you setup the iOS device in question originally, as well as every time you click agree to the terms and conditions.
This is done because of two things, firstly there are many legal and semi-legal reasons that an iOS app store download is available in one territory and not another, in addition to this, it also allows apple to provide language specific content, as well as team up with companies and organisations within individual organisations in order to provide you with exclusive offers, content, and information, which it would not otherwise be able to do.
Rules for the iOS app store are also applied in varing forms for the music store, the books store, and the iTunes U content library.
I can very much understand your fustraition, as someone who spent a considerable portion of his life, especially during the years he grew up, living in California, USA, but now living in London, UK, I too find it very fustraiting that you cannot always get the same content from one country to another, especially when most marketing for iOS apps originates in the USA these days.

I am trying to install the updates from Mac AppStore but it keeps aborting saying the it cannot verify the PreFlight file and that it's not signed by Apple. What is going on?
Just attempted to run the update and still rec'd the same message. I also see that there are many others who are havig the exact same problem. How can I get Apple support to look at it?

I bought a new iPad in July in USA and it was set up by the Apple store in Houston, now I can't access my apps store neither can I view all my purchased apps.
Secondly, every time it want to update my apps that I bought years ago, it tells me to go to Nigeria store. I don't know why I must change to a store to update my apps

I am the proud owner of a first gen ipad given to me for Easter by my kids and we cannot get any apps even freebies as says I must have V6 but now idea how to upgrade my ipad! i would be very grateful for simple instructions as to how to get apps ASAP And I have no idea what operating system I have
Many thanks a VERYNovice ipadderThe iPad 1 can be updated to iOS 5.1.1. You can see what level you are running in Settings > General > About > Version.
If you are not at iOS 5.1.1 and if you are have iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

If you are on level 5 but not at 5.1.1 you can update to 5.1.1 using Settings > General > Software Update.
There are still many Apps which will run on iOS 5. Also, some developers have older levels still available for the iPad 1. -
I cannot get my itunes of app store applications on my iphone to load. I have restored the phone, but that did not work. They just say loading fore a long time
Maybe you'd have to contact an Apple Store or the carrier who handles
the phone, about how to reset it. There should be some helpful motions
and efforts to attempt to re-connect the vehicle to the iPhone, there.
Perhaps there's a firmware update for the vehicle at an authorized agency...
Looking ahead, when looking into newer 2015+ models, test with a phone.

How do I get my app store to work again?
Alright, I've been having this problem on and off for awhile now. But occasionally when I click on my applications folder in my dash, my app store won't be working, which after I see that, the one on my desk top will stop working as well. And when I try to boot them up they tell me "You can't open App Store because it may be damaged or incomplete".
I can fix this problem usually by moving around a working form of the store, but today I miss placed a working version and now I'm scrambling to fix it and I don't know how. How can I fix my app store and get it working again?If you have any extra copies (other than backups) of the App Store application, delete them. Use only the one in the Applications folder. If it still doesn't work, see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. -
How do I change my "Installing Apps?" Cannot get my App Store back!

I am in an elementary school setting, we have several ipad carts for teachers and students to use. I am trying to install new apps on our ipads, but there are several that for some reason will not let me. I have gone under "General" and where the button for "Installing Apps" is, it is labeled "off." Installing Apps and the iTunes buttons are gray and cannot switch from the off button to on. I have looked and looked online for different ways to (for a lack of a better word) find my App Store, I have tried going to General -> Reset -> Reset Homescreen Layout, but my App Store is still in hiding. I know that it cannot be erased, that it is there somewhere, but I cannot find it! Help!Sounds like you might have restrictions turned on.

Can't Get Mac App Store Notifications Working
I've noticed recently that I've stopped seeing the red notification icon pop-up on my Mac App Store dock icon as it should be doing. I also haven't seen any Mac App Store notifications pop-up in the Notifications Center for quite some time as well.
However, if I open the Mac App Store, it acknowledges available updates and shows the red icon at that point. Once available updates are installed, the red icon dissapears as expected.
I've confirmed this issue does not occur in a new user account and I've tried, with no success, to remove the App Store .plist files from my user library folder, from both the Preferences folder and the Cookies folder, then restarted the computer.
I'm wondering if there is some other settings file somewhere that could be affected in some way and causing this issue.

Are you using an American Express card? If so, it's the 4 digits on the front of the card, not the back. If you're not, then it's possible you aren't using the same card that's tied to your account and I would suggest re-entering all your billing information.
