I cannot get my iPod to sync . . .
I have been unable to get my iPod to sync for the last week. I had installed an anti-virus program that wouldn't let me open iTunes at all. So I uninstalled the program, and now I can get into iTunes . .. but the iPod will NOT sync. It keeps saying that the required disk is not available. I have tried EVERYTHING. I have reinstalled iTunes at least three times but the iPod won't sync. I keep getting the error message about the required disk not being available. Is there anything else I can do?
My iPod is a 2nd generation nano.
Here is some info that I found.

Hope it helps!

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

how do I get my ipod to sync podcasts ?
Move/copy your entire iTunes library to your new computer. Move/copy the iPod backup from the old computer.
iTunes gives your backup a unique name for each device. To find the backup you just created, sort the window view by date and time created or last modified. iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
- Authorize the new computer for your iTunes account.
- Restore the iPod from the backup you just move/copied to the new computer and sync. -
I recently bought a new computer and I cannot get it to sync with my iPod. I also cannot see my purchased songs in iTunes on my new computer? I'm not sure how to fix this.

i downloaded 3 songs to my pc and sync'd my ipod and the songs do not tranfer. is this related to not having the proper itunes version vs ios? I cannot get the songs to sync, but I can move other songs to different playlists and they sync fine...any ideas what's wrong?
Hi Dennis!
I have a couple of steps for you to try in order to get those songs transferred to your iPod touch. First, make sure all of your software is updated with the latest versions. If the songs were downloaded from iTunes, you will also want to delete the songs from your library and then download them again from the list of past purchases on your iTunes account. An article about doing that can be found here:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
If you try a sync after those two steps and are still seeing the issue, then I would like you to try syncing the iPod by setting it to manually manage. An article outlining more information on manually managing your iPod sync can be found here:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1535
If you are still having issues after that, I have another article that can outline some other reasons why your songs may not transfer to your iPod, and it can be found here:
Some songs in iTunes won't copy to iPod

I cannot get the ipod gen 2 to show as something to sync to the songs I have loaded into itunes. I also only see the ipod as disk f, like it was a travel drive. Help. My daughter wants to get a newer Ipod, but if I can not get this one to work, why would I want to bother? Someone please help.
to a hard factory reset of your device first. if that dont work try updating itunes software. if that dont work try different cables to see if the one your using is faulty. or it could simply be that your device is on its last life. it happens. but resetting your device to factory settings and restoring it should tke care of things. FOR NOW!

I cannot get my podcasts to sync but the music will
I cannot get my podcasts to sync to my nano but the music does. Ihave checked my preferences and settings and all appear correct. Help!
No error messages when you try to sync? Are these video podcasts or audio podcasts? Maybe reset sync warnings on the device and resync your iPod with iTunes. To do this, right->click on the iPod under Devices and choose Reset Warnings. Then resync your iPod. Any error messages now?
Otherwise, what settings do you currently have in place from under the iPod's Podcasts tab in iTunes?
