I cannot get my iPad recognized by Windows 8.1
I have an original iPad that works just fine on my old HP laptop that has Windows Vista. I have a new HP 2 in 1 laptop, HP Split 13 x 2, that has Windows 8.1. I'm pretty sure when I first got the laptop and it only had Windows 8 on it that my iPad worked just fine when it was plugged in. Now when I plug it in you hear a sound like it is continually getting plugged in and then disconnected. iTunes is giving me this error 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000084). I cannot for the life of me get it to work. I have reinstalled iTunes and have all of the updated drivers from HP and Intel. I'm not sure what else to do.
Hi akclose,
I understand that you cannot get your iTunes working with iPad and your HP 2 in 1 Laptop. This problem can come up if there is some mismatch with the iTunes process in the Windows. Now there is a workaround to fix this problem. Just follow the steps which are mentioned as below,
STEP 1: First Close the iTunes application if it is opened already?
STEP 2: Open the task manager and select the option “Show process from all users” and search for the Apple process and kill all with its (Apple) name.
STEP 3: Now Navigate to the Apple folder from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple and go to the Support -> AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe and just select OK which does some clearing up process.
STEP 4: Now open the iTunes again and try to sync your iPad3 in it which should work fine without any issues.
Hope the above steps should have fixed your problem if you are still having issue then try to uninstall the iTunes completely and install it again. (Notes from www.geekfori.com)
I hope this helps, please let me know.
Thank you,
Advance23

I cannot get my ipad icon to appear in iTunes
I have gone through all the tutorials that seem to apply, but cannot get my ipad icon to appear on the left side of my itunes screen so that I can synch the 2 together. I am not an expert, and need some help here. Thank you so much.
I will assum that you are using the latest version of iTunes 11. Do you even see the devices heading in the sidebar or do you even see the sidebar? If not, go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu so that it is visible.
If you have done all of that and the iPad still doesn't show up.....

I cannot get my iPad 2 to work with VPN provider.
I cannot get my iPad 2 to work with my VPN service provider. Using OS 4.3.3. iPad purchased in the USA. Have heard there are issues with iPad 2 and VPN support. Any suggestions?
You can try this ... hold down on the sleep button and the power button at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo on the screen, release the buttons and see if the iPad restarts and you can use it.

I cannot get my iPad air iOS 8.1.2 to talk to my epson wf 3640 which driver is 9.31. Both are on the same network so I am not sure why it is not working. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hi otterSD,
When it comes to using AirPrint and it is not seeing your printer, the check the troubleshooting below to get it sorted out. You have already made sure it is on the same wireless network, so check to make sure that the printer does not need attention with any errors and check Epson’s website if there is any firmware updates for the printer.
About AirPrint
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201311
If you're unable to print
Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."
Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves your issue.
Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators displayed on the printer's control panel. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.
Take it easy,

I cannot get iTunes 10.5.1 (windows) to burn a playlist to CD. It cancels immediately with an Unknown Error 4251 message.
I am running iTunes on both 32 and 64 bit versions of Windows 7 and get same result on both machines.
It used to burn perfectly using previous versions of iTunes.
Any suggestions?
ThanksThe 4251 isn't all that common (relative to other reported import/burning messages). So to be getting it suddenly on two different PCs suggests a conflict with something you've got running on both machines.
Could you post diagnostics for both PCs, please? (Fingers crossed there might be some commonalities in the two sets of results that might lead us to the cause of this.)
(No need to put both sets of diagnostics in one reply. Posting each set in a different reply will quite probably be much easier for you.)
In iTunes, go "Help > Run Diagnostics". Uncheck the boxes other than DVD/CD tests, as per the following screenshot:
... and click "Next".
When you get through to the final screen:
... click the "Copy to Clipboard" button and paste the diagnostics into a reply here. -

I cannot get my iPad to print with my wifi printer but it prints from my computer
Is your printer listed on this page as supporting AirPrint : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356 ?
If it doesn't support AirPrint then you could see if the printer manufacturer has their own app in the store which supports it (e.g. Epson have an iPrint app, and HP have an ePrint app). If not then there are third-party printer apps such as Print n Share and PrintCentral Pro which might work with it -

TS1368 I cannot get my iPad 1 to connect to iTunes to update my apps.
Hi,
I am puzzled at the moment.
I cannot get my iPad 1 to connect to iTunes to update my Apps.
I have connection to iTunes to view/buy apps but it wont connect to Apps update.
I have connection to the internet via safari so I know there is an internet connection????
I have done a full back up, sync, all software updates are up to date, and I have managed to do the App updates on my iPad 3, Iphone 4GS and iPod Touch without getting the "Cannot connect to iTunes Store. OK." message, but not on the iPad 1???.
How do I fix this?
Thanks.Have you tried Settings>General>Date and time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead a year or so, you may have to experiment a little - then try to update the apps? You may get an error message and have to go back and correct the date and then it might work again.

We cannot get our iPad Air to charge. We have tried the wall plug and the computer plug in. It just gives a message saying it's not charging.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Can someone please help??? I received am IPad air in November for my birthday and have not been able to use yet, I could not get it to connect so I returned it for another iPad air. And cannot get it to connect to wireless either. I have three other iPad 2's and laptops in home and everything connects with no problem. What is the deal with these iPad airs? My husband took the iPad to Apple store, it works there but didn't change anything so it won't work at home. Do I need to step down to old IPad since that's all that will connect in home. This is crazy,!!! How can I get my IPad air working in my home.???
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.
