I cannot get my HP officejet 7000 to work with my Macbook Pro?

I installed the HP Officejet 7000 and at first it worked ok however on rebooting my Macbook Pro I can no longer connect to the printer? This has happened with 2 different HP Officejet 7000 printers. Does anyone have a solution?

OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion systems will have the necessary printing software already installed, or will automatically download and install software when the printer is connected or configured. Do not install software that came with the printer as it may be out of date, and do not connect the printer to your Mac yet. Follow the instructions that came with the printer to unpack, install ink or toner, and insert paper.  Finally, use the instructions in this article to connect the printer to your Mac.
Make sure the printer model is listed in Printer and scanner software, which is a comprehensive list of all printer models that have compatible software for OS X Mountain Lion and OS X Lion.

If you haven't already, go to your Applications folder>System Preferences>"Sound">click on the center tab labelled "Output">highlight your external Bose Speakers in the list by clicking on it>turn up the Volume slider at the bottom of the window.  Hopefully that solves your problem.

  • Can I get a Dell U2410 Monitor to work with a MacBook Pro?

I rashly bought this monitor. It looks lovely but it has a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200, which I could not get with the VGA connection, and Dell do not make drivers for the Mac at all. Is there any chance of getting this monitor to work properly with my MacBook Pro? I found the Dell support site extremely difficult to penetrate, so I put the monitor back in its box and am going to sell it if I can't easily find out how to use it.
    Any advice is welcome.

I think you are using the wrong adapter. Higher resolutions require the use of a mini display port to DVI or DVI-D Dual link adapter. A VGA adapter will not do the job.
And I assume you are trying "extended" and not "mirrored" mode. What model Macbook Pro do you have?

  • How can I get an audio-in connector to work with a MacBook Pro (Mid 2012)?

I have a Plantronics headset with two cables: audio in and audio out (like the two connectors on the old MacBooks). It is pretty old and so I assumed it was for those. I have tried to get it to work with my mid-2012 MacBook Pro, but the microphone (audio in [yes, it does have a picture of a microphone on it]) cable isn't recognized by the Mac. It thinks it is headphones, and unsuccessfully tries to play sound through it. The other cable (audio out), however, successfully receives sound and plays it through.
I hope that makes sense, and I would appreciate any help .

They removed the audio input, starting from your model, you will need an USB interface, there are may, and it depends on how high of quality you need.
This works for most applications, unless you are trying to record "music quality"

  • Getting an Acer external monitor to work with a MacBook Pro

I just made the switch from PC to Mac and while I'm excited I'm having a few growing pains. Here's one thing I'm trying to figure out.
Both at home and at the office I have external monitors configured. These worked well with the PC but I having some problems with the Mac. I get the screens to work together fine (i.e. I can drag things from the laptop screen to the external monitor). However, the resolution on the external monitor is grainy. I've tried all the resolution setting and can't get it to work any better.
The Mac is a MacBook Pro with a 15.4" screen and the external monitor is an Acer AL2216Wbd.

    two possibilities>
    1. you're using analog cable to connect to external display (via dvi to vga adapter-but that is not the case obviously, because otherwise you could set the ref. rate for 60 or 75Hz - now its greyed out) anyway, when I used this set up, I noticed huge degradation of displaying quality. kinda washed out and blurred. but not grain at all
    2. but what is more presumable in your case, you're using photo background provided by apple...these pictures are grainy by themselve. and when you extend your desktop from 15" to 20" it's clear that you notice it, all the more, if the external is not widescreen, therefore background image has to be stretched and cropped even more, therefore the grain is even bigger. This is my personal experience.
try to test it. put to the background for example some gradient made especially for that purpose in ill or ps. make two versions for both screens.
    thats all
    good luck

  • Cannot get Canon LIDE 220 Scanner to work with Acrobat XI Pro, Acrobat will not let scanner add pages to existing PDFs

    Hi
I have recently purchased a Canon Scanner LIDE 220 for my new PC which has Windows 8.1 64-bit and ADOBE ACROBAT XI Professional.
I NEED to be able to open PDF documents and add pages by using the scanner, but the scanner is not being accepted by ACROBAT. I get messages that there is no scanner connected or no driver installed. I have uploaded Canon's latest drivers for the scanner but when I try to get Acrobat to accept the scanner it says the scanner will not accept presets.
    I need some help!!
    Thanks
    Andy White

    Andy,
Some scanners do not support presets, so when you choose an unsupported scanner from the pop-up menu, a dialog stating "This scanner does not support presets" appears. Have you tried scanning using Custom Scan through File > Create PDF from Scanner > Custom Scan..?
    Thanks

  • How Can I Get an 23" Cinema Display to work with a MacBook Pro 15"?

A 23" Cinema Display (M8536) will not display with and adapter connected to a MacBook Pro 15" (mid 2010). Adapter used is Apple Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter. What's wrong?

Thanks for the useful feedback, Knucklesmac. I agree. I must have blown something on the logic board -- because I had a faulty old KVM switch that would not switch between computers without some nasty hot-plugging/unplugging the VGA video cables. (wince!). It's like when Dizzy Dean ruined his arm because a line drive hit him in the foot and he readjusted his mechanics around the injury. I take the blame because this has been a great computer, and does not deserve any blame.
If it will help anyone else reading this thread, C2G (née Cables to Go) has some interesting ideas for still getting external video out of this computer:
    -USB-to-VGA
    http://www.cablestogo.com/product/30545
-Convert s-video or composite video signals to high resolution VGA
    http://www.cablestogo.com/product/40971
The price range is $75-$85, which doesn't make horse sense to me for such an old computer -- which has a lot of life in it anyway, because its own 15" monitor is not chopped liver.

There's a new driver bundle for OSX 10.6 that you might need to install, the HP link seems to be failing at the moment but there's a version of it here: HP_Installer_Scanjet_v2.4.3_Ph4.dmg

  • Can't get networked HP Officejet 5610 to work with MacBook

Apologies in advance if I'm covering old ground.
I just upgraded my Deskjet 832C to an Officejet 5610 All-In-One. The printer is connected to a WinXP machine and works without a hitch on three Windows PC's using print sharing. However, I've tried everything and can't get it to work with my MacBook using a wireless connection. The old 832c worked with no problem. In fact, I don't recall ever doing any setup to get it to work; it was just detected on the network and worked without any intervention on my part when I got the MacBook. With the new printer, however, it just won't print. I can go to "add printer" on the Mac and add it with no problem; the computer sees the printer on the mshome network. It's automatically set up as a "generic" printer because I don't see this particular model listed under the HP printers. But when I print, nothing happens. I think it's getting to the printer because I can open up the printer dialogue on the Windows machine and it'll show it's printer something called a "down level document" or something to that effect. But it just hangs up there and never prints. I also can't print anything from any of the Windows PC's while it's hung up on this.
Any suggestions on what I need to do. The much older 834c worked without me doing anything special, so I can believe a newer model won't work. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing seems to work. I've tried the 900 series driver as suggested, I've set the printer up using both the "default brower" and "ip printer" options, I've gone into Windows and checked the "TCP/IP" box in addition to the USB ports ... nothing makes any difference in the behavior. The Mac seems to be communicating with the PC because in the Windows printer dialogue box, it shows that a "remote downlevel document" is printing, but it hangs there and nothing will happen. I have to restart the Windows PC to clear the print job and can't print from any of the Windows PC's until I clear it.
Thanks again. I'll keep searching for an answer. Never thought changing to a newer, more up-to-date printer would be this much trouble.

  • Can't get duplex on Officejet 6480 to work with Mac OS 10.6.4

Recently purchased Macbook Pro 13 which makes me a new user. I have updated the OS to 10.6.4. Have installed Officejet J6480 and using wirelessly. Single page printing works fine. Can't get duplex printing to work. Checked options on printer in System Preferences and duplex capability is checked.
    What do I do now?

Have you checked to see if you've installed the most recent driver?

  • "Cannot Get Mail" using iPad WiFi but works with 3G

I have a iPad 3G. Today I started have a problem reading my mail from Exchange. I get "Cannot Get Mail" when I use WiFi, but when I use my 3G (with the WiFi off) it works fine. I can do everything else on WiFi, and this is a new problem. I have already tried resetting the iPad and that didn't help. What do I do?

This has worked for over a month and I just started having problems today. This afternoon, it was working every now and then over WiFi, but not consistently. Everything else works fine, so I don't think it is my ISP.

  • Get the Dell EVDO Express Card working on a Macbook Pro - here's how

    I found this here:
    http://svenontech.com/2006/06/11/get-ev-do-access-on-your-macbook-pro-now-from-v erizon-via-your-xv6700/
On the Mac side, you’ll first need to pair your XV6700 and Mac to each other. You should be able to do this easily, but if you need some help, check out Apple’s site for direct documentation on how to do this. When pairing, select “Other” device from the list, not “Phone”.
Once paired, the last screen will ask if you wish to use the device as a modem and headset. Uncheck headset (unless you wish to use your phone to communicate with others on applications such as Skype.) Now follow these instructions for setting up the modem:
Username: (Your full phone number) [email protected]
    Password: vzw
    Phone Number: #777
Mode Script: au cdmaOne Bluetooth Adapter
    Leave all check boxes checked
    Click CONTINUE
    Click QUIT
You’re now all set on the Mac side. You’ll now see a phone with a dot slash icon on your menu bar. Select it and choose “Connect”. Remember to have your XV6700 on, Bluetooth enabled, and the WMmodem application running Bluetooth mode with the START button activated. If all this is the case, you’ll be connected in seconds and your modem icon will display a counter next to it once connected. Enjoy the EV-DO!
Can someone verify that this works? I have a Dell Card on order.
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    David,
    Thanks for the response.
Before I read this I went to the apple store and tried some BT file transfers to another Mac and experienced the same results. I then went to the Sony store and tested it on a XP laptop and experienced the same speeds. I am able to achieve twice that rate when doing mac to mac BT transfere. I know my MBP has BT 2.0, but I didn't think my first generation Mini was 2.0.
I am able to sync via USB with Mark/Space's Missingsync, but it doesn't appear that they support DUN. I will email them, to see if they will consider it.
I just bought my 6700, so I still have the choice to return it. I am not sure if I should get another device that currently supports EVDO DUN via USB or suck it up and hope someone makes a usb dun driver for the 6700.
    Thanks again.

You can't; there's no Thunderbolt port on a Mac Pro. If you just bought the display, try to swap it for the standard 27" LED display with the mini display port connector (that assumes your Mac Pro is a 3,1 or later, which has a mini display port).
